Hello,
I tried to install the new andoird wear 5.1.1 from this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-watch-r/general/install-android-wear-5-1-1-to-lg-g-t3114528
and after step 4 i close the "fastboot flash system system_gwr_5.1.1.img" before the install is done (i wait an hour and nothing append).
And now i stuck on the LG logo.
I tried to install again by the guide, but i cant use fastboot, it's write "wating for device".
What to do?
Thanks!
Edit: now the watch reach to the Android system but I have problem with the touch screen that not response. And because of that I can reach to the bootloader and the recovery mode...
Try to hardreset the watch. When you start your watch up and see the LG logo wipe fron 11 to 4 accros the screen.

No. You also have this problem?
There is a lot of people with this problem in this forum...
Someone know a place that specializes in android wear watches? (please send me, no one knows how to solve this problem here )
try the adb command "adb devices" and "fastboot devices"
I don't think the first one would work (because you are in fastboot mode), but the second should tell if the pc "sees" the watch!
I had to manually install the "android adb composite" device driver in the win device manager...

The computer does not recognize the watch at all...
same here
well, same here: no touch screen, device is not recognized (but boots up to welcome screen) => not able to get into bootloader. Guess, I have to activate developer/debugging mode in the Wear-settings to get it recognized. But how, without touch? Any ideas?
So do you think there is hope for unbricking the watch R from that state ? (mine is the same)
Maybe LGFlashtool will work ? maybe TOT firmware file will be available ?
I am having the same issue after trying to install the stock rom, probably a wrong rom. The watch boots onto a lg logo, stays for a minute or so and reboots into a a boot loop. There is no way to access bootloader or fastboot. Swipe to enter bootloader does not work, tried hundred times, it is like the screen were unresponsive. I have no idea what to do, seems it is bricked.
If I keep pressed the physical button then reboots but lg logo again after a long vibration. Drained the battery, put it on the cradle and then boots onto the lg logo.
anyone?
anyone here has found a solution for this issue?
I am also in the same situation. LG logo stuck after installing a new rom, unresponsive screen no mather if connected to the charger or not. Tried with different computers and OSses, the watch is not recognised.
had this problem as wrong I used the wrong kernel, but I managed to make it work again. this is what you have to do is boot it to bootloader mode, then go to recovery mode and use the "apply update from adb" function (sideload in other words) to install the Android 6.0.1 again.
Link to download Android 6.0.1.
To put the watch in bootloader mode, follow the instruction in my youtube video here.
As soon as it is in bootloader mode, your computer should see the watch as an android device now.
In Bootloader mode, go to recovery mode (use the virtual buttons on screen), then go to the "apply update from adb" option.
Now, at this step, you need to open command line on your computer and type "adb sideload <android file>", where the <android file> is the one you download earlier. You can just type "adb sildeload" then leave a space and drag the file to the running Cmd window.
Now just wait for it to complete and restart itself.
Hope this help.

Terrific video but for one problem: My N7 doesn't seem to want to go into Recovery.
Using adb reboot recovery gets me into the red triangle screen, but pressing Power+VolUp just gets the Google logo and pressing all three buttons just restarts it. Something is screwy and I've wasted about three hours on messing with it. I never get the screen shown at 3:41.
If I cold start it by pressing Power+VolUp+VolDn, it brings up a screen with an Android on its back with the body open and a big green Start pointing to the Power button and arrows next to the volume buttons. In the lower left in white computer type is:
FASTBOOT MODE
PRODUCT NAME - grouper
VARIANT - not defined yet
HW VERSION - ER3
BOOTLOADER VERSION - 3.34
BASEBAND VERSION - N/A
SERIAL NUMBER - xxxxxxxxxxx
SIGNING - not defined yet
LOCK STATE - LOCKED
Pressing up or down twice brings up Recovery and pressing Power switches to a Google logo and that's the end of the show.
I followed your "How to install the Android SDK, ADB and Fastboot on your PC" video without a hitch (thank you for that one, too) and I have USB debugging turned on (as proven by adb reboot recovery working), so what the heck is going wrong with getting it past the red triangle screen?
EDIT: I'm bone stock, no root.

