Sprint LG G4 wont cut on - Sprint LG G4

Last night my phone randomly froze and it restarted. Ever since then it keeps freezing and restarting itself. Its now to a point where the G4 is stuck on the bootloader and wont cut on at all. I have never rooted the phone and it is up to date. Any help?

Bring it into Sprint.

is there a way i can return this back to stock/factory reset the phone through a computer?

You might be able to do a standard factory reset from recovery, but it doesn't sound like your phone will even make it that far. Seriously, just get a new one from Sprint.

yes but they will still make me pay a price because there something wrong with the phone physically

Try holding power + vol down at the same time. Hold it until it boots into recovery. Then factory reset. Hopefully this will work.

As far as I know, bricking a radio update would atleast still allow you to turn the phone on, it would just be stuck at initializing the bootloader, correct me if I'm wrong anyone--
Also I would not bring it into a verizon store. Wait until the official OTA is released, then say you had a problem with that.

Just let your service continue as normal.
Also, silly question, I know, but have you tried variations of plugging it in/unplugging with/without battery?
And when you plug the phone in, does the charge light come on?

The update should be here in less than a month. Didn't you get the insurance? Just claim it lost/stolen. If you have a moral dilemma in doing that then just toss it in a dumpster or a lake. Then claim it lost/stolen.

Can you hold power + optical button to boot to bootloader and recovery? If so you could possible get it fixed of you follow this guide:
http://androidforums.com/all-things...16-how-revert-back-earlier-version-hboot.html
If your phone doesnt function at all you could attempt the following.
You could just say this at a Verizon store.
I charged my phone last night, when I woke up this morning the back of the phone was extremely hot almost to hot to hold and when I tried to turn the phone on or whatever you want to say pressed the power key, etc it would not turn on or you could say your screen came on for a second and then went out and the phone powered down and would not come back on.
Or
if you have insurance just say it was stolen, lost, dropped in a lake, etc.

Strange--i'm not sure if a bricked radio would cause that, but it could perhaps indicate another issue. Does the radio's firmware also control the phones power/charging system?

I guess if that gets nuked the only way to recover it would be a manual hot-air removal and a manual reflash of the chip itself (good luck finding the papers for it), and then reflowing the chip back to the board (also assuming here it's one NAND). You'd think with the way these things work they would have a fail-over chip or something, phone falls off desk during OTA, battery goes flying. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
explain exactly what you did, and what it did. as much detail as possible.

1. i downloaded PB31IMG from the leaked 2.2 thread last night. (old pb31img). installed and got it running. he said install official OTA but none pushed to me.
so i downloaded the new PB31IMG and installed over. BUT after installed, the phone reboot and running great.
2. next, i download the leaked OTA and rename it to update *zip file*
3. i boot into recovery and start the update. after that it said something like, hit power button/reboot to continue the process. so i did. after that a green circle with arrow point counter-clockwise showed up and after a moment it turned off and on *same green icon* and off again. after that nothing happens.

Phone wont power off?

Hello everyone. Im having this really odd issue where the phone wont power off. I press and hold the power button down, and choose "POWER OFF" and it does the animation of powering off, then it goes dark....then in about 2-3 seconds it powers back on. Now i do have Fast Boot unchecked. Im also rooted and running the Dev edition of the HTC One. If i boot into recovery and choose the option to shutdown, it still reboots on its own. Very odd. Anyone care to help me out? Thanks
seems like cache error. try to clear cache in recovery.. if nothing happens .. clear data .. . yup then you will lose all data. but u will get into system atleast

Yea. But im having a bit of an issue even with that. I consider myself a seasoned vet at this kind of stuff, but seem to be having a hard time with it. I tried to flash the RUU and it failed about 25% thru it, and now im at an HTC logo with exclamation signs on each corner. Kind of at a loss...but ill keep in screwing with it.
ok, so i reverted back to stock using the RUU and it STILL DOESNT TURN OFF!! I dont know what to do anymore. Faulty hardware? Kind of weird when everything else works fine.

Nothng else you can do on your end. You've done it all. Tell them you installed the ruu and that didnt work. If its from a carrier, ATT, t-mobile.. Just take it to a corporate store, they should replace it. If its a Dev edition, gotta send it in. For me it wouldnt be much of an issue because i never turn my phones off.. But if you do turn them off, this is a major issue lol. They should replace it no problem.

Yea it is a developer edition phone. Ive done evrerything i can think of and i think i may need to send it in. What sucks is that i have already added my zagg on the back and added an SGP screen protector and i would hate to waste them. I also normally dont turn my phone off (if ever) but i dont want to end up with more hardware issues down the line. Im contemplating sending it back to HTC and ordering the Google edition when that is available..but im kind of happy with it as is. I have HTC on the phone now...lets see what they say. At this point im kind of curious as to why its doing this.

