How hard is it to get back to stock? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

A friend of mine (who's a bit of an idiot when it comes to Android) has a Sprint HTC One (M7).
I don't know much about HTC's as I've never owned one so I really don't know how the bootloader and S-OFF and things like that work.
Anyhow, he wants to sell it, so I want to get it back to stock.
This is what the bootloader says:
*** TAMPERED ***
*** UNLOCKED ***
M7_WLS PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.57.0000
RADIO-1.01.20.0904_2
OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909
OS-5.05.651.2
eMMC-boot 2048MB
Don't know what any of that means.
All I want to know is how do I get back to stock properly?
I downloaded 2 Different RUU's (for Sprint)
One was an EXE file which opened up an InstallShield wizard, asked me to accept or reject the terms and agreement and then just closed and didn't do anything.
The other was a zip file, which is also useless.
It's the rom.zip, but when I try to extract it, it's corrupt.
If I try to flash it (using the fastboot oem rebootRUU command) it gives me an error about being too large or something.
Internet is slow here in Pakistan, how many RUU's could I possibly download (it takes forever).
How can I simply get back to the stock ROM for Sprint (either KK or Lollipop will do).
This is why I never buy HTC cause they're so damn confusing.
P.S: The phone has a custom recovery installed and is on CM12.1 right now.

[Q] HTC one ack to stock help

Hi all,
I have bought an unlocked HTC one (m7), it seems in good working order but when i tried to sell it on, they told me there is no recovery mode, and the it says RElocked.
So when i tried to go into recovery nothing works, I just get a red triangle inside a phone picture. noting works when i press power and Volume up either,
could someone please advise in child like details how i can get this phone back to normal so i can sell it please.
here are the phone details:
*** RELOCKED***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.56.000
RADIO-4A.25.3263.21
OpenDSP-V32.120.274.0909
OS-4.19.401.11
eMMC-boot 2048mb
THANKYOU
The recovery sounds fine, the only way to get it back to locked rather than relocked is to s-off (security off the phone) which might be doable via firewater http://firewater-soff.com/
You need to do some research on the hoops to go through to s-off/unlock/relock etc. plenty of threads about it. Not child like instructions but hopefully send you in the right direction.

[Q] Boot-looped my phone! Tried various things HELP!

Hello,
I seemed to have bricked/boot lopped my Sprint HTC One. I was trying to flash a zip to turn of system write protection, before i noticed it was an obsolete zip. Since then when trying to boot normally all I get is the white screen with the HTC logo. I can get into the bootloader and TWRP recovery, but my computer will not mount it as a mass storage device so i cant copy anything to it. I have tried adb sideload but adb doesnt ee my device. Fastboot seems to be the only thing half working. I have tried fastbooting a new stock boot image and a 1.29 RUU image and erasing, still no luck. I have tried locking it and doing all this and unlocked. I get further unlocked. I have scoured this forum and google for solutions but nothing has seemed to work. I dont know if its because of the recent update or not.
Here is what shows up on the bootloader screen:
*** TAMPERED ***
*** UNLOCKED ***

[Q] Converting to Stock from Carrier Version

I've got a HTC One from EE (UK), who are being retardedly slow in providing updates.
So I'd like to change to a stock HTC and still receive OTA updates. I'd prefer not to change to Google Play Edition if possible.
My bootloader currently says:
*** TAMPERED ***
*** LOCKED ***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-OFF RH
CID-HTC__001
HBOOT-1.55.0000
RADIO-4A.21.3263.04
OpenDSP-V32.120.274.0909
OS-
eMMC-boot 2048MB
I've got TWRP installed v2.7.1.1
I've also changed my CID to HTC__0001 and also the MID to PC0710000 using the MID Change tool.
Its currently running Android v4.3, HTC Sense 5.5 and Software 3.63.61.1.
What do I need to do next? I *think* I need to install a RUU? but not sure.

You are right, you now need to run the .401 ruu. Just to be sure, you said you have changed your CID to HTC__0001 ? Its HTC__001 (only 8 characters)
stay s-off and bootloader unlocked after the conversion.
your twrp recovery will be overwritten with the stock recovery included in the RUU.
I did exactly the same thing with my Vodafone branded one, best move I ever made, I got the update a month before Vodafone started sharing it.
Just make sure you backup your current Rom and take note or remember your original cid should the worst happen and you need to return it for any reason, copy the backup , once created, to your pc before running the ruu.
I'm on EE too and in the process of grabbing all the files needed for this. My fone is 100% stock so need to unlock, root and S-Off yet.
I grabbed the RUU from here. 1.5GB. HTC Europe

Thanks, all done now.
Sweet. All go ok? No problems?
Might get time to do mine later this week.

Bricked my device, any advice?

Last week, I tried to root my device. I flashed SuperSU V2.65 (which I thought would root my phone), only I ended up in a bootloop.
My friend suggested a factory reset, so I did that, and now I boot to a black screen, it doesn't even finish the boot animation.
I did some research online, and discovered that I could use an RUU to fix my phone only there were loads of them, and I'm not sure which to use.
When I boot to the bootloader, I see this:
*** TAMPERED ***
*** UNLOCKED ***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.61.0000
RADIO-4T.35.3218.16
OpenDSP-v35.120.274.0718
OS-7.19.401.2
eMMC-boot 2048MB
I live in England, and use a tesco mobile phone, which works on the O2 network. I have a few questions:
Is an RUU the best way to fix my phone?
I have a radio/baseband number (as shown in the image), is it important that this matches the RUU I am using, should I pick an RUU based on that?
If I use an RUU that is not my current version (I was using lollipop) can I reupgrade to lollipop?
Thank you for your help.

[Q] RUU Update fails, Need to update Hboot or get correct RUU

Hello, so recently erased my phone and planned on using the RUU file I had used in the past to start off fresh because my phone was running like a turtle. The only problem was that the RUU I had used in the past would not work anymore. It would start up and either stay at step 1/5 checking headers for like an hour or it would fail completely. I am completely confused and just want help finding the correct RUU that will get me back up and running. I've tried several different RUUs but none have worked.
I have a US T-Mobile htc one and I relocked the bootloader already.
this is what I see as of now:
*Tampered*
*Relocked*
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.61.000
Radio-4T.28.3218.04
OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909
OS-6.10.531.9 (7.18.531.2)
eMMC boot 2048MB
Feb 11 2015,18:39:53.0
at the bottom it also says Hboot version is older, update fail. I was thinking this might be the problem too but idk how to fix it. I have no desire to get S-off or anything extra right now, I just need the phone to work like normal for now. If someone could help i'd greatly appreciate it . Also i'm not an expert so please go easy with any intense technical steps. Thank you in advance.
