ok guys
silly man...I wanted to try android 6....did any backup...nothing...
I follow the instructions to installa adroid 6 and before the first reboot I "format" from recovery everything.....
I losto all datas in SD integrated...
I avoided to reboot the phone to complete the OS installation hoping to let me some 1 possibilities to recover something.
I can see the phone on my PC through recovery but the card is not seen exactly like a usb driver so I tried to use a software like "Recuva" but it's not able to see the phone card...
hope to have explained...any idea to help me?
Thanks
Ciao

Gone not even the word. It more than gone. It hangin with Hillary's emails.
You can't use recuva because the phone does not have USB mass storage mode.. You can try disk digger from play store. Otherwise it would be quite technical to try and get data back.. The technical option is you dd the data partition over adb to an .img which you then mount as a raw image in Linux and scan with recovery software. If you're a noob, that would be a lot of effort so I'd say the data isn't worth it.

This from a real noob, but I thought I would solict some additional input if there is some trick I have missed on my problem.
Since installing CM 10 on my Vivid, everything has worked well except the fact my internal SD has gone away. Based on stuff I have read here I have tried the following:
1. Factory Reset - no help
2. Mount drive using installed recovery, CWM - No Help
3. Install TWRP recover and try that, no help
4, Try various apps from Play Store, No Help
At this point it seems best to me to return the phone to factory state and see if the internal card is there, if it is, unlock the boat loader, install TWRP recover, then flash the rom, then boot imate (s on) and hope it works.
Any app that requires root and access to all the drives errors out.
A large group thanks to all of you who post so much info on the phone, and how to do things.
I assume you've tried mounting Internal SD in the Settings/Storage menu?

Internal Mounting
Thanks for reminding me about this, but yes, I have tried it numerous times but it doesn't work. A bit frustrating since it keeps me from storing certain stuff or using some rooted apps. Unless I find some other way, I will give the restore option a try in a few days when I get home.
Appreciate the reply.

My guess... Is you did a reset from fastboot...
If that is the case... I recommend getting twrp... Installing that... Mounting both storages in recovery... Then hook to your windows PC... And let windows format your internal SD...
After a reboot... Your phone will either mount your internal... Or offer to format it again... At which point it will work...
Unless we are talking about apps2sd in CM11...

As far as I know I did not reset from fastboot, but I have been in that mode a good number of times, so it is very possible.
I replaced CWM recover with TWRP and it would not allow me to mount the internal card, but the phone booted up OK, just no internal card. So I tried another factory reset and while in TWRP I noticed I was also getting a "can't mount /emmc/" message. Phone still boots up ok and works except for apps requiring access to the internal card.
I ran across some reference to a recovery called aroma something that is supposed to help with this problem, but am not sure it will work with my phone, still researching that.
So maybe this is pretty good evidence I did screw up and reset from fastboot?
I figure I am going to have to restore the phone to factory status, and start over, but I will wait to see if there any other suggestions.
Thanks again for the feedback.

Ok...
You were close...
Don't mount internal for twrp...
Mount as USB mass storage in the same menu...
Then connect to windows...

It Works!
Thanks againk, that solution did the trick.
Hello, need some help here!
I unlocked the bootloader without backing up any of my files... I know I'm stupid... I was too carried away by the 4.4.2 improvements to think properly...
I tried this recovery method from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994705&nocache=1
and another similar one
But in both cases I am stucked at the first step: adb saying device is offline in cygwin.
Adb in the android sdk works fine. I'm on 4.4.2 ota from stock 4.2.2 (rogers), managed to flash twrp and got root.
I've tried revoking usb authorization but no go.
Is there any mighty guru who can help me out? Is there some way of mounting the internal storage in windows so that i can image the whole internal storage?
Any help greatly appreciate! Don't want to lose precious photos of my family...

