Wifi won't turn on?? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Hey all. I'm running a rooted version of the android 5.0 of2 update. Everything was working fine for a few days when suddenly my wifi turned off and will not turn back on. It only shows the hollow green light that says it's turning on but never actually does
I tried using the tutorial fix to get it to work. I even wiped and factory restored my phone several times but to no avail. Any solutions would be much appreciated!

Auto spreakerphone

Hi all,
Since i've updated to Kitkat 4.4.2, everytime i make a phone call, the speakerphone automatically turns on? I've restarted the phone, checked my settings etc but can't see anything that would auto switch it on?
Please help, rather annoying
Thanks,
Same here. Please help before this phone has an untimely death.
Also here.
Anyone tried resetting phone? I remember I had some issues past time I updated and was told to reset it and then the issues were sorted.
When you say reset do you mean restart? I have restarted my phone and completely powered it off and back on with no luck.

I mean factory reset, the person on the phone last time told me that something might not have installed properly when I updated.
I will give it a try today.
Same, will do it when I get home, see if that works.

It worked! Thanks. It's a pita though because now I need to reset all my stuff back to my customized preference.

Have also had this issue, tried wiping/restarting and a whole host of things, nothing has worked. Also having a similar issue where my phone keep activating my cars bluetooth for no obvious reason, which may be related.
Today I have made a factory reset and after them I have installed my Rom again and the turning on off the speaker it's gone for me now. I hope it will gone also in the future.

Fix for Random ON Speakerphone
I think I've found a solution to this problem.
After getting repeatedly (and what seemed to be randomly) assaulted by my speakerphone I noticed something when quickly glancing at the screen when the issue occurred. It seemed to be happening when my phone discovered wi-fi, via Network Notification. I went into Settings, Wi-Fi Advanced Settings, and unchecked "Network notification" and "scanning always available". I have not had the speakerphone problem since.

Wi-Fi wont turn on

I searched but did not find anything related to my issue. I have an AT&T Note 3 that is rooted. I recently received the small update that supposedly is getting us ready for Kit Kat. Yesterday, I tried to turn on wi-fi and it will not turn on. I have tried a number of things, including a soft reset, turning air plane mode on and off and taking the battery out, before I resign myself to a hard reset. Nothing has worked. I'm not sure when this started as I don't use wifi much.
I haven't installed anything recently, so it is not a software conflict. I do have exposed installed, but I haven't even used it for anything yet.
Does anyone have any thoughts other than a hard reset, or has this happened to anyone else?
I've been having wifi issues after the recent NB4 update as well. It failed to connect due to a unstable signal. A hard reset was the only fix. Luckily it's been behaving for the past few days.

I've been looking and haven't seen anything about wifi just not even turning on. Will likely have to do a hard reset. Oh well. Thanks for the reply.
Mine was just fine on NB4, but I did get the update pushed as soon as I turned my phone on for the first time.

Random reboots

My phone has been randomly rebooting about once every two days. I'm completely stock, not rooted. In the middle of the night last night while it was plugged in it rebooted about 4 times in a row, so I shut it off then restarted it in the morning. It's been doing fine so far today. I can't figure out how to reliably reproduce the reboots so I don't know how to go about testing whatever is causing it. It doesn't seem to be caused by any actions I perform (it's happened while I'm using the phone as well as while it's completely idle) Any suggestions? I know there's not much useful info to go off of here...
I keep sending the crash reports to HTC but I don't know what to look for in them. Anybody know how to interpret the crash logs?
Had one this morning. Rooted, but no changes.
And it just happened again. Phone was just sitting there with the screen off... I tried to copy and paste the error log but it wouldn't let me select all the text. The only app I have running in the background usually is Twilight. I'm going to try uninstalling that and seeing if it helps. The problem is the reboots happen randomly so I can't really tell if anything I change actually has an effect! Yarggghhh.
EDIT: Managed to get the error log here: http://pastebin.com/Xynv9qMP
Tried rebooting into Safe Mode, then a factory reset. Neither worked so I exchanged the device at a Sprint store. Hope this one works better!

