Is this the Italian branded "Three" ROM?
I am currently upgrading to think after flashing the relevant BOC3 ROM.

What region is this?

For the knox counter is ok? Don't change anything?

Has anyone successfully flashed this gdrive firmware?
I tried it twice on my BTU 910F, and twice it failed near the end.
Any remedy?

Yes I've flashed it fine. You will more than likely need to flash a pit file to repartition your phone in line with the content/partition sizes of this particular firmware. It isn't really uncommon.
I've noticed the forum is swamped with similar posts of similar problems so have a search. I read this morning that someone had posted a tutorial on how to get around this.

How frustrating, I have a working link but can't paste it as I haven't reached 10 posts.
I'll say that I went to stackoverflow and searched for "google drive limit number of download", which has a solution to re-present the original firmware download url in a way that can be downloaded
Sorry I can't just paste the links, but I understand why
Steve

How to solve the problem rooting not possible?

not working anymore, try mega links

Download Link
Updated link on first post, sorry...

Works perfectly. I had to retar the archive as explained in other threads by removing hidden.img and cache.img, since I had the infamous "too big" error message. After few hours of trials, everything seems fine and indeed the UX is significantly smoother. I have a 910F model.

In English then.... How can I download it?
There's no working link to it, anywhere I can find!?

awesome - so just a standard odin flash yeah? I've only ever had the problem of the "not enough space" message when I tried going backwards to a uk EE version of 5.01. This is a standard unlocked version? There's people talking about it being 3 software?

Yes it has 3 boot animation and software, but you can uninstall 3 software.

Hi everyone,
This ROM is great. every things are working well.
But I don't know how to change the "Right hard key's function. I don't want it show the "recent apps" when we press.
It should be a menu key when we using App.
Please support!
Thanks,

no root after flashign WizCyan
After flashing WizCyan 4 with update 1 I don't have root access. I've tried reinstalling several times and I've also tried to install superSU on it's own using CWM, both the latest version and older versions, with no success. I've also tried to install just v4 but the problem persists. Does anybody have any clue on what could be wrong? I've had root on the phone using other ROMs. I use the latest CWM.
And yes, I chose no when promted to fix superuser in CWM. Although I have also tried to pres yes during one installation.
What version of cwm are you having? Also when you click on the supersu app what message do you get?
I used version 6.0.3.5. Today I installed 6.0.5 and redid the flashing of the update and also of superSU 2.16 by it self from CWM. No difference
When i press the superSU app I dont get any message really. Looking at the log it's as if though the app denies all apps access without asking. I tried changing the settings in superSU to allow all requests and then the phone passed the check with root checker and root apps also seem to work. No app is added to the SuperSu applist.

I would suggest that you do a clean install of the ROM, now that your recovery has been updated
Excessive consumption of battery
Sorry, but this was translated by google.
I found a big problem in version 4 and is the battery, prior to this version, the battery works well, the battery lasted the whole day, but now the battery hopefully enduring three hours.
Please, give solution to this problem or any suggestions, as I really like this ROM and do not want to change the other.
Thanks in advance.

Ok, did some testing and found that some of the init.d scripts were eating battery therefore have posted an update in the OP removing these and battery consumption should be better after flashing this update.

Sure, you can install on any firmware, but if you have wifi issues then you may need to flash modem or some other workaround. Just wipe data/factory reset and install version 04 followed by update 02. I am not sure on what you mean by memory but presume that you are referring to internal sd card. This will depend on what apps/features you install from the addon package and playstore. The ROM will not affect your internal sdcard space as it will be installed on the reserved system space.

In case you want to use screen mirroring then you would need to install allshare from the addon package
I've been tinkering with trying to get WizCyan totally working on my device for a couple of days, but I can't for the life of me get Wifi working (at first it was root access, but that was fixed by upgrading CWM). Here is the exact process I've followed:
Updated CWM to 6.0.5 (PhilZ's version)
Did a factory reset from recovery (I didn't use the "Clean to install new ROM" function)
Installed WizCyan version 4, followed by update 2
Rebooted, attempted to configure WiFi -- failed.
Flashed the NE5 modem package from the links in the dev thread, using Odin 3.07 -- twice each, as instructed
Still can't get my Wifi to enable. The flash was successful, as I can see the correct baseband on the "about" screen, but it refuses to enable. I'm in Australia, but I believe this phone came from UAE -- would that make a difference to the way the modem interacts with the Wifi hardware? I pulled this info from logcat:
Code:
I/WifiManager( 1084): setWifiEnabled : true
I/WifiService( 882): setWifiEnabled: true pid=1084, uid=10008
E/WifiHW ( 882): ##################### set firmware type 0 #####################
E/WifiHW ( 882): Cannot open "/data/.cid.info": No such file or directory
E/WifiHW ( 882): ==========[WIFI] Station firmware load ===========
E/WifiHW ( 882): return of insmod : ret = -1, Exec format error
E/WifiStateMachine( 882): Failed to load driver
E/WifiStateMachine( 882): sendErrorBroadcast code:10
E/WifiController( 882): Wi-Fi driver is unstable. Received CMD_STATEMACHINE_RESET
In the mean time, I'm going to try to source either a local radio, or one from the original region, to see if that helps.