[Q] Newbie boot loop problem?

Hi everyone, I'm sure this question has been answered before but being a complete noob, I honestly don't understand ANY of the technical terms such as "rooting", "flashing", "ROMS", etc etc. So most of the answers I have read make zero sense to me.
My phone started bootlooping when it was in my bag and I have no idea why it started doing so. The battery ended up draining enough to get it out of the bootloop and it was working fine for a day or so, until I put it back in my bag to go out and when I took it out, it was bootlooping again.
What I am trying to ask is what might be the cause of this and is there anyone who can explain how to fix this issue (in simple terms) so that I'd understand?
Cheers.
mine is doing same!

Well I don't know what rooting or mods are, so I doubt it is anything like that. The only things I've really done with my phone are install apps from the play store, torrent music using utorrent and save images/pictures. I thought that maybe it was due to my phone overheating in my bag as it has been rather hot the past few days. Could that be a possible reason?

since it seems you haven't done anything to your phone (ie unlocking, custom ROMs, etc), this could likely be a hardware problem.
how's the power button working? damaged?
you can also do a factory reset in bootloader, power off your phone, then hold VOLDOWN, press POWER, keep holding VOLDOWN until the bootloader appears (the white screen, with a few options), you use VOLUP and VOLDOWN to move the "cursor" and POWER to select the option you want.

if it's rebooting in bootloader, then it's very likely the power button that's the problem, for example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563572

hardware problems are very hard to fix; and i'm not saying it's the power button for sure, it's just highly likely it is, if it's rebooting bootloader.

The problem with my phone is that I found it. Turned it in and no one claimed it for a substantial amount of time so I gained ownership of it. I don't have the warranty or anything that came with the phone except for the phone itself and the charger. If I took it to a phone repair shop would they possibly be able to fix it? Or am I screwed...
Okay so I let my phone run out of battery over night and just plugged it in to charge then and it's seemed to have gotten out of the bootloop and it working normally now, so would this still possibly be a hardware issue? And is there anything I can do to prevent it from bootlooping again?
i phoned up orange and they said to ring htc as ive only had the phone for 5 months . will ring them 2moro. pain in the ass.

Im not sure this is hardware related, there are a few things you can try though to prevent this from happening again. first off, if you ever do encounter another bootloop... pressing and holding in the power button for around 20 seconds or so forces a reboot, the capacitive button on the bottom will start to blink. Second would be to boot into thee bootloader by powering down the phone, holding the volume down button and powering back on while holding voldown. this will bring you to a menu described above eariler, then do a factory reset.

[Q] Why does My HTC One M7 Turns Off After Factory Reset?

Hey guys. I'm planning on selling my HTC One M7 since I recently upgraded. I did a full data reset to bring it back to how it was out of the box. I then SIM unlocked it with my unlock code and currently don't have a SIM sitting in it.
When you turn it on it'll bring up the Get Started/Emergency screen so you can begin to set up your new phone. Everything looked good, so I let the screen timeout. A little while later I come back and find the phone turned off on it's own. I power it back on and see it still has a lot of battery left. I leave it alone again and about 2 hours later I find it turned off again.
Is something wrong with the phone? It was working great up until I did the reset and now this happens. Or is it maybe some sort of power mode thing that shuts it off on it's own after a while since it hasn't been set up yet. I've tried to Google for answers, but come up with nothing.
Help! Thanks!

probably, only way to know is to go trough the setup and see if it reboot again, then you could factory reset the phone again.

Thanks. That did the trick. Once the phone was setup, no more problem. I guess it must be a power saving thing while still in fresh out of box mode.

Note 5 Broke itself for no reason, won't boot to Android OS

Just looking for opinions. I have a stock note 5, no jail breaking or weird loads. Just a run of the mill Note with way too many candy crush saga apps. We weren't even using it a couple days ago when it turned itself off. Reboot just got it stuck in an endless boot cycle. Loading normal or safe mode gets you the android 'no command' blue screen of death.
I figured maybe bad update...possibly load new firmware. Samsung's smart link application doesn't work, as apparently I don't have a S/N, it doesn't exist and you need that for smart link. (It's not the IMEI.) Anyway, Samsung over the phone told me to try a best buy samsung rep, they'd flash it for free. I thought that sounds safe. But they couldn't get it to recognize my phone....Verizon won't help me, I'm past the year warranty. But still owe too much money to pay it off and get a new one through them...That leaves flashing it myself with Odin. So I did. It went ok, it said it PASSED, the phone rebooted....It started a little config in what looks to be a factory reset type screen...it got to 'erasing', refresh arrow spinning to show me it was going, then it just stops. The world stops and no amount of letting it sit every gets it to go again. Rebooting still has 'no command' and no signs of life.
Any thoughts on what might be going on? Anything else to load or try? The phone's no good to me ****ed, so I'm open to suggestions. Likewise, does it sound like any hardware related things? Is there any hope? would love to hear a first impression from someone more experienced with phones and Android.

