Hello,
After updating my Moto G2/2014 to Android Lollipop (5.0), the phone has become very slow and almost unusable. Any idea what I can do besides rooting it and flashing a new ROM?
Thanks,
Crazysah
Have you tried a factory reset?
I'd recommend cm12.1 if you do go for a custom ROM.

Yep. Tried a factory reset with no luck. Asked a few friends and they are having the same problem as well.
Find out about how to wipe the cache partition via the boot loader - that should help.

Well, to speed things along, I would try turning on "force GPU rendering" under your developer options. You can also try turning off WiFi while the screen is off.

Just a couple weeks ago, my brother received a Sprint Moto X from a friend, because he said it had a virus and his phone would reboot at random. My first thought was, "Oh, simple RSD Lite restore should do the trick." But, i can't find 212.44.28 4.4.4 for the Sprint version anywhere. Not the rom, the xml.zip. My question for everyone is this: is this a bad update, or a virus? I've only reset it within the phone via recovery, so would an RSD Lite flash do the trick?

Have you tried wiping the cache partition? I haven't heard of a sprint 4.4.4 xml.zip file being released, but when it is, it'll quickly make it's way to this page http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=0
Yeah I cleared the cache. I noticed it took around 15-25 minutes, and it restarted when it was done. Is that a bad sign?

Actually no. it was just clearing the cache, and just restarted out of the blue. Powered up as if it was turned off. (Not sure if i quite understand what you're referring to)
When you wipe dalvik and cache, Android OS has to rebuild the cache which it does when you see "Android is upgrading x of xxx"
Never experienced any of my Android devices rebooting in its own after wiping dalvik and cache.
Hi all,
So I have a Moto G (2nd Gen). I received the OTA update sometime early Feb. We were the first to receive it in India.
So one day it started updating via my data pack and mid-way the data pack got over and the update was halted.
Restarted the phone and I saw that it was still in KitKat 4.4.4.
I tried manually checking for the update but all I get is this message "Last checked for update at hh:mm:ss" where the hh:mm:ss is the current time.
I tried restarting, force restarting the phone but I still can't get the OTA update message. Can someone please help me.
My phone is unrooted and runs the stock android
Thanks
Purav

Yes, it is a good advice to clear Cache on recovery first.
But one sure way for you to get the OTA file again is to do a factory reset, but with that you will have to reinstall all of you apps and do the configuration all over again.
Keep in mind, if you root the phone, or change the recovery, the OTA update will not get installed at all, even if it being downloaded.

Sorry if I repeated a thread but I didn't find one with a similar problem.
I have a Moto G 2014 with Lollipop 5.0.2 and the problem is when I use the Stock Camera App the Moto G after a while It's overheat much that I need to shutdown and wait a while until It cools but If I use another app like Camera Z It doesn't happen, Somebody has the same problem?, I did a full wipe, wipe cache, uninstall Stock Camera updates and the problem persist.
Extra Data:
Stock Rom 5.0.2 (but It happen also on KitKat 4.4.4)
Bootloader Lock
No Root.
Thanks for all.

Hello,
For a while now my second generation Motorola G has been having a problem, which I can't define exactly what happens, but here are the "symptoms":
Some of the apps start crashing;
Apps stop being able to load pictures;
Camera stops being able to take pictures.
The only way I can get the phone back to normal is by restarting it. After the restart, there are usually some effects, like:
Random photos disappear or duplicate;
Some app's cache and data are cleared.
I have tried replacing the sd card, clearing the cache partition and factory resetting the phone, but nothing has worked so far.
Here is some more info about my product:
Moto G 2nd Gen XT1068
Android 6.0
24.81.3.titan_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03 reteu
Please let me know if anything else is needed in order to help me.
