Google Play Music Lockscreen Artwork - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I've noticed on my T-Mobile Note 5 while I'm listening to music that the lockscreen doesn't show the artwork for whatever I'm listening to...is it just me? I tried looking for the setting to re-enable this but I couldn't find anything. If I'm not mistaken; my Note 4 had the option to enable or disable it from within the setting of GPM app. So strange. Anybody have a clue about this? Thanks.

Poweramp isn't displaying album art on the lockscreen either, even though the option is enabled in its setting. Good job Samsung.

I can't get it to display on my t-mo note 5 either and it's driving me crazy.

I'm in the same boat here. I've been searching around and some people say it just doesn't work in 5.1.1 Touchwiz. I'd love to have it back tho!

(Pic) TV Controls in Notification.

For those that use the TV Controls on your note. I just found out that we can have the basic controls running in the notification panel. I find this a lot quicker than opening the app. You can find the setting in the menu.
Not to rain on your discovery, but that's pretty old news. That was on the note 3 as well as the note 10.1
He's right you know but I'm glad you finally figured this out maybe you have helped the Samsung noobs so how

Digital Car - Android Front End

Looking for a usable version of Digital Car. Here is a youtube video of it.

I've tried going to the google+ community and joining it to get the test version but it appears all versions have been removed from the Play Store.
Anybody have a copy?
Works fine for me when I follow the instructions. I'm installing it on my phone right now.
It's working on my end as well now. Odd....stupid internetz.
Its best https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nezdroid.cardashdroid
Tried quite a few of these apps for my dashboard tablet, and nothing beats proper setup with a regular launcher, xposed for optimizing UI and navigation with GravityBox and Gel Settings. As an example, added custom keys, so easily can change music track when outside player.
As music player i got fond of Poweramp for quite a few reasons, but mostly because of the swipe actions, so it's easy to change track without looking.
Tasker used to change some basic settings.
Dimblocker, to make sure screen doesn't dim while car is started.
Installed overlay, to put some floating widgets, as when i open Google maps for navigation, then i have poweramp widget floating top right.
Just listed some basic tweaks here, but point is that you can make a very nice setup without these in-car-apps.
Sadly Navbar xposed module isn't updated for Lillipop, which also added some nice features, but made workaround with GravityBox instead.

[Q] Lollipop lockscreen music controls

Hello all. I haven't gotten this phone yet, but I probably will in the next few weeks. A question I have is what does the music on the lockscreen look like? I can't really find any recent information. All I have found was pictures of leaked builds with just a little badge on the lockscreen with music controls. Is that still how it is with the full release of Lollipop? If anyone can post a picture of Google Play Music playing while on the lockscreen I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

Hi! If you have activated Active Display (Moto Display) you wont have any music control in the lockscreen...yes I know, it is ridiculos, maybe Motorola fixes this soon. If you have Ambient Display (Lollipop version of Moto Display) you have the controls like the lockscreen widgets you have in Kit Kat. Sorry I don't post a picture but I use Moto Display (because the performance, battery wise, is 1000 better than Ambient Display).

Is that a thing? Lol ridiculous indeed, it is not nice to kill stock features in favor of your own's like that, Moto.
Technically active display isn't the lock screen. The lockscreen is the lock screen. With music playing you get a "card" under the time on the lock screen. I'll set if I can find a pic
Here you go.

Wow that is ugly. So we have to do an extra step to go back a song by swiping down? I don't like that. And I am assuming if you turn off lockscreen notifications then you won't have any control over your music on the lockscreen.....
Correct.

Actually, it just uses the music app own notification widget, not the generic controls Kit Kat used. I use Poweramp, so look at the attached image.
I prefer this way. It's simple, yet customizable.
So there's still no way to control players through moto display? Not even with root?
I hope someone will fix this issue lollipop has with respect to the lockscreen music controls.
If you are a music lover then kittkat suits you better then lollipop for now.

Lockscreen Music Controls

With the advent of xposed for Nougat, I recently bit the bullet and made the upgrade from Marshmallow. I'm now running m00nlight 3.1 (b386).
I use the official smart cover which utilised music controls without even opening the case. This was useful for driving and generally protecting the screen.
I am an avid Poweramp user (currently using a version 3 alpha build). It used to use the default huawei lockscreen music widgets, but now it isn't working.
The option is enabled in Poweramp, the widgets work with the default huawei music player and Google Play Music app, but not a 3rd party app. I've also tried Poweramp 2 (Stable) and Stellio Music Player, to ensure it's not an app issue. This leads me to believe it's a ROM limitation.
I found a walkthrough here: https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-add-third-party-music-apps-emui-lock-screen/ but it already shows the Poweramp app as whitelisted for the lockscreen. I also added the Stellio app to hw_defaults.xml to whitelist it and that didn't work.
Furthermore, I downloaded a Huawei theme to provide a static wallpaper lockscreen as I read that could be an issue. No avail.
Xposed isn't currently enabled.
Do I have any options?
I'm interested in the much simpler customization:
To be able to jump to the previous/next song on the locked screen by using Volume Plus/Minus buttons (with the stock Music player)
This is possible with Xposed, GravityBox module...
Edit: Found a simple solution skipping songs on the locked screen by Vol +/- keys, installed Frinky MusicController from GooglePlay, it does not require root or so and it works fine with both YouTube (playlists) and Music

Samsung's Theme Customization service found wanting

Looking thru the setings for the lockscreen, and there is no way to force non localized results in themes. This falls in line with other Samsung services offered on the phone.
No English available and to the last setting, no option for switching to any customization based on mere preference.
furthermore no way whatsoever in the AOD tab of the customizations to select an AOD or lockscreen showing anything more than a black background and a doodle or poster/logo. Speaking up for the Album Art crowd here.
The Samsung Galaxy store, A complete bilingual experience hah
You can show music info on the AOD, but not thumbnails no. You have to tap on it to show the album art. I guess that's a power consumption thing.

I use Samsung A70 native music app and it lets me have a pretty cool AOD with the album art. I am pleased with this AOD. it doesn't have a customization which would go fullscreen but it's better on battery than fullscreen.
As faras I Know this is only possible wit the Samsung app.
