Hi There,
I need some help, my situation is, I’ve bought a Z3 Compact 5803 with a bootloader that can’t be unlocked which has been upgraded to 5.1.1, 23.4.A.0.546, is it possible to root?
I tried all methods I have found, including downgrading to 4.4.4 – (D5803_23.0.1.A.5.77_Customized UK.ftf) using flashtool, and I’ve tried to root using Giefroot, both unsuccessfully.
There’s lots of advice regarding this matter and I’ve followed and tried every suggestion to find none of the methods work for me, am can it be done?
Thanks for any help

Are you sure you have tried every suggestion? Even point 2 of the rooting guide? (link)
- Downgrade fw to 23.0.A.2.93 (Device D5803) or anything prior to 23.0.1.A.5.77 (december fw)
You need to roll back to .93 before flashing the .77 firmware. Root doesn't work on .77, so first roll back to .93, use Giefroot, backup DRM, and then go to .77.
FW .77 (4.4.4) has no exploit therefore is unrootable if you have a locked bootloader, so downgrade first to Firmware .77 ( still 4.4.4) and you can root from there. After which you can install a custom recovery something like XZDR's Dual Recovery and flash a pre-rooted ROM which you can find in the Android Development section.
Thanks for the replies, I've tried to downgrade to D5803_23.0.A.2.93_Generic_GLOBAL_1286-9917.ftf using Flashtool and again it hasn't worked.
I get this -

I have Sony PC Companion open for drivers, any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
Hold that one, I tried again and it's flashing!
Will update later, thanks guys!
Thanks a lot guys, I just needed the .93 firmware, then a bootloop and about 6 unsuccessful tries later it flashed!! And now I'm rooted as well thanks to Giefroot!
Hopefully I'll be ok from here to get a custom rom etc as I've done twice as much research and downloading than I did in 4 years with my trustee I9100, although that's what makes it fun!
Thanks again!!
Al.
[Hi, I'm having exactly the same problem as you had.
I have Android 5.1.1 but need to downgrade, silly question but how do you get back to .93?

Hi,
I´m reading for hours some (why not say many) threads here in this forum regarding camera firmware update and camera that doesn´t work anymore after that. So, I have some questions:
- Is there a way to came back the camera to work?
- Why some users say 'go to dealer/carrier service team'? What this guys do that we cannot to do?
- Why the 'firmware update' button is available since it kills the camera??? It´s a guilty of Google/Android or Samsung?
- After read, I´m not sure but seems that this issue affect not only the 'Galaxy S GT-i9000' but other models also, is correct?
* I work with IT for 20 years and I like to have my systems updated with the last firmware/patches that in 99,9% of time fix some bug/issues - I never saw that kind of issue - only for cases where you run the firmware update file for a incorrect device/model. But what to say to a button that - supposedly - try to get your device model and then check for new firmware version????
Today my camera show the following info after press *#*#34971539#*#* and choose the first option "Phone/CAM FW Ver Check":

Basically, you have two types of cameras in SGS. Easy to recognise looking on the lens: green(worse) violet(better).
I have green one, I did exactly what you have done: I killed cam totally by firmware upgrade.
Yes, I found solution, here. But: it was related with hours of digging, flashing and manual files replace with ghost commander.
So: no, going to service is LAST option, but I do not remember now what I did... most likely: I found somewhere OLD firmware file, and I replaced it. If I remember good, I followed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263151 --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032437 and it was ended with success. BUT: you need root, file manager, busybox and... your cam firmware will be downgraded.
So, search xda SGS after camera firmware... or go to service.
Hi,
can someone tell me if I did something wrong? I already have root access and removed 4 files from /system/app as 'theosos' from that article (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263151) and expand the file 'camera.rar' for replacement >>>> no luck!
I used the 'Check Fus Downloader' from the that article (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032437) to download, decript and then send to my phone using ODIN >>>> no luck also!
* I also tried to run these .APK files but during install show an warning msg that it 'is not installed'.
** Can be it related with Android versions? Like I´m trying to copy camera.apk from 'froyo 2.3.4' to my system running '2.3.3'?
*** My camera is 'green' lens.

I have unlocked my phone bootloader & root access after that my phone is not recieving signals & saying " Please insert SIM card and Restart your phone". When I done this then again this message appears & still not recieving signals. Then Restored my phone's original software then also signals are not coming. Please help me with this
Had the same problem and just solved it :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47811393
If you are sure, you are not simlocked
Did you unlocked it again after SEUS update ?
There is a link in my thread showing another problem with msm7227
if it didn't help, this is what I did exactly after that :
- relocked the bootloader using s1tool
- made the SEUS update . (SEUS is Sony update service)
- rooted it with oldest Superoneclick that I used on my first root.
- updated flashtools to the latest version
- Put the phone in debug mode
- click BLU button => follow instructions
- Like I mentioned in my thread, if the unlocking process stops, and you are just seeing your battery charging => Start the phone manually and connect it again
With hope it will bring back signal to your phone...
Good luck
Thanx Buddy Just fixed that problem...

