Samsung Galaxy Note 5 N920I bands/bootloader - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a few questions regarding N920I version of the note 5.
1. Does it have an unlocked bootloader?
2. Has anyone found a way to open more bands? (I need the b20)
3. If it has an unlocked bootloader will it then be possible to flash modem to change the bands?
On beforehand thanks for all the replys

There are threads already for the Bands on the SM-N920I go check there.

Unlock/Root Samsung Note 3 (SM-N900A)

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I used to have AT&T as a carrier for the phone, now I do not have a carrier. I want to unlock my phone and preferably not pay for it I tried the method outlined at android and me and several other site, ( it involves using the number *#197328640#)
I was unable to use this method because I could not find a UMTS menu.
The only other way I found to unlock the phone was to root it. I wanted to use Odin and CF Auto Root to do but I could not find a version for my device, (Samsung-SM-N900A).
Do you guys have any suggestions for me?
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum.

Im in the same place need to Root At&t galaxy note 3 5.0 N900a where can I find the files
You can only network unlock the phone with a code.
As far as I know, all of the note series is carrier unlocked. if it's not, you have to call your respective carrier and ask them to unlock it. Rooting your phone is another story. I just got off live chat with Samsung and they can't remove the bootloader lock on my OC2 N900a. This will prevent me from buying any other samsung product in the future, not even considering the note 7 b.s.
The n900a is an at&t phone and pretty much every at&t phone is carrier and bootloader locked. Same goes for sprint and Verizon.
Didn't realize oc2 also had the n900a as I thought the U.K. And Europe had the n9005.
Most of the note phones sold by a carrier are network locked.

New to Samsung Note 9 Exynos

What I am asking is when I get the Phone what should I do first? Root first then setup for T-mobile then Custom Rom? I have rooted phones in the past all US variant phones. I tried searching but came up empty. Sorry if this has been asked before I'm just not finding it.
I have just ordered a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 SM-N960F/DS 128GB (FACTORY UNLOCKED) 6.4" 6GB Exynos 9810. My intentions are to Root and unlock bootloader. I'm on the T-mobile network. Any suggestions on what I should do first before i pop my Sim Card in.
Thanks in Advance

this will give you knox 0x1
install twrp via odin without reboot ticked, manually boot into twrp with the button combination.
flash alexndrs devbase to avoid rmm lock issues (his rom will also backup your efs, this is vital)

Samsung unlocked galaxy note thinks it's on sprint

Hey guys so I tried to root my Samsung unlocked galaxy note 8. And I messed up. So I found a "return to stock" thread but every rom I've downloaded that says it's the USA unlocked version. When I boot it up. It says its searching for a sprint signal. I don't know what to do. I thought I had it fixed. I got the notification to go away. But I just want it back to the way it was out the box. Any suggestions?

1) What carrier are you on?
2) What firmware did you use?
3) What is your N8 model? F? FD? U?
4) Taking the SIM out, power cycling and putting the SIM back in doesn't work?
You must provide better details of your actions if you want help.

It's the unlocked samsung galaxy note 8. Unlocked straight from the factory. I am on verizon. I used firmware N950U1UEU3CRC1_N950U1OYM3CRC1_XAA from one of the posts. I am unsure of what model it is. and yes I did do a power cycle. I'm just trying to get it back to the firmware it was on. It's the Factory unlocked variant USA.

Possible to change CSC to another region for unlockable bootloader on SM-N950U1?

I am wondering if it might be possible to change the CSC of an SM-N950U1 (possibly an SM-N950U) to the Hong Kong region. This might allow one to access OEM unlock in developer settings and enable an unlockable bootloader to install custom ROMs with.
If this were to be successful, would all of the LTE/CDMA/GSM bands that come with the phone's hardware still work?

1rst Nope! You will always have a LOCKED bootloader! No getting that unlocked!
2nd The OEM switch is ONLY for the Exynos models (SM-N950F/ N / F/DS models)!! (Now there was one in the combination firmware for SM-N950U/U1 BUT it doesn't do the same function as the one for the exynos models, so it won't do you any good!)
3rd the Hong Kong on SM-N9500 snapdragon you'll need a crom file to unlock I believe. And it's only for that model.
4th the firmware for SM-N9500 is NOT compatible with SM-N950U/U1/W. Samsung made enough changes to the firmware that it most likely brick your phone. (I think in the partitions of the phones that differ.)
5th search for the thread for "safestrap" it's in the note 8 rom section! It allows you to install root Samsung nougat rom (for now, pie might come later but who knows) on later bootloaders. Make sure you read and reread the first post and make sure you understand the information and instructions on how to do it. It isn't that easy as the OEM switch for exynos but it gives you rooted Samsung Nougat rom.
Also look in that thread if it is possible to switch csc to international CSC's.