Can't get anything much from the logcat, it refers to a file that gets created on 1st boot you can try doing a factory reset from settings--> backup & restore--> factory data reset. Only backup your internal sd card before doing this as it will wipe your entire phone including internal sdcard and then reflash the modem.

Well if I'm going to go that far, I may as well do it properly and completely restore the phone to stock and start again. When I bought it, the first thing I did was root, flash CWM and a CM based ROM -- it's probably worth starting fresh anyway, I'm only going to be using it for a couple more weeks until it's replacement arrives.
I'm currently downloading the latest firmware for my region (XSA), a 4.2.2 based MK3 build from the end of last year -- do you think I'd have better chances if I restored to a 4.4.2 build (like NE5), or should it not matter if I completely reset the phone to factory settings/software?

Generally doing a factory reset from the phone resets the entire firmware and is helpfull to resolve such issues. if you want to install the entire firmware, I would recommend flashing the 4.4.2 PHN firmware you can get the download link in post# 13. But then there were wifi issues after flashing the PHN firmware for which a factory reset from the phone happened to be the solution.

Thanks for that mention of the firmware, I had the radio from that link but forgot you'd also linked the full package. Google Drive is much faster than the websites I'd been trying to get files from, it took 15 hours to download the XSA firmware I was originally going to use.
You were totally correct, resetting the phone was the solution. I got the PHN firmware, flashed it via ODIN only to find it still hadn't fixed the WiFi problem -- even after a factory reset -- however the process of flash/reset/re-flash fixed it for me -- it seems unnecessary to me, but I guess times have changed since I last tinkered with unlocked devices. I'm happy to say that I now have WiFi working under WizCyan now, just wanted to check back in just in case anybody else was facing similar issues. As painful as it is to have to back up and totally restore, sometimes starting completely fresh is the best solution.
Now I'm off to rebuild my SD Card, lol.

Glad to know that you managed to get the wifi working.
Personally, I did not face the wifi issue after flashing PHN firmware, but know that quite a few have faced this issue as reported in this thread
Normally my understanding and experience is that when you flash different modems / firmware some corruption occurs and factory reset from within the phone resets the partition & firmware. 1st time I experienced this was when I was using a MTK 6575 based device and had amended the EBR, MBR and scatter files to modify the partition sizes, even though these were flashed through mobiuncle tools (similar to odin), the revised partitions did not get changed until I did a factory reset from within the phone. I know that this is irrelevant here but thought that I would share this.

Gear VR - Network Error

I've searched all over, and can't find a solution to my problem.
Finally received my Gear VR, plugged in my phone, need to take it out to install VR apps, network error.
Some background:
- I'm from South Africa, mobile operator Vodacom. Vodacom has bloat, which sucks, so I install the UK BTU rom from sammobile.
- After I received the error, I reinstalled the Vodacom version from sammobile, no luck.
- Factory reset, no luck.
- No apps of any kind (facebook or otherwise) are disabled on the phone.
Any other suggestions?

i have the same problem. when i've got my s7 edge from H3G italy. my gear vr used to work, however, i have flashed the lated firmware from france and when i tried to attach my gear vr ang tried to install the required program, i got network error. i tried using wifi only, mobile data only and both wifi and mobile data toggling the download booster but to no avail.
I have the exact same problem. Any fix?
Solved my problem. I checked my phone info using app in the playstore and found out i have no csc, modem and other info except the baseband. So i decided to look for a complete firmware and reflashed on my phone complete with boot loader, csc, modem and base firmware. Now gear vr has been installed.
read below how to do this without re-flashing
thanks @ayongkot - missing CSC version was also problem in my phone
If you have certain custom FW, or you don't flash CSC partition to avoid crapware,
you might come up with network error
this file is used to show the CSC version:
/system/csc/sales_code.dat
If you are missing it, that's the cause of this mystique "network error"
- If you have root
create the file ( or use one from attachment. Unzip it first. )
the content of the file is
Code:
DDE
ending with a UNIX-style NewLine (the file is 4 bytes long)
DDE was in my phone. It's for German T-mobile. But I don't think it would matter what country and OP you'll use.
Just for reference, though this file contains DDE, the FW I flashed is showing CSC version: DDX.
If you don't have root
, still no need to reflash the whole FW
unpack only CSC (it's in cache partition) from the FW. use tar with ustar to pack it to tar and flash to phone.
be sure to backup your data before, changing CSC might trigger re-format.
Hello
Same problem in Brazil.
I could not find "/system/csc/sales_code.dat" in my phone.
Please could you teach me how I can find out this way?
Thanks.
JM
@JM Machado @burnoutsyndrome
If you can't find the file, than it's the same problem as described here.
Follow the instructions and you should be OK.
I re-wrote my original message, Msg #7, two posts up from here, to make it more understandable. I Also added an attachment.
It's working now! I created a backup and flashed the CSC part of a german T-Mobile firmware. It erased all my content, but after copying my backup to my S7 Edge, everything was fine, and the download of the Gear VR is working now! Now I have DDE as CSC code. Thanks to papo for his support!

