Nexus 6 Stuck in Bootloop On Stock Firmware - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

what can i do with bootlooped nexus ?
hi all
sorry for my bad English
my nexus is bootlooped and locked , the oem (what the hell is that google?) is not marked , and i've read 4 topic in here and have founded there is no way to fix it
so the only way is : send it for replacement ?
in my country Moto doesn't have any representation and i must send it to another country like France to change it , my question is : does Moto change it for free or do i have to pay for replacement?

If you can't enable unlock in developer's options and it won't unlock manually there is nothing the toolkit can do.

If fastboot format userdata and fastboot format cache or format cache and factory reset in stock recovery doesn't work and don't have TWRP recovery RMA is only option.

If you send first it should be free unless they have a small handling fee. If they send first will put a hold on a credit card for the amount it is selling for now. Will remove charge when they receive the device.

someone with hardly any experience i see. if you have twrp recovery, there is a chance. if you dont have twrp recovery, and you cant boot up to enable oem unlock, then you have no chance. no as in zero chances, no matter how much you disagree.

Doesn't matter if you disagree. In this case you are incorrect.
There is no way to unlock the bootloader of a non-booting device that complains about allowing oem unlock.

You can ignore the fact that Google labeled it "Sprint and USC". Many users on XDA report that it works just fine on XT1100.

Yes, I'm sure. And it is using a stock Google image, you can RMA it. No, you do not need to root, but you do need to unlock your bootloader to use the "fastboot flash" command in bootloader. Do not relock bootloader unless you have to RMA it.

Thanks for the swift response. Thing is i wont be able to RMA in any circumstances. i live in Pakistan & Motorola is not officially available in my country & i bought it from grey market. That's why i paid US$800 for 32GB

Android N OTA Failed

Hey guys,
Not sure if I am going to be able to do anything about this. I signed up for the OTA beta program, device downloaded the OTA. When I got to the flashing stage it went to recovery and failed for some reason. Now I am unable to boot the device just gets stuck at Google splash screen. Cannot OEM unlock in fastboot because it was not enabled in developer options prior so flashing any images is out of the question. Is there any hope for me past this point or is the device bricked?

reboot into bootloader mode and flash that way. OTA is the worst way to update, IMO.

the OTA wiped your custom recovery and didn't load the ROM properly !??!?!?! Yikes....................if your phone has stock recovery and the bootloader is locked then it is bricked and you need to send it in.
Device was completely stock, including recovery no custom recovery or root or anything.
That's strange....

did you have root before taking the ota? anyways, sounds like you have the first N brick.

They may....I think the big question is if they still have any in stock......anyways, let us know what happens....that's a very unfortunate situation. The first thing I did when I got my phone was unlock the bootloader and I have not re-locked it since.

This is even more unfortunate. You can use Android Pay with an unlocked bootloader. I've flashed my phone back to stock images with the bootloader unlocked and Android Pay works. It's not contingent on a locked bootloader, only factory stock images.

That's just a general warning. No bearing on AP.......well you may be able to sell the phone as some people may buy it. I'm sure someone out there has a way to get it back, but I'm not sure how. I recall seeing a thread where someone in Cambodia did the same thing and he took it to a shop that was able to reverse it.....

It looks like you are not the first to be bricked with an OTA update. There should be a sticky about this issue moving forward.

Count me in as one of the potentially many more that bricked his phone while trying out the Beta program via OTA...
sorry to tell you this , but with locked bootloader , your phone is hard bricked, no way to recover, only by sending it back to motorola or amazon if you bought from them. i sold about 100 pieces of nexus 6 to customers and my first advice to them is to check " Enable oem unlocking "
anyway email google and blame them for this and i am sure they will help

I'll add my request for you to share how the reset worked, in case any other XDAers would like to do the same.
Thanks
I've managed to reset phone not lock bootloader for the record.
For future reference, if I'm not mistaking, using ADB/Fastboot, you need to use the command fastboot oem relock or fastboot oem lock.
Alternatively, since you're already bootloader unlocked, you can place the device in EDL mode and use the MiFlashTool which has an option somewhere to lock.
I'm amazed nobody really answered this. I'll post the process later as I plan on relocking mine in order to be able to use Android Pay.

Samsung Pay isn't available for our device. If you installed it from an APK, I am more than positive it will not work since itost likely needs to be embedded into the system on a Samsung device. In short, it's a Samsung thing.

[Bootloader and TWRP] LG V40 Model LM-V405UA AT&T.

Hi everyone,
My device is LG v40 with model number: LM-V405UA of AT&T. Until now, I can't find a way to access the bootloader. I tried two way below:
adb reboot bootloader OR
turn off the phone (or reboot), as soon as it turns on, hold volume down while USB cable is connected
But nothing happens, my device just restart. I still don't know why?
Hope to see the answers!
Thank you very much,

2021 Unlock BootLoader for Free

I did a lot of research, and the only way to unlock the BootLoader for free is to use PotatoNV software. Just wanted to let you guys know, so that you dont waste your time.
Tested and it worked on P9 Lite and P20 Lite.
If you need a guide, i can make one.

I'm still trying to install TWRP so that i can use it to root and install custom roms :/
Hello, can you make that guide you said? It would be great because I have no idea where to start from!

Yes ! Its work on P9 Lite VNS-L21.
after use potatonv & unlock bootloader I get error " FAILED (remote: image verification error)" during installation TWRP in fastboot mode.
for fix this error , I unlock bootloader again with new bootloader code in fastboot.
type below command in fastboot :
fastboot oem unlock **************** (instead of * , type new bootloader code)

I WASTED MY time for that.Potatonv s****s because why need disassembly for that