I have the same exact same problem, except my bootloader is unlocked. Tried everything I could think of, and it still doesn't go into android recovery.
Insert your USB cable and make sure it's plugged into a charger or PC.. Recovery won't appear unless you are plugged in. It's an odd bug fixed when you update
I've been plugged in to both a charger and the PC. Come on, if I've fired off adb recovery reboot, doesn't that automatically suggest that I'm connected to the computer? I press Power+Volume Up and it does NOT instantly go to the screen it should, but brings up a Google logo and sits there forever.

Great video! I might just be using this in the near future. I plan on waiting for the factory image (I just like having a full install on my devices when possible) instead of using just the zip file (that is if I dont get the update). Although if the update isnt showing up sometime soon then this is going to work for me just fine.

for some reason its not working for me. im fully stock, no root, locked bootloader. my pc recognizes N7 adb host and goes into recovery, but when i write the command "adb sideload 03a4eaf95f73.signed-nakasi-JZO54K-from-JRO03D.03a4eaf9.zip" it doesnt send it and just shows me the help info for adb. any suggestions why?
Thanks in advance
Same issue, when I "adb device" it will sometimes show as "device" and other times as something else (don't recall but not device). I can get into recover via "adb reboot recovery" and then into "update via adb" but when I "adb sideload.....(see above)" it just runs through the different commands as if "sideload" is not an option? Followed the video to a "T" and nothing.....thinking about rooting and doing it the old fashion way but this is the first android device I've had that I've not seen a reason to root right away...maybe should just wait for the OTA?

While in stock recovery and in the "apply update from adb" screen, type in the command window "adb devices". It should say:
<your device serial number> sideload
If it does not, check the drivers in device manager. You may need to manually install it. I had to on mine.
Cheers qbking77, worked a treat.
First time I pushed using adb & after following your tut life is good. Thanks again!

It should say 8sdgfs3JKSDBFkjk3 device or something like that. If it does not, you need to install the the correct driver.
My computer did not recognize my tablet at first. I went to this thread and installed PDAnet which installed the driver.

Hey everybody!
This is my first time posting something on XDA. This is really cool.
So I just bricked my fire, hard. Let's start from the top:
- I used the super tools rootjunkysdl.com/?device=Amazon%20Fire%205th%20gen&folder=SuperTool to get the google play store.
- Using the google play store, I got flashfire.
- Using flashfire, I flashed SlimLP onto my tablet successfully and quickly.
- I got a little cocky, and based on the comments on the youtube.com/watch?v=NaCBSuUuhRE video that I used to flash SlimLP I decided to try the flashfire technique with CM since it is my favorite ROM.
- I did everything properly and the same, but... it got stuck here... for about an hour...
imgur.com/QJvmRz3
So I decided to do the smartest thing ever and cancel it myself by turning it off, I wasn't able to do anything else anyway. Either way, my tablet is now stuck in the cyanogen 12 boot load animation, the one of the cute blue head with the radar effect.
I would of fixed this a long time ago, but for some reason I'm not able to adb sideload.
I go into fastboot, I can detect the device, but not adb sideload.
I go into adb sideload mode, I can't detect the device, so definitely not sideload. :/
I've tried updating my drivers, I don't know if I'm doing it right, but while it was in fastboot mode, I changed it to Android Composite ADB Interface, and that didn't change anything.
No matter what I'm doing, whenever I do adb devices, I always get:
List of devices attached
Blank. Nothing. Only when I'm in fastboot mode do I get:
fastboot devices
G0K0H40454261ARU fastboot
Something, but still no ADB. I can't even load TWRP here, tried that, I just install it and it just sits there dumbly saying it's installed.
I'm bricked just like my tablet. Could I please get some help here? I'm very desperate to get this tablet back up and running, and I feel so stupid for not having stuck with Slim and trying to install CM. I really don't want it to stay bricked like this.
Thank you, XDA!
Do you know if you had amazon FireOS version 5.0.1 or 5.1.1?
Just to be clear, you have actually selected the adb sideload option on your Fire when you try to connect with adb on you pc, correct? ADB is not even active until the adb sideload option has been selected.

