I've been trying to figure this out for a while. Hope someone can shed some more light on this for us.
Here's a list of safe to remove/freeze/disable files on the G4, including carrier IQ: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...obile-h811-t3168181/post62466845#post62466845
Voodoo will tell you if Carrier IQ is installed and what the files are. I believe on the G4 it is LTDDM.apk.
What is carrier iq? :/

After reading all of this mess about the Carrier IQ "rootkit" being installed on carrier devices, I was curious to know if the Nexus One has this same key-logging software deeply embedded.
I am hoping that it isn't, at least for the phones that were sold as unlocked/unbranded. The individual that uncovered this found it on his HTC Evo. So, is this limited to carrier branded devices?

Much appreciated!
Does anyone know if carrier iq has any software on the bionic or is there any other spyware that I should be aware of?
As of now, there are no accounts of any verizon phone that has Carrier IQ. Only AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile as of now are known to have had it.

thats a good story I wonder if theres any software on our verizon phones like carrier iq though. Im sure theirs something just a matter of time till we find it
Verizon probably does has something. But you would think one of the devs would have come across it by now!
I am an ex-Verizon customer, but according to my private sources, Verizon has tracking software on its Android devices, whether it be CarrierIQ, or any other software application.

The supposed secret codes for the galaxy s6 edge will not work on my phone. Online most of what I found is Verizon changed them for some reason. Anyone got any ideas? I would really like to use them. They are designed for good purposes so it seems odd that anyone would want them removed.

What "secret codes" you speak of? What does it do to the phone when you enter the "secret codes?"

Verizon purposely removes the secret code access from dialer. This has been the case with most/all Samsung variants on Verizon.
Not sure what your trying to access, but I would recommend this app. It may be able do/find what you need (and helpful none the less)

No, I don't... good question though. Their idiocy is inexplicable.

Seems like carriers do everything to make everything worse.
Just posting about this in the s8 forums. effen Verizon disables everything.... They finally decided to not have Samsung remove the headphones from their $800 phones
Because SIM Unlock is accessed this way, it's in Verizon's best interest to make unlock & carrier porting unaccessible - if not down right impossible.
? So much for freedom to unlock YOUR device.
I just want to get a confirmation from some of the experienced users here, as the carrier iq detector reports to me that my LG G4 does not have Carrier IQ on my phone, which feels great, but I'm not very informed on how it detects and if it's report is a guarantee that it doesn't exist.
Can someone else confirm we do not have Carrier IQ on our T-Mobile LG G4?
Yes we do. The only one that really finds it is Voodo CarrierIQ. There are several threads in the General G4 section that cover how to remove it.
Ahhh, ok, thank you so much for your reply. I'll sift through those to get it removed.
Anyone out there doing this? May change from ATT to TMOB and want to know if anyone has had success doing this as the bands aren't exactly the same.
Im receiving my unlocked note tomorrow and im on tmobile, i asked previously if any special setup is involved and the responses ive got was put your sim and you are good to go!!

I'm doing this right now and it's been good. I flashed the unlocked firmware and theres been no problem. I don't think volte works but I don't mind.
Did you have to flash a different firmware?
Try switching carrier thread if you have any issues...it cleans off previous csc code and allows for clean install of other carrier firmware...worked from Verizon and Sprint to T-Mobile...and back to XAA/XAA/XAA without ANY residual carrier stuff...
