With the advent of xposed for Nougat, I recently bit the bullet and made the upgrade from Marshmallow. I'm now running m00nlight 3.1 (b386).
I use the official smart cover which utilised music controls without even opening the case. This was useful for driving and generally protecting the screen.
I am an avid Poweramp user (currently using a version 3 alpha build). It used to use the default huawei lockscreen music widgets, but now it isn't working.
The option is enabled in Poweramp, the widgets work with the default huawei music player and Google Play Music app, but not a 3rd party app. I've also tried Poweramp 2 (Stable) and Stellio Music Player, to ensure it's not an app issue. This leads me to believe it's a ROM limitation.
I found a walkthrough here: https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-add-third-party-music-apps-emui-lock-screen/ but it already shows the Poweramp app as whitelisted for the lockscreen. I also added the Stellio app to hw_defaults.xml to whitelist it and that didn't work.
Furthermore, I downloaded a Huawei theme to provide a static wallpaper lockscreen as I read that could be an issue. No avail.
Xposed isn't currently enabled.
Do I have any options?
I'm interested in the much simpler customization:
To be able to jump to the previous/next song on the locked screen by using Volume Plus/Minus buttons (with the stock Music player)
This is possible with Xposed, GravityBox module...
Edit: Found a simple solution skipping songs on the locked screen by Vol +/- keys, installed Frinky MusicController from GooglePlay, it does not require root or so and it works fine with both YouTube (playlists) and Music

I noticed recently that navigation cutoff my stock music player and restore the music differently than what I can remember.before it used to lower the volume then cutoff, announce the navigation alerts, and bring back the volume of the music nicely. Now, it chops off the music announce the navigation alert, then resume the music at full volume, fade into a lower volume and back up in full volume. I tried clearing the days for both music and navigation, disabling cm sound settings for sound focus, tried all the options in the stock music player settings regarding to sound focus. Can announce do a small test for me?
I'm using cm6 nightly 203, the latest car home from the market, the latest navigation from the market, and the stock music player from the nightly.

Similarly I have noticed that when listening to Pandora while using the navigation, the music will cut off for a navigation announcement but then the music will not resume. I have to physically press play to resume Pandora playback.
Very annoying
Yeah, that's always been the case with pandora. I believe it's more of pandora's bad implementation rather than android. Hopefully pandora will implement the resume on their next version.

Looking for a usable version of Digital Car. Here is a youtube video of it.

I've tried going to the google+ community and joining it to get the test version but it appears all versions have been removed from the Play Store.
Anybody have a copy?
Works fine for me when I follow the instructions. I'm installing it on my phone right now.
It's working on my end as well now. Odd....stupid internetz.