We can not "install" twrp. The bootloader is locked & won't allow it. We can only temporarily load twrp into memory. Each time we want to use twrp, we must connect usb to a pc, enter fastboot mode & load twrp. But this can only been done on 5.0.1 Fires. It's been blocked on 5.1.1. No way to load twrp at all on 5.1.1.

Do you have any ideas on how to do this? I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you!
Since I haven't read anyone try it before, there would be some risk. I suppose you are already bricked, seemingly without a way to fix it, but you could brick it harder. You might be able to get adb working. I may not have any ideas on how to get adb working for you, but someone else might know. If you try flashing the stock OS via fastboot, there is a chance you could brick it in a different way.
The command would be
Code:
fastboot update <filename-of-stock-firmware.zip>
But we don't have a .zip stock firmware file. In twrp recovery you can just rename the .bin file to .zip & it works. Not sure if that will also work for fastboot. My guess is it won't work & might brick you.
Also be aware, on Fires that self-updated to FireOS 5.1.1 (or came with 5.1.1 new) you must only flash 5.1.1. Attempting to flash 5.0.1 will brick it 100% of the time & it's unrecoverable.

I just want to say thanks to everybody who contributed, I'm really appreciative of the support, especially because I didn't expect it, haha! Listening to blueberry.sky I'm going to try the flashboot update, because it's either that or a bricked device. School just started so I got busy with that.

So when I have it in adb mode, the fire doesn't seem to show up anywhere in any of my devices, and I can only find it when it's in fastboot mode. So when it's in that mode, I've tried Android ADB Interface, Android ADB Composite Interface, and when I go back to adb sideload, it's just not there in device manager. I don't know what this means, so any speculation? But no matter what mode I'm in or what driver I'm using, I can't seem to get it to show up in adb when in sideload mode.
Again, thanks everybody, and I hope anybody else in the future with this issue can refer to this thread for a lead!
So I just tried to flash update the firmware from Amazon amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201830180 which I renamed from .bin to .zip:
C:\path\to\SuperTool>fastboot update update-kindle-global-37.5.4.1_user_541112720.zip
archive does not contain 'android-info.txt'
archive does not contain 'android-product.txt'
error: update package has no android-info.txt or android-product.txt
I didn't rename the Slim and this is what I get:
C:\path\to\SuperTool>fastboot update Slim-ford-5.1.1.build.2.2b-20151210.zip
archive does not contain 'android-info.txt'
archive does not contain 'android-product.txt'

Is there anyway I can resolve this, so I can do SOMETHING?

So when you say you go into "adb sideload mode. You selected "apply update from adb", and the Fire device is actively waiting for the sideload command, but you got nothing showing up in your device manager at that point?
I'm just clarifying because until the "apply update from adb" is activated, windows doesn't get a communication from the Fire device.

CM logo and it sticks there permanently until I power off. When I boot to fastboot, the screen is blank but my Windows PC can see the device and return the SN. I can issue the command to reboot to bootloader, but reboots to fastboot with "fastboot" in small letters at the bottom of the screen. What else can I try? Thanks for all the help offered so far.

To get into recovery you start with the Fire off. Turn off by holding power button until it goes off (might take awhile). I just tried turning off from fastboot mode. Took only about 14 seconds of holding power.
To enter recovery: hold volume down button + hold power button.

When I try to get into recovery, it boots with a blank screen. At that point, I can connect to my PC, type fastboot devices, and it will show me device. Then I try to reboot-bootloader, and it reboots to fastboot, but this time it says fastboot on the screen. I can't seem to get to recovery
watch this video to see if it helps.

I tried to reboot and it is stopped at the LG screen as shown in the attach photo. I dont know what to do now, as I think it cant even connect and to the dock (still charging but not recognised at all by the PC). It would be great and very appreciated if anyone knows what I need to do? Otherwise it is an expensive paperweight now.
Thanks in advance.
P/S: This is my 1st post in XDA, so if anything wrong with my post please let me know, I will change. Thanks again.
Update
I managed to make it work again. this is what you have to do is boot it to bootloader mode, then go to recovery mode and use the "apply update from adb" function (sideload in other words) to install the Android 6.0.1 again.
Hope this helps.
This may not help, but try pressing the side button in for 20-30 seconds. Shortly after it stops vibrating, it will start rebooting again and then you can stop pressing the button.