Same Problem it looks like. Odin does it's thing for about 3 minutes. Says 'PASS'. Phone restarts, does some initializing bar moving stuff for 10 seconeds, it switches to 'Erasing' then the phone just stops
That's unfortunate dude.
I'm really sick of Samsung phones. They're just terrible. As someone who's had to replace their screen twice and battery three times, it shouldn't be difficult to replace the motherboard.
This happened to my NOTE 5 (SM-N920V) as well
YOUR NOT ALONE! THIS SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY NOTE 5
I was fishing, this morning at about 7am when my phone rebooted all on its own to the same Samsung Boot Logo screen then stuck as well. NO RYHME NO REASON, I have never, ever cracked, hacked or smacked this phone either,:highfive:
"The only updating that has been done has come via Verizon/Samsung..." But none recently ...that I recall as in, the last week or so.
While I will admit doing "it" (hacking, cracking, modding,) to other android phones (Obviously or I wouldn't have a membership here). But this Note 5? No... Maybe perhaps that's why its broken now? LOL...
It does always seem that my continued membership here is not in vain though, ......
For now, I will do whatever it takes to get it back... .......next to buying a new phone or it not coming back on ever.
I will share here what I did to resolve the issue. And I will without a doubt utilize "EVERY" resources here at XDA-DEVELOPERS to do it, and happily without the help of Verizon or Samsung.
So far I have determined that my Note 5 version is not commonly referenced here which is: the SM-N920V (Verizon U.S)
Thank you XDA-Developers this is why we need informational communities like this in our lives! :victory:
Even though I may still go nutz during this repair... if it happens.... Wish us luck!

What you need to do is in Odin options... Uncheck auto reboot. Find the exact .PIT file for your model and put it in odins PIT spot and ignore that it says it's for developers only just add the PIT anyway and in options again where you unchecked auto reboot make sure you check NAND erase all and then add your firmware and after odin flashes it and finally says PASS then disconnect the phone and then hold the volume down button and power button at the same time and when the screens turns off let them go and as soon as it comes back on select nothing but factory reset and when it gets into the recovery mode if it list options and you see factory reset a few lines down use the volume down button to move down to highlight the factory reset option and hit the power button and on the next page again go down to YES and hit the power button again and then let it finish and reboot and least give the phone a good 20 minutes after it's rebooted to get itself setup and to the point where you can start setting it up the same way you did the day you turned it on for the very first time.. Let me know if this works and don't skip any steps.

The newer Samsung's do not use eMMc they use the newer UFS 2.0 which is why the note 5 and S6 never got micro sd slots. I could be wrong here but I don't think so.

Worth a shot.
Where the hell can I find pit files at? why is this **** so obscure on google search. I can't find **** all. It took me forever to find a fireware that appears to work. I'm having no luck finding .pit files

Well ****, we're worse off than when we were before. I don't know if this in indicative of a hardware problem, but now that the battery has had time to drain, I plugged it in and left if for a day, but any time the cord is plugged in the phone is stuck in an infinite no command/reboot loop, and I can't get to download mode with up arrow + home + power like I could before. With the phone unplugged it has no life whatsoever.
Could this be a battery issue the whole time?

Yes and it sounds like a hardware issue by draining that fast.. Did you try holding the volume down button and power button until it reboots?

So When it was plugged in to my comp it would not go into download mode...If I unplugged the cord, it would not turn on.
I got a wall outlet charger instead, with that plugged in I could get to download mode, and when I tried to turn the phone on without the wall charger it gave a 'battery 0%' warning...
Anyway, I got it to down load mode, unplugged the wall charger, moved it to the comp and did the flash with the pit file...Odin said it passed. I restarted the phone, picked factory reset. It installs a few quick things, goes to 'erasing' and after about 20 seconds, freezes, same as last time. Now it's back to no command

How long did you let it sit there? Do the factory reset again and let it sit there for a little bit and see if it eventually goes. If not boot into recovery again and read to see what version firmware is listed.

It kicks itself off and goes to a 'no command' after the erasing screen gets stuck and quits 'twirling' for awhile. I don't know how to see a firmware listing. I can't get to a recovery mode(using that terminology to google some screenshots, I don't have that). The phone boots to maintenance mode only...any option I pick there goes to no command. I can use the vol down + home + power to get into download mode so it will be seen by the pc. That's about it

That means that it didn't flash fully.. What firmware version did you flash in odin? And you can see the phone version again by going into download mode too it should be right at the top after pressing the volume up.