i have no idea what you are trying to do or what you have done.
so far this is what i have understood
you have unlocked your bootloader and install TWRP and SuperSU
so you have root access
now you are wanting to back you device up.
if this is what you are trying to do then just boot to TWRP and click on backup and make a nandroid back and move on.
with a nandroid back up if you ever install anything that stops your device from booting or cause FC all you do is boot back into TWRP and click restore and click on your nandroid back up and it will restore your phone just like it was when you created the backup.
Sorry for bad focus in writing, it was 5am+ and I was very desperate...
I had unlocked the bootloader without first doing a backup, thus the unlocking process wiped my data.
I had it unlocked so that I could flash twrp and root, which I then succeeded in doing so.
Now, I hope to recover the wiped data. As Moto X only has internal storage, I can't mount it as a drive in windows and do recovery that way.
The thread I found had a particular method of imaging the whole internal storage so that recovery could be done by loading the image in windows.
But by using that method, I can't get adb (of cygwin) to connect to my phone properly. It lists the phone but says device is offline.
Does anyone know how I can get adb (cygwin) to connect to my phone properly?
Or is there another method of recovering wiped data in internal storage?
Thanks for any help!

ok i understand what you are trying to do but your not understanding how the moto x storage system works
there is 2 storage locations on are phone. Internal and emulated external(virtual SD card)
so when you do a factory reset or go into TWRP and click Wipe it wipes the internal storage only leaving the SD card files there
but the virtual sd card only contains your Pics/Downloads/and Some App Data but it dose not have your actual phone data like installed apps and setting so forth. so when you wipe your data there is no way to recovery your system you have to start over. the only thing left is going to be downloads some app data pics and other things you moved to your phone via your PC.
What i would do is rebuild your phone the way you want it and then do a nandroid backup via TWRP and then you wont have to deal with this issue again i normally make a new nandroid backup every week and delete the old one and then i make another backup via Titanium Backup.
Thanks dray_jr, for your detailed explanation.
I just found out the adb version in cygwin is outdated. I'll try to update it and see if it could work.
I don't want to give up hope yet
Hello.
I have a problem with the tab..
was running CM 10.1.2 (4.2.2) for a while now and was working just fine.
a few days ago it got stucked...
to be exact - i was playing music with jungo, opend the notification drawer to enable the BT and it got stucked (the music still kept playing though)
a reseted it (with the power botton) and it got into a bootloop.
i tried reinstalling the rom and the kernel - not helping.
now, i think there is a problem with the DATA partiotion... everythnig i do in recovery that touches this partiotion causes the device to reboot (into the bootloop)
Wipe dalvik cache, Fix permissions. Format Data, Factory reset - All of these causes a reboot.
also creating a NAND backup, while reaching the DATA backup causes a reebot.
that is why i cant reinstall the tab - no way to format the DATA partiotion...
the thing is - i dont mid trying repartition with ODIN - but first i have some information i really need to backup first.
in recovery i see the SDCARD, can access all the files - but can't mount it to the computer in RECOVERY mode to access the files, or to copy any other installations in there...
i would really really apreciate the help - mostly to be able to access the data on the card
Thanks in advance
Ofri
Can't you flash a stock firmware through odin??
then you should be able to access your sdcard and backup your files, and then you can flash whatever you want.

but the information is lost..
im trying to run a restore software on it
i have one i use for memory cards - but is there a way i can mount the tab to the PC as a regular flash memory? because in any other way for now my backup software doesnt recognize it...

Well your sdcard shouldn't be formatted, you should be able to see your files inside "/sdcard/0" folder.

if your tab is getting recognized on your PC as a camera, then all you need to do is checking the "Media device (MTP)" option in:
"Settings>Storage>{press three dots in the top right corner}>USB computer connection>Media device (MTP)"
then disconnect your tab and reconnect it, and everything should work fine.