Hi, I think I messed up with the wrong kernel is the reason of this issue, and I have been able to get to the fastboot menu, do you know how revert it back to the factory/out of box condition? Thanks.
I haven't tried this, but it may work for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wat...recovery-stock-recovery-image-v1-1-1-t3124452

Hi There,
I have the same problem after the update.
I followed your steps but to enter into recovery mode I had to enable USB debugging mode which cannot be done as the watch keeps on rebooting.
Please let me know is there any other way to enable usb debugging mode to enter into recovery?
I get this error on my pc when I enter into recovery " error device '(null)' not found adb"

Can anybody help me out in bringing my watch to life?
Great post. . . .
Driver Issue
I can get into the fastboot menu but my pc cannot recognize it. What is the appropriate method to connecting it. I have tried different cables, google driver, adb driver but the device doesnt even show up.
Hey everyone
Not sure if anyone can help
I just got some used 5th gen tablets, they were in a storage unit i just purchased. I turned on one of the fire units and it says it was a kids fire, so no real use to me. I hit power to standby and left it in my office, went back to list it and it was updated with new software. The second one, seems like it is stuck in a boot loop, comes on and goes off again. So i looked at the one that updated, said it now updated, had 5.6 on it, so i said maybe i could use it. Did some research, read you can but just android on it.
Well, i read you have to downgrade to 5.3 or older to install android. Not even sure if this is right.
So i followed some youtube genius with software from rootjunky.
I used the adb to flash update-kindle-global-37.5.4.2_user_542168620.bin
Everything was working, installing 100%, then i unplugged and selected 1 from the tablet to reboot.
Needless to say, nothing comes on now, no logo, no nothing, will not respond to recovery mode, down and power.
I just tried taking the back off and unplugging the battery and holding power 20 secs, nothing.
Anyone have any ideas to salvage these, or one of them or are they paperweights haha?
Good news is, the unit had all kinds of stuff in it, i have made my money back already, these were just bonus
Any help would be great, thanks

Permanently bricked; can't downgrade below 5.4. Sell it for parts or take it to the target range.
Thanks
Thanks for the reply
Ok, so the one that will not turn on at all , well technically it must be on when i plug it into my pc, it does chime, and then a few seconds later it chimes again. Like it is turning itself on and off, but because you can not see anything on the screen, you can not tell.
What about the second one? It turns on and you see amazon, but then it turns itself off. It does let you go to fastboot and recovery in the corner of the screen using the buttons. However, all you see is that, recovery only says recovery, does not go into the recovery menu.
Any ideas if the second one is recoverable?
Thanks

If you can not access the stock recovery menu there is no known method for recovering these devices with one exception: early build devices (bootloader version 5.00 & 5.01) can boot a twrp image from fastboot. If that works you'll be able to install a custom ROM (two choices) assuming nothing else is wrong with the hardware.
fastboot boot <twrp.img>
thanks
I must be doing something wrong again, i download the twrp.imga dn saved it in the fast boot adb folder. I put the kindle in fastboot mode, and plugged into pc, driver installed, from folder i went in to command prompt. in command prompt i added fastboot twrp.img and hit enter command prompt shows all the command prompts and definitions.
Is there something else i should do?
Thanks

You need to install this tool on the host PC. Make note of the installation folder as you will need to execute the fastboot command from there. You'll also need to copy any necessary files (eg: twrp image) to that folder unless versed in referencing other folders from the command prompt.
Keep in mind it is highly unlikely your looping device will be able to boot twrp. Only the earliest models had this vulnerability which Amazon quickly plugged.
I received my new sony 1 ii and have checked and the bootloader can be unlocked and the phone can be rooted. I thought I was away to the races but I'm mystified. I can't get the phone to boot into fast boot.
I appears I have the drivers in place and the phone is recognized by the computer but no luck with fast boot.
I have searched and can't seem to find out why this is. I suspect some kind of driver issue with win10 but when I connect to the computer with the phone off and hold the up-volume nothing happens. I have also tried to boot into recovery mode and that does not work as well. Any help would be appreciated.

