Hello, i got a big problem with my phone, 3 days ago i was outside and it started to rain so heavy and the phone got wet, by that time it was like in 3% charge, so i was expecting to die on me, it did, but since it got wet, i did not know if the phone was off because of the water, water damage and stuff, so i left it in rice for it to dry over the night and some days. Now some days had pass, i connect the phone to the wall charger and only the red led blinks, like each second, sometimes the screen shows the batery icon like when the phone goes out of charge, not showing increasing charge, just the battery icon. i dont know what to do, many told me the battery is unusable, other the usb conector needs to be replaced, at this i think might be true, since any usb charger will fit loose and disconnect easly. What do you think?
Found a video with my problem showing up

Does this mean my battery is dead? I pulled it out of my briefcase this morning, and it wouldn't turn on. I plugged it in to the wall and it powered up and sync'ed up (at least my data is backed-up), I left it plugged in so it could charge and when I came back to it, it was dead, just a red LED on the right side, and thats it. I've removed the battery and reinserted, which didn't do anything. Do I need a new battery?
Thanks for any info,
Brock
HELP TOO
I am getting a similar thing and I bought it used about two nights ago. Mine occasionally turns on, but 'bombs' out again if used too long
your pocket pc out of battery, charge it again till full......
I too have started having this problem since the weekend! My phone constantly shows the red light whenever on charge with cradle or direct from wall!!!!
Help please!
the red light used to show that the battery are low, you got message or got miss call.... try to check all that first or try to soft reset once....
Thats the problem though, the battery has run flat and whenever I put it onto the cradle to recharge the red light just comes on. If I put the battery directly into the cradle the red light comes on the front of the cradle. This is happening with both of batteries.
Last time the battery on my phone went flat enough for the red light to come on it took 48 hours constant charging before it started to work again...
Maybe your phone has a short in the charging circuit, the battery or the part of the PCB where the battery connections meet the main circuit?
I had this problem with mine.
i left the battery out for about 24hrs..
then put battery back in and left phone to charge for 24hrs..
it then turned on and has been fine since
this things happened when the backup battery is completly dead or dischargd i used to have this problem but i opened the xda2i and recharge the backup battery "ofcourse i took it out "and it has no problem since only that the battery metter is working weird so the problem is that ur backup battery is completly discharge
how to fix this easier just let the xda in the craddle 24 hours with the main battery on it should work unless is blocked the u need to take the + from the backup battery out and put it back on after a few mins and that's it u got ur xda2i working again!!
Hello folks, this is my verry verry first post so sorry if its not conform the rules
a few weeks ago my phone fell on the floor, and the battery acts weird.
It shuts off after i call 3 minutes claiming the battery to be epty, but when i remove the battery and put it back in again, it shows as full.
two days ago i messed up my phone and i thought well i flash it back
(note: i flashed my madonna before and it always went well)
But now, it flashes all the way to 80% or sometimes even 99% and then it shuts off, starting to blink the tricoloured bootscreen on and off.
when i put in the AC charger it stops blinking showing the tricolour screen steady.
ive been searching for ways to flash the phone from SD-Card so i can kepe the AC-Charger connected, but all i can find on the net is a way to backup the old rom to SD-Card and reflash it from that?
But.. i cant access the old rom anymore?
its from the wizard wiki page
I'm seriously thinking i have a rather expensive paper press, please tell me there's ways to fix it using SD-Card?
i cant order a new battery untill 3 weeks from now, which i really cant survive without my companion hehehe
just turn your phone on and flash it with rom again
The problem is your battery doesn't have enough charge and might be going bad. It will charge on the wall charger even though the tricolor screen is showing, but I believe it charges slowly. Try letting it charge overnight.
I had a similar problem and now my phone is fine.
You can order a new battery for under $10 from ebay.

same problem
I have the same problem. Loaded the battery for a whole night, but still it stops at 80% or so....
My battery had huge powerdrain, especcially using bluetooth, before flashing.
I orderded a new one, still waiting. I'll let know if it soves the problem.
If there are any onther experiences i'll be happy to read.
well, so far no luck.
sopme say, the printplate broke, (the greenish thingy with all the odd meganics on them?)
other say there's a transistor mallfunctioning, and some others even dare say its nokia's fault (dont ask me why!) for now, i simply believe im stuck with a rather expensive paperweight
even tho i tried charging it for 3 days nonstop, put the battery in the fridge, nothing worked, i guess ill mail T-Mobile seeing as how im due to prolong my contract, amybe they can do me a favor instead of making me wait a few more months
how to reecharge battery
1. get a hold of a USB cable for the computer(one that you dont usually use)
2. (not connected to the computer) you would need to cut off the end that plugs in you phone and then you will see 4 different wires. you will only be using the red and black wire so just strip those two.
3. take the battery off the phone, plug you phone to the wall charger w/out the battery, and connect the USB wire to you computer(make sure the red and black wires are not touching)
4. touch the red and black wires to the positive and negative end of the battery(the battery has labels of which one is the positive and negative part)
5. hold it there for 10 secs then quickly transfer the battery into the phone. after 3 secs of being in the phone, it should start right up.
this steps also depends on how long your battery has been dead. the maximum time you would do this is 3 times. after that and still not working, thats a confirmation of your battery being a done.
I made the mistake of forgetting to put my phone in my backpack while riding splash mountain at Disneyland. Needless to say, my phone got pretty damn wet! When I got the chance, I immediately removed the battery and let the phone dry for almost a week.
I was extremely worried when I plugged in the charger and got the red light o' death. After searching the forums I found that is was just a dead battery. So I quickly ordered a new one on ebay and I was back in business. Or at least I thought I was.
My phone seems to be fine, other than the fact that when it is plugged into a charge source, it does not charge the battery whatsoever. No matter what I use, (Car, AC , Computer) it states that is connected and charging for the status, orange light and everything, but the battery will continue to drain.
I know it is not a connection issue due to the fact that I can still synch it with my computer. For now, I have ordered 3 batteries and 2 external battery chargers for work and home. Does anyone have an idea on what part of my hardware is damaged so I can possibly get it replaced?