Hi guys,
Since yesterday I got a problem that soon after startup my phone freezes. When it freezes I have to hard reset the phone(power button+vulune up). Before that my phone was working fine. but I wanted to reset my phone to clear up some space. I did that by going into the TWRP recovery and wiped cache, data, dalvik, internal/external storage and system. Because I deleted the system partition TWRP said there was no OS installed. This was very stupid that I wiped the system partition. But I thought that I could just flash the stock firmware back in flashtool so i did that. But now my phone freezes very soon as it started up. so I cant even complete the setup of the phone.
There was one thing that stud out to me. That was an error that I got when flashing the firmwares. the error was: warn - unit 2212 not found in bundle. Maybe this means something. I googled it but couldn't find a solution to the error message.
The things I tried:
-Flashed the stock firmware(centrel europe 1, central europe 5, customized netherlands)
-Flashed the stock firmware + flashed 2 different(kernel 1 and 2) custom kernels(centrel europe 1, central europe 5, customized netherlands)
-Flashed this kernel and installed this rom
-Flashed the boot.img from the lastest CyanogenMod 12.1 build and installed that rom
I did all this and it was always the same problem. I don't know what to do anymore. I hope you guys can help me. If u need more info I will try to give that.
Ive spend my whole day searching for an solution for this problem. But still I havent found any solution.
additional info:

The firmwares were downloaded using Xperifirm in flashtool.
The firmwares were flashed with delete USERDATA and APPS_LOG checked(screenshot).

1st: Finally someone who does a proper report with all information needed, have a few thumbs :good::good::good:
2nd: Your English is fine
3rd: You should use the tool Emma. It's been free for a few years now. You can find it on the web, I remember having seen it on chip.de some time ago.
This tool is exactly what you need and has saved my phone's ass more than one time.
It basically un-does any software modification you've ever done and enables you to start from scratch!

Thanks you for your answer on my post!
Unfortunately Emma didn't solve my issue. I tried it several times with 3 different firmwares(those were the only available). I also relocked the bootloader and tried reparing the phone through Xperia Companion. But that gave the same result. I made a video were you ca see the problem. The link will be in the post 60 minutes after this post. I hope my problem will get solved!
Thanks for your time!
I think I found the problem!
So I think that the SD card is the problem. When I installed a firmware trough Emma I took my SD-card and Sim-card out and put them in my backup phone(so people could just call me etc.). And then suddenly the phone worked. I first put in my Sim-card in my phone so I could install whatsapp and have my contants loaded. Then I plugged my SD-card in and after 3-5 minutes the phone froze. So I think it's the SD-card. I am not sure yet but I am going to do some more tests with different SD-cards. I will let you know every update!
Dear Mods,
I am aware that I am posting in wrong section but I haven't got any help in the Q&A section since Aug-2016
****
Hi Experts,
I have searched the forum and after flashing for three sleepless nights, I am still struck with the unknown baseband issue.
The details are:
C6903
BL Unlocked & now its locked using Flashtool (DRM or TA backup is unavailable )
Currently the phone is struck in boot loop in .534
Used Flashtool ver. 0.9.22.3 & 0.9.18.6
Latest EMMA & Xperia Companion
My phone hanged when listening to the music and when I force restarted the unknown baseband showed up. While flashing I got the baseband back after flashing .518 however it hanged again after two days and I lost the BB
Now I am struck in boot loops on .534 and .518 both. I can boot into .290 successfully. Can someone please guide me to the correct method of restoring my IMEI permanently.
P.S. As per my short experience with C6903, I believe something stops the boot of .534 and .518 after first boot. Means I was not able to boot into .534 but accidentally when I flashed .518, my phone booted successfully. However now I am unable to boot into .518. May be I am missing the piece of puzzle that an expert can provide.
I would really appreciate if someone can help. Thanks in advance~

Anyone...
1st you shouldn't write it here. Mods will remove it and it's more worthless work for them.
2nd have you considered that your phone might have some hw issue? You're talking about some old sw versions, so just flash .236 via emma and if you still have the issue, I would consider the device defective. And then it's better to buy a newer phone, z1 is now pretty old (considering that it's a flagship of 2013)