On Sony devices you need to power off and hold volume up and plug in the USB cable. That should leave the blue LED to indicate fastboot mode. I'm not 100% sure since it's been a while since I've messed around with Sony devices
Thanks for the input. I have done that and am still unable to action ADB - It is a little confusing since the phone only shows the blue light and nothing else.
If I normally boot the phone it will register as an ADB device. I also find it strange that it will not boot into recovery. The android icon flashes but when you release it boots to safe mode. I assume it is a driver issue but it is not revealing its self to me . Cheers

The blue light is fastboot mode. There is no ui interface in fastboot for sony devices. Just a blue light and black screen.

Same person but had to change user name -- more on the issue
I managed to unlock the boot loader and it seems that at every step for rooting I am running into curve balls. Windows was not working for me so I managed to unlock the bootloader with Linux and going on to the next step I had to go back to windows to find a current factory ROM.
The next issue: going back to the "how to" I am unable to located boot.xxxxx.sin in the factory ROM and the closest I could find is boot_x-Flash-ALL-2389.sin and that doesn't work.
In the boot directory all files are bootloader_X_44 and a combination of zip and sin files
Can anyone steer me through the muddy waters
The factory rom was downloaded through XperiaFirm application

May I know how did you unlock the bootloader? Did you use xperia 1 as your device in https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/get-started/unlock-bootloader/#unlock-code?
I have already installed usb drivers and have the platform tools. But everytime I boot my device to fastboot, whether using "adb reboot bootloader" or power button + volume up, screen only shows black (led is solid blue). I did left it for a couple of minutes, nothing happened.

Yes I followed those. But may I know how long it took you to finish the unlocking?
Install ADB/SDK drivers
Download platform tools
Plug the device
Make sure adb can see my device
Use adb reboot bootloader command
Device booted to fastboot mode
Execute the command with the unlock code
...stucked here
If I miss something. Please do let me know

I assume you are using windows and I must say I gave up trying to get win10 to work and I was stuck at the same place you are. I then switched to linux and it went a lot smoother and I didn't need all those tools as laid out in the description.
In linux you must use the phone to go into fastboot mode if you boot from computer it actually boots to a visible screen on the phone and I didn't have connection that would take the command line commands. Linux is very good because if you are missing something it will give you a link or a command line input when you execute the ADB or Fastboot command.
I have run a windows/linux dual boot desktop for a while now and I'm no expert but coming from the era of command line I can muddle through. Sorry if I can't give you more info on windows but win10 is such a pain and I find that with a lot of things linux works better. If I didn't need adobe acrobat I would not even bother with windows.
cheers

Yes I am using w10. Will try linux later. I have searched everywhere and stucked at the same step. Thank you.
I have managed to unlock the bootloader and root the phone. But problem is. I can't write on the root folder.
More to this I think I might have located the boot file boot_X-flash-all-2396.sin but using magisk it returns no boot image found. I see the guide says use the canary built but that seems to have been shut down, so at an impasse here and am still reaching out for help - damn op phone were never this funky
I might as well put this one out there then -- Is there anyway to flash a op 8 pro in2025 to dual sim - it's the cause of this painful trip
I was reverting my phone to unroot and locked bootloader. And it is saying that "Your Device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and will not boot" loop.
I tried flashing it using the new flasher. But after flashing, it will do SONY boot loop. If I connect it to a charger it goes back to "Your Device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and will not boot" loop.
I can't use Sony Companion since it is saying that my battery is low, and I can't charge the phone since it will just continue looping.
Do you know/have any recovery.img?
Edt: Fixed my phone. Relocked the bootloader

Yes. Relock it using fastboot command.
I use ubuntu to do it. If you can run fastboot commands in windows10 lucky you.