Oh I get it now, hmmm if that is the case, I don't think I have any info that could help you with that.
I currently have no rom installed due to me wiping the cache and data. I'm trying to put the cyanogenmod 11 zip on the sd card by mounting usb storage, however it doesn't allow to copy it over to the sd and just says "discovering items". Upon mounting the usb storage it recommends me to fix the device as there are some problems with files, I tried the scan and fix options but it did not help.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

On some kernels you can use connection to PC when you are in recovery, on some not. I do not know on what kernel and recovery you are now. But it seems it is not working. So solution is to do nandroid restore if you made a nandroid backup in recovery. I suppose you did not, so now your option is to flash stock JB from Download Mode with Odin, and copy ROM while you are in system. Or use some other phone and put SD card in it and copy like that.

Some of it has, some do not. I am not sure what version has it and what do not. I remember some version, maybe CoCore opens internal and external storage on PC automatically. But I can't remember was it CoCore or some else.

Actually it's something interesting, a senior. Like when Windows95 new entry in our country. At that time the system "DOS For Windows" is still very familiar in computer lessons in our education. (Developing Countries). So we can still do "Copy" and "Paste" via diskette in the system "DOS". I think CWM is almost similar to the DOS system. I mean, CWM will be very useful if a time on the android main system can not be done. Of course may be done through CWM. cmiiw.
First of all, sorry for the bit of a text wall below, but if you could bare with me, I really need help and would greatly appreciate any comments that could be of help. Thank you.
So I was looking at a thread on how to do something so I changed two lines on build.prop. I made a back up of the original build.prop file. So my phone was able to start up but everything was invisible and couldn't do anything other than use my notification shade and respond to messages. I ended up turning on emergency mode then I turned it off right after and that fixed it. I guess I messed up when I copy and pasted the original build.prop and replaced it with the one that made my phone mess up in the first place. This messed it up my phone even more and now it's in a bootloop. I can only go into ODIN download mode and recovery. I tried clearing system cache but that didn't help at all. The first time my phone messed up it showed up as a drive on a few different computers that I used, but once the bootloop started it won't be recognized as a drive on any of the three computers I tried. It shows up as "Gadget Serial" when in download mode and when it's powered off it shows as SAMSUNG_Android. I have installed the Samsung phone drivers on two of the computers but that didn't help either.
When it shows up as SAMSUNG_Android it shows that MTP USB Device didn't install properly. I was thinking maybe that's what is causing the problem? I am using the original usb cable that came with the phone. Odin recognizes it so I could always restore it with a ROM, but I need to backup my photos (to my fault, I haven't done a backup in awhile) before I restore it to a fresh ROM. No android file explorers show it either, or a root explorer like Droid Explorer. I've also tried to connect it to a mac (third computer) but that doesn't show up either.
Some person suggested to me to restore with a ROM that saves data, but to no avail, I couldn't find one (anybody know of any?)
I was also reading about using the wipe data/factory reset, but I couldn't get a straight answer if it deletes or keeps the data in the SD Card section on the internal storage (does anybody know?)
So I feel like I might be screwed and may lose my photos and other data. If I could connect my phone to my computer properly, I might be able to edit build.prop again to fix the problem. If I can't connect it to my computer ever, is there any other way I could back up my photos or other data? I have a OTG cable if that helps at all.
Some additional info: I'm on a stock ROM, stock kernal, and rooted. And yes I had R/W on when editing build.prop.
So any ideas guys, I really need to get my phone up and running again.
Thanks in advanced.
Just reflash the stock ROM through ODIN.

i dont have an answer to that question, but whats more important - fixing ur phone or keeping ur now-unaccessable-anyway files?
i THINK replacing a rom does not delete ur data, but i highly recommend waiting for someone else to chime in as I am completely unsure and just going off what i think i've read before.
take this as a lesson, any time you are going to play with system files (be it in a phone or computer), backup anything you care about, and be prepared to lose what you dont.
Flashing rom doest wipe the data in the external sd card but it do wipe the internal storage i recommend flashing a rom after taking out your sd card