Tried quite a few of these apps for my dashboard tablet, and nothing beats proper setup with a regular launcher, xposed for optimizing UI and navigation with GravityBox and Gel Settings. As an example, added custom keys, so easily can change music track when outside player.
As music player i got fond of Poweramp for quite a few reasons, but mostly because of the swipe actions, so it's easy to change track without looking.
Tasker used to change some basic settings.
Dimblocker, to make sure screen doesn't dim while car is started.
Installed overlay, to put some floating widgets, as when i open Google maps for navigation, then i have poweramp widget floating top right.
Just listed some basic tweaks here, but point is that you can make a very nice setup without these in-car-apps.
Sadly Navbar xposed module isn't updated for Lillipop, which also added some nice features, but made workaround with GravityBox instead.
I'm not a huge Xposed user, but I do appreciate some of the tweaks available. I was looking for a thread talking about which modules work with our base 39A and the Xposed alpha and didn't find one, so I started a new thread. I figure this thread will be useless in a while after all the usual modules get updated, but until then maybe it will help someone out, or at least give us a place to talk about Xposed as it pertains to the VS980 + 39a base (outside of z3pp3lin's thread). For clarification, I'm currently using the Lollipop Extreme v1.1 rom (Base: VS980 Lollipop 39a, Kernel: 39a thanks to xdabebb).
Module: G3TweaksBox 1.4BETA3
Options I tried that worked:
Lockscreen -> enable rotation. Worked but I don't think I will use it.
Call -> Enable call recording. I tested this and it worked quite well.
Sound -> Disable Safety Headset volume. Worked when I tested it.
LG Launcher -> Custom grid size. This worked but I use Nova, so I don't really care. I set it to 6x5 and icon fonts were cut-off badly even with my nav bar being pretty small. It needs margin sizing like Nova has.
LG Launcher -> Enable LG launcher's hidden settings. This worked. I tried several settings and most of them seemed to work except I couldn't get it to rotate in landscape, nor could I reduce the margins or make the icons labels not cut-off @ 6x5 grid
Misc -> Enable all rotation angles. Works well. I was missing the 180° rotation a couple times lately.
Misc -> More items in Power Menu. This worked. I don't like how the torch works though because to turn the torch off you have to hold power again to get to the menu. I often use torch for just a couple seconds, looking around in the dark as to not wake my wife and stuff, so I want it to be quicker (see next bullet item).
Misc -> Volume Up and Down actions. These only work if the LG-default option for Shortcut Keys = on. However, the G3TB settings seem to over-ride the default option of vol-up = QuickMemo so that's good (I set it to "toggle torch" and it works well enough for me to disable the Xposed Torch module listed below). I tried setting vol-down to camera or xcam and they both result in freeze + reboot, then I realized just set it to "stock" and it will launch the camera, which it did successfully.
Options I tried that failed:
Misc -> Enable 4-way reboot menu. This didn't work for me. I don't ever use that power menu anyway - I use Widgetsoid with a reboot button that prompts when you touch it and works to get into recovery.
That's all I tested in G3TweaksBox. I'm sure other options work as well.
Module: Force Immersive Mode
Tested with NCAA March Madness Live (just a recent one that I know didn't go immersive when it really REALLY should) and it worked beautifully.
Module: Amplify
I've never actually used this before, but noticed it was updated for L so I gave it a shot. Looks like it works well and I might actually use it. The interface is nice. Gotta fight those wakelocks and stuff!
Module: BubbleUPnP
Holy crap this app is awesome. I've never used it before, though I have dabbled in Plex / UPnP streaming in my house since I have a networked AVR in my main theater / gaming room. I didn't think I would have a need for this app when I first read it, mainly because I don't have much media on my phone ever. It would be useful to access pics and videos on my phone over the network perhaps. But now I see how BubbleUPnP will stream from PC's and other devices on my network, Google Music (almost all of my music is uploaded here and I stream it when I get tired of SiriusXM + PandoraOne), DropBox, box, OneDrive, etc. And it has a plethora of options to control stuff, which I always desire. I haven't tested the limitations of the free version, but I might have to buy the pro version eventually. Initially, I just played some of the choir boy sounds to my Yamaha AVR, which showed up right away as a renderer. Then I was impressed with the Google Music integration. UPnP is cool stuff. I just fired up MediaMonkey on my PC and I see BubbleUPnP as an available renderer. I don't have a use for some of these things, but I love having and knowing about options.
Module: Fix Lollipop Memory Leak
Not sure if we need this or not, but I enabled it. How do I tell if it works or not?
Module: Xposed Torch
Works well but I disabled it because I can access torch with LCD off via G3TB module and I can toggle the torch while LCD=on via Widgetsoid.
Module: Lollipop Power Menu
Didn't work for me. I turned on a few of the options and rebooted, then realized G3TweaksBox is probably interfering so I disabled the additional power button items in G3TB and rebooted. Still didn't work. Maybe it would work with G3TB disabled completely but I wasn't willing to try.
That's all I've tested so far. I'm very happy with my G2 even though I am feeling the cons of using ART (slower app installs and boot-up time).
Snapprefs for Snapchat works for me.
Some GravityBox settings work too, like Allow all rotations.
I like using Greenify and YouTube adaway.
Hi all,
Recently bought a P9 and having an issue using music controls on the lockscreen. The only music app that seems to work with the EMUI lockscreen is the official Huawei Music Player. Every music players (including both streaming and local music players - I've tried almost every music app on the play store) lockscreen controls seem to be absent.
Can anyone help?

I use this for notifications, works at least with some players (Sony Xperia music is what I'm using)
Hello,
On my beloved Vivo X Fold2 I have an issue with the control center: it seems the music player area is intended to support the Vivo Music app only.
There is no other ways to control music from any other app (e.g. Apple Music) than going directly back into the app itself (the player does not even appear on the lockscreen or in the notifications).
Did I miss an option for that... or is there a workaround that does not require rooting?
Thank you very much in advance.
