Sorry if I repeated a thread but I didn't find one with a similar problem.
I have a Moto G 2014 with Lollipop 5.0.2 and the problem is when I use the Stock Camera App the Moto G after a while It's overheat much that I need to shutdown and wait a while until It cools but If I use another app like Camera Z It doesn't happen, Somebody has the same problem?, I did a full wipe, wipe cache, uninstall Stock Camera updates and the problem persist.
Extra Data:
Stock Rom 5.0.2 (but It happen also on KitKat 4.4.4)
Bootloader Lock
No Root.
Thanks for all.

is it ok if i update my rooted .136 to .681 KK via OTA , i know i will lose root, my question is will there be bugs or instability that i will experience due to updating without wiping data, disregarding the know bugs for KK.

Yes you will loose your root
Yes there are a ton of problems on the KK, like sound problem, overheating, battery drain, camera problem etc...
No issue for me on LB Rooted with NUT 681.Full wipe and Factory Reset.

I had a lot of issues in KK, even in stock KK....the sound is really a must work....and for me it wasnt working, i want to listen to music in the train...and it goes all the time to the external speaker....
I've go back to .136 rooted....
i found kk a little quiet, easily fixed with a sound mod
So I've recently unlocked the bootloader thanks to SunShine. I previously froze the Moto updater app in Titanium so as not to continually receive prompts to upgrade. Since I'm not unlocked, rooted and have TWRP running.. Would it be worth my time to upgrade to 4.4.4?
1. What are the benefits or drawbacks of upgrading or is it so minor I'm barely going to notice a difference?
2. I don't want to screw anything up. I want my Xposed apps and everything I have now running great.
3. If I do upgrade is it difficult to re-root (assuming I will indeed lose root) or is it as simple as reinstalling SuperSU?
4. Is "okay Google Now" any faster? I'd use it more if it wasn't so incredibly slow.
5. I assume there will be no data wipe if I upgrade, correct?
6. Is it even worth it to upgrade? Better cell service? Faster or slower os?
Side Question: Can anybody recommend good WiFi Hotspot app now that I'm unlocked and rooted?

You can upgrade and flash custom recovery and root on any Android version now.
Will 4.4.4 change much? No. But there's no reason not to. You may need it for future X feature updates perhaps. Not sure.
Supposedly 4.4.4 lowered Android O/S battery usage, though my wifes 4.4.2 is fine... So again, up to you.
I don't see how updating will hurt anyway. But... Once you do, there's no going back.
Also on 4.4.2 AT&T unlocked through Chinese, have been planning to update to 4.4.4 now that it's rolled out to AT&T, mostly to see if the supposed camera improvements are better, and though I don't use the video recorder, I like that they added the pause (I was surprised when I couldn't find it)
I believe I just need to uninstall xposed, unfreeze any system apps, flash stock recovery, take the update, and reinstall TWRP
I've noticed since I got L my phone's battery is absolutely horrible, it heats up like crazy even if it's just in my pocket, it's almost always awake... I thought lollipop was supposed to increase battery life. If anybody has any solution please share it. I can't even get a full day yet on kk I would get like 3 days
Not sure how you got lollipop installed... but I know that a full wipe before install helps eliminate gremlins from the previous rom causing a conflict with the new rom.
Even with a stock OTA update to 5.0 on my wife's S4, she has had a lot of glitches. Having to uninsyall and reinstall apps and such to get them to work.
When I updated my note 3 to the stock rooted 5.0 I did a full wipe and had significantly worse battery life than on 4.4.4.
On my note 3, I recently did a full wipe and installed the dompop v2.2.3 rom (lollipop) and my battery life is good again.
Have you at least tried wiping dalvik & cache?
Try this
I full wiped when I installed. I will give Dompop a try. Thanks I appreciate it. I tried the disable carrier iq prior to starting this thread.
Hello,
After updating my Moto G2/2014 to Android Lollipop (5.0), the phone has become very slow and almost unusable. Any idea what I can do besides rooting it and flashing a new ROM?
Thanks,
Crazysah
Have you tried a factory reset?
I'd recommend cm12.1 if you do go for a custom ROM.

Yep. Tried a factory reset with no luck. Asked a few friends and they are having the same problem as well.
Find out about how to wipe the cache partition via the boot loader - that should help.

Well, to speed things along, I would try turning on "force GPU rendering" under your developer options. You can also try turning off WiFi while the screen is off.
I've format my phone yesterday to factory default, swipe cache, etc, no i cant use towelroot, a few months ago i've updated the phone to 4.4.2 ver.