Ouch. If its what happened to me, its the USB port.......... part of the mainboard. Luckily mine was under warranty so I took it back to get another one. Mine didnt get wet though, but similar symptom. My usb port got blown by plugging in the wrong USB charger. I could sync, but not charge what so ever.
If its in warranty and your internal water markers arent red ( still white and dry ) Id try sending it back for a warranty exchange.
How spotless are the battery contacts - try some contact cleaner.

Have you checked that the option of not charging the battery while connected to the PC isn't ticked - if it's ticked, that'll explain why it's not charging when connected to the PC (although I don't know about the orange light). I did have a problem with my battery only charging for 1 min and then the orange light extinguished. It turned out it was due to a film of grease/dirt on either the battery contact prongs of the phone or the battery terminals themselves. If you have some contact cleaner and a cotton bud (folks in the US call them qtips), it'd be worth giving both of those a carefull clean. Note: don't be tempted to bend the prongs to touch the battery harder - they'll be fine as is as long as their surface is spotless.
Have you checked the water sensitive sticker under the battery to see if it's registered water in the phone - you may have been lucky and the water didn't get right into it. If there's no sign of that having indicated water ingress then if it still plays up after cleaning the terminals, you could try getting it repaired under warranty. The TyTN II charging system as a whole is a bit of a nightmare. As well as the problem I already mentioned, my HTC original charger only lasted 4 charges (a couple of weeks because I was mostly charging off the PC at the time) before going 'click' very loudly and going to the great charger graveyard. I bought a better repalcement for only £8.99 rather than getting another one the same under warranty which may only last another 4 charges.
The option of the battery not charging while connected to the machine isnt checked. I have a similar thing going on with the orange light. But it will happen at random times. (longer than a minute.) I will try cleaning my connectors to see if this helps. There was a little water under the battery when I removed it, and my sticker is pink.. So im thinking its showing signs of water damage. Another thing, my roomate has the same model, and when the battery is removed and a charger is plugged in, there is no light indication. But when I do the same thing I get the red light.
So friday I noticed that the time would lag. sometimes 20 minutes, sometimes 2 hours behind, a soft reset put it back in normal time. Weird. Today I went to grab it to go to work as it had been charging all night long with a steady green light. I open it up and there is a red icon for the battery...23%..... I hook it back up to the AC adapter and see what it does, it shows a plug to symbolize charging and I check it 30 minutes later, it has dropped to 20%. My bluetooth is off. I now have it hooked up to the AC adapter and removed the battery, i have the battery on a charging dock and the TyTn II has a faint red LED where the normal area for the charging LED is. I am gonna see whats happening in an hour with the battery...
Has this bricked?
Time lags and battery does load now. Its only been in use for 9 months, never been dropped.
Pete
I love how people never think the battery is going bad and always think it's the phone right off the bat.
Try another battery and see what happens. Hopefully you bought it new and still have the warranty on it.
Okaaaaaaaaaay....I do not lack in the technical department. The battery charges on the dock and I got it up to 100%. I loaded it back in the TyTn and let it sit for 3-4 hours and it dropped to 90%. I hooked up the AC Charger to it and I got the steady light up on top like it normally charged before all this. The battery continued to drain. I now have it powered completely off and using my old KRZR....(smartphone to cell phone....wonderful) I have a new battery on the way for a week now so it should arrive shortly.
Some wiring leading from the Mini-usb to the actual battery must be corroded or something. I cant explain it...I do live by the sea, and if the contacts are not gold plated in there...I can see some problems occurring. I doubt the warranty would still be intact as I have upgraded the ROM to Win 6.1

Thanks Garfield....I knew there had to be some sort of explanation....
I was washing my xperia z like always; but this time some ports weren't completely unreachable by water cause they weren't like the first days, anyway the water went in and i could see a little water under the phone screen, also all the water indicators became pink.while the phone was working for some minutes; and then after minutes xperia shut down. but I could still turn it on; and it shut down after seconds every time.i also couldn't charge the phone. or it will be charging weird!(like it instantly became full charge ...) . and also i did sth silly in this time, i changed the battery and replaced it with a new one(i still don't know why i decided to do this in this situation:/).after that i tried again and this time the phone doesn't boot anymore.after showing those purple waves it shuts down. it also doesn't kind of charge anymore. cause when i plug in, the red light appears , and it charges for one percent then stops...anyway i decided to stop trying.I opened the phone back again and then removed battery, opened all the ports and put it inside rice bag for about two days. now it is still the same story(shutting down after waves) ... what should i do?
well, in short word...you're late.
If that happened to me, I'll turn it off, open all ports, remove the battery and put the device inside a rice bag immediately. We don't know where the water go and what component will break.
If you have another good battery, try it.
If it still the same, then all you need is a new phone.