How did it go? I have the same issue on my international version.
Completely fixed it. I don't have insurance but was able to exchange it within Sprint's return period. My new phone works great

[Q] Htc One m7 -wifi stuck "turning on"

Hei guys !
I have a htc one with unlocked bootloader and s-off.
Yesterday my phone started to experience some trouble with the wi-fi connections. When i turn on the wi-fi it remains stuck on "turning on" and i can't turn it off anymore. I tried to more options by clicking on the 3 dots in the right corner but no succes..all options but "Advanced" are greyed out.
I already tried to flash a custom rom (Viper rom) and reflashed stock ruu and the problem persisted.
Any of you experienced similar problems?
I had that problem on another type of phone. It was hardware. You've already factory reset and changed the OS. The only other thing I can think of is to pull the battery (and you probably don't want to do this yourself). Good luck. I would send the phone in for warranty repair, if you can.
Unfortunately i can't rma the handset for repair because it was bought second hand.
I thought maybe it was another way to resolve this issue.. I found it odd because while i was using the device over the wifi connection it just disconnected and would not connect back on. No other glitch , fireworks or nothing..
Same problem here,
it suddenly stopt working.
it trying to connect and stays there.
reboot is fixing it for a few minutes and problem is there
again.
i have the problem on multiple networks.
new firmware flashing didnt help,
new OS didnt help,
new Recovery didnt help...
I have the same exact problem.
It did turn on randomly one night after restoring a back up. Stayed on all night, gone in the morning.

Im on ViperOne and the problem is still there.
I Wil go back to stock soon and try if that helps. Don't think it will cause I think it's hardware related. But have to go stock when I want it to sent in for warranty.

I bought a brand new second One M7 and flashed a backup from the "old" one. WiFi is working.
Running ARHD with experimental 14.11 I did a factory reset within TWRP 2.6.3.3 recovery on the "old" One and until now WiFi is already working for a day.
I thought it was hardware related but why is the "old" One working again....
And why is the new One has working WiFi with the exact same copy of OS....
Strange
Edit,
The "old" One WiFi stopt working.
Suddenly it was gone.
Going back to stock with that one and sent it in for repair.

After a lot of sending and receiving, the phone stayed at HTC and they sent me an m8 for the inconvenience...
Ok. So I can't tell u guys what the problem was.
Hola, I seem to have a similar issue to the OP. After flashing a 5.1 GPE ROM, wifi never worked again.
I tried different ROMs, different TWRP, different firmwares, and even reformated partitions using mkfs.ext4. Wifi still stuck at "Turning on..."
Do you guys have any ideas? Thank youuuu!
Try going to the root folders and delete the wifi folder from data/misc then restart the phone. Might work.
After running the command below on Maximus HD 46, I was able to turn on WiFi, but the connection would be unstable, with the adapter often turning off and on.
Code:
su
restorecon -FR /data/media/0

I tried removing wpa_supplicant.conf. Tried removing the entire folder, connection still resetting randomly.
How I fixed this issue.

Hello. I have created an account here just to share how I fixed this problem because I couldn't find that solution posted on any forum. It might be helpful for someone, but also I might have been the one that caused the issue in the first place. I have a rooted HTC One M7 running 5.0.2.
So, the "Turning on..." for me occured once my phone's battery completely drained. I have plugged the phone in the charger and it displayed 0%. Once the charge level reached 1% I turned on the phone and almost immediatelly turned mobile data off and wifi on. It was then when it got stuck. I have tried almost all the accepted solutions and none of them worked. As I didn't have time to keep trying to solve the issue I left the phone as it was, not trying to connect anymore but saying "Error" under Wifi in Settings.
I thought about what might have caused this and remembered that I have recently tried to use my phone as a wifi extender using the app called "fqrouter2". Within the app there is an option in configuration "Disable Wifi P2P" that should be, as recommended by the app, disabled if the app failed to work. I have, of course, tried it but it didn't work anyway. I have uninstalled the app and that was it. Wifi worked fine until my phone died. So I decided to reinstall the app and try the "Restore Wifi P2P" option. After restoring it I uninstalled the app and power cycled my phone. When it turned on wifi started working again as if nothing ever happened.
As I said, I might have been the cause of the problem in the first place and I doubt somebody had the exact same situation as mine, but I'll leave this here, just in case. Cheers

Latest update killed my watch

The latest android wear update completely killed my watch. Will not turn on. If it does boot, it flashes then turns off. At one point had got into recovery mode, still didnt provide any relief. Now it just wont turn on.
Mine went without any problems.

I thought my issue was related to being caught outside in the rain, but now that you mention it I've been fighting the very same issue ever since I upgraded too. My watch gets very warm to the touch and the screen won't turn on at all while the watch randomly vibrates. Holding the power button will eventually get the "Samsung Gear Live" splash screen to show, but then instead of going to the Android boot splash screen the screen goes completely black.
Of course my 1 year warranty expired one month ago.

Try going back to original 5.x.x and leave it plugged in while it re updates. Sounds like a bad dl.

^This.
Mine downloaded the update without even being connected to my phone. It was just sitting on the charger connected to the Internet via WiFi and it downloaded the update while I was at work. I came home to it saying "Update Downloaded" or whatever and had it update without connecting to my phone once.
I'm not sure how to fix your watch tho. Unless you had USB debugging enabled in Developer Settings before it went haywire, I'm not sure how to restore it to an older FW.
Well another update hit me today and I had no problems with it either.
