Hi,
If anyone has this variant of the Note 5, could they please go into the dialer and enter *#2263# and in Band Selection you'll see WCDMA and LTE and post the bands here. The I variant supports a lot, namely:
WCDMA: 2100, 900, 850, 1900
LTE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 38, 39, 40, 41
already PMd you back, but so it helps others trying to decide...

I'm new here. Do you mind we move this to SMS or other IM?

The only bummer here is that LTE Band 20 is missing... the rest are all there.

i'm not sure, but would B26 work for you? it's 800 MHz which the N920i supports.

Bump. Anyone able to dial *#2263# on an SM-N900?

you probably remember me telling you it didn't work on my N5d. but I just tried it on my S6e dialer, and it doesn't go anywhere as well.
is this anything like you're looking for...

did you see the link is above picture?
Hum...none of the above shows me the frequencies (e.g. 850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz...etc) my phone is using...
yes you need to get sgs info.. (shortcut to dialer codes) goto
1. service menu
2. debug screen
3, basic information
it shows freqs. and updates in real time.. you can leave it on the screen
while driving around.
it will says wcdma 850 band 5 when 850 3g is working.
there is a list of all the Secret Codes on the Wiki to get into the service menu
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Samsung_Galaxy_S_Series
Sweet! Thanks guys!
there is a faster code
just punch in *#0011#
and you will see the band it is using
for example if you see:
WCDMA 850 band 5 (means you are on a 850 band class 5 speed/signal quality)
WCDMA 1900 band 2 (means you are on a 1900 band class 2 speed/signal quality)
So this is what my note 2 on tmo displays when putting in the code. Am I missing something or is there a way to figure out the frequency from any of that.

it says right there at the top "band4" which is AWS
Looking at leaving Verizon. Old threads have said the att/Cricket sim can be used in the Turbo with the realization of some missing lte bands. My questions are... are the missing bands used in rural areas (MN), should I sell the Turbo for a MAXX, or should I sell the Turbo and get something else? I realize the benefit of the MAXX is unlocked bootloader. I have to buy out my edge plan so I am spending money anyway, but the cost savings per month will make up for it in no time. I need it to function the best in rural. If I am missing optimum speed while in metro areas that is no big deal, don't spend a lot of time there anyways.
I live in a rural area in Maine, and I get LTE sometimes, but it's extremely spotty. I have Straight Talk, but with AT&T service. I miss LTE sometimes, but HSPA+ is plenty fast enough for the things I usually do on mobile web. It's all about personal preference. Yes the MAXX can be bootloader unlocked, and I believe it does support the bands that are disabled on the Turbo, so that may be the better route to take.

AT&T uses LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 17. Mostly 2, 4, 17 -- but 5 in a few markets.
Moto Maxx/Moto Turbo XT1225 has LTE bands 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 17.
Droid Turbo XT1254 does not have 5 or 17.
In Atlanta, AT&T uses mostly 2 & 17. In rural northwest Georgia, 4.
I'm in Boston this weekend. Here I'm connecting on 2 & 17.
With Droid Turbo, you would not get half of AT&T's LTE bands, especially 17 which is used in a lot of markets.
I'm using GoPhone, AT&T's upper tier prepaid brand (uncapped speeds).

I have the same issue. Have you found a solution?
Not a ROM limitation. Have a look what frequencies your mobile operator uses for LTE. The K3 note can only use these.
Networks:
2G: GSM 900/1800/1900MHz
3G: WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100MHz
4G: FDD-LTE 1800/2100/2600MHz

So if you're on o2 you're screwed?
Afraid so. I`m with giffgaff which runs on the O2 network but I don`t use 4g as it`s patchy at best where I am. It`s a great phone for the money.

Same problem giffgaff as well grr spouse you get what you pay for
I got my k3 note. I'm annoyed by the auto launch app after finished install from Google play.. any idea how to get rid of it?
The three devices designed by the Motorola using Qualcomm APQ8084 +MDM9625 platform seems shared some many design. In the /fsg partition quark share the same firmware of nexus 6,
so according to the partial RFNV already exist in XT1254,just get a filtered NV items patch to the Band 17,seems like Band 5 and WCDMA AWS either possible to do same job,but without the XT1225's calibrated QCN file,it's hard to do that.
Based on the success of using China Telecom Band 1 IMT-2100 FDD-LTE while the XT1254 just used the Nexus 6 XT1103's Band 1 RFNV patch made by Azlun,I think it's possible to using some bands that hardware DESIGNED but not CALIBRATED bands.

Using LTE Discovery to find the Band you are using
UPDATE:QCN add NV06828 LTE_BC_CONFIG
sorry to bring this up from the dead but can anyone confirm this works to pickup band 17 on att? im thinking of picking one up used and just want to confirm it does.
I can confirm, the patch is working. My phone was able to pick up AT&T band 17. I need to do more testing as band 17 signal is pretty low in my area. I can get nice band 2 signal here. See attachment.
What would be the benefit of applying this patch? Is there anything special about band 17?

For people who use AT&T and not Verizon. ATT's bands are 2, 4, 5, 17.
17 is used a lot on AT&T. If you can't pick up LTE band 17, you will drop to HSPA. While all the Quarks share LTE bands 2, 3, 4, 7, the Droid Turbo XT1254 does not have LTE band 17 which is important for AT&T.
That's why I own the Moto XT1225, which has ALL of AT&T's LTE bands.
On LTE Discovery, on my phone over the past two years:
Band 2: 186 instances
[*]Band 4: 25 instances
[*]Band 5: 14 instances
[*]Band 17: 187 instances
Even for people selling their Droid Turbo, it would make it more valuable. Even if it can't pick up LTE band 5 (which is not used that much), having LTE band 17 makes it worth more money to people who use AT&T.

The XT1225 and XT1254/XT1250 all share LTE bands 2, 3, 4, 7.
The XT1225 additionally has LTE band 5 and 17.

The XT1254/XT1250 instead has LTE band 13 (Verizon LTE band), plus CDMA bands. While it does have some HSPA bands, there's not as many as in the XT1225.

I might have an answer to this. I recently bought a TA-1005 SS HK 11A1NB21A05 variant. On the box label it lists these LTE Bands 1/2/3/4/5/8/12/13/17/20/28/38/40/41.
This is odd because for some reason Nokia Support when I last checked stated that there were no variants of the Nokia 8 Sirocco available that supported US LTE bands. On the box label it clearly shows otherwise. Other sites and LTE band checking sites are conflicting too.
Do you know if there is a way to check band locking or available bands from a diag menu? I know of the Info menu available from the dialer, but maybe there are other hidden menus to confirm this with.

To follow up on this I see wifi calling and VoLTE provisioning are good. I still don't know officially if band 12 exists but the phone works fine on T-mobile.