[q] *how to update rooted note 5 from mm to nougat?*

Peace All...
I am currently on Minotauras ROM (MM) and would like to update my Note 5 920G to the latest Nougat firmware---so I can download a Nougat custom ROM (i know one is not dependent on the other, but I was always taught that if the base changes, its best to update the firmware to avoid any potential problems). However, I'm unclear as to what steps should be taken to update the firmware--I'm relatively new to SamSung devices. I know Odin is the update utility, but unclear whether I should first flash a "stock" Marshmallow Recovery and stock ROM--then take OTA...or can I just flash the Nougat firmware and then flash TWRP? What happens to my data & apps? Will all settings be erased?
Please advise.....

1)You are on stock Marshmallow 6.0.1 right as i guess so? Then you have MM bootloader(But if you are on 5.0.1 lollipop bootloader then you need atleast upgrade you bootloader to 6.0.1, you can find MM bootloaders at Samsung galaxy note 5 android development thread anywhere mostly at Dr.ketan Rom N8 S8+ port/You can also find Nougat bootloaders there only)
2)Don't worry then if you want to upgrade to any custom nougat rom then you can simply download prefer one and install through TWRP as you installed Minotorus Rom(Assuming You are on Marshmallow Bootloader and Oem unlocking/Usb debugging options are enabled from Developers option)
3)Or if you want to update your stock firmware to official Nougat for updated model and bootloader after that want to try Custom nougat rom, then you can download official Stock 7.0 firmware for your device N920G and specific country if available from websites like sammobile.com or samsungupdates.com etc (I am unknown about your country afaik samsung released 7.0 for N920G for some specific countries atm, like for asian countries not for latin american countries)
4)Further Odin flashing guides you can find also here within forum only, if you have any query related to odin flashing you can ask me i will provide you Odin flashing guide also(Kindly don't forget to enable Oem unlocking and Usb debugging option from developers option before flashing anything using Odin or you may brick your device)
5)You can also flash official stock 6.0.1 and update through OTA to 7.0 but above mentioned method is easy to directly update to nougat(Only if official Stock 7.0 nougat firmware available for your device model no and country)
6)While updating to stock firmware using odin, all your user data stored on internal storage will be lost(If you directly flash custom nougat rom on minotorus rom then user data stored on internal storage will be there) so i will suggest you take backup of your current data
Peace!!
First off--THANK YOU DroidHackeR for your response. I was out of town so I coulnt respond sooner. But Yes...I'm on MM 6.01 and I would prefer to upgrade to the offical 7.0 firmware. My model number is 920G, which I think is an International model.I am in the Unite States and using Tmobile's bands. I looked on sammobile and saw that they did have the official firmware (but for Bangladesh, India--I didnt see anything that said International...and thats where I kinda got stuck, cause I dont know if that firmware would be compatible). With that being said--I guess my best option would be to flash an official stock 6.01 firmware and then take the update? I have OEM unlocking and USB debugging enabled.
Could you please walk me through flashing via Odin? Like where would I find the stock 6.01 firmware? Sammobile as well? I know I will loose my data..I've backed up most of my files.
Thank you again for help!

Could you please walk me through flashing via Odin? Like where would I find the stock 6.01 firmware? Sammobile as well? I know I will loose my data..I've backed up most of my files.
Thank you again for help!

Well you can always flash the MM firmware in odin then take the OTA but ive always just flashed the new firmware via odin just because it easy.
And flashing firmware via odin will not wipe your device unless you change your CSC.ive used odin literally 100s of time across numerous devices over the years and it never has wiped my device...common misconception for some reason.
But of course first you need to find the correct firmware for your device on sammobile.
Then once downloaded un zip it and load the tar in the AP slot in odin.
Occasionally a factory reset is needed for the device to boot and that will wipe your storage.
There are tons of tutorials on how to use odin...hit that search button, use Google or even hit you tube for videos (which are useful if your a total n00b since you can see how it runs so no surprises).
If you do it once after that it will seem so easy.

Hi,
Thanks for your inputs. I tried same steps for my N9208 dual SIM with stock 6.0.1 firmware from sammobile.
After Odin flash, boots to stock recovery and throws dm-verify check failed error.
Please share your suggestions.

I would suggest that next time you use the search function to try and help your self first as learning is key here.
That said i did a quick search for you which led to many results but this is an excellent read.

Peace...
Well.. I searched YouTube video tutorials, GooGle searched and went to SamFirmware and downloaded a 6.01 stock firmware. However, the file I downloaded was for Bangladesh (I have a 920G model) and it failed when trying to flash it via Odin. So I downloaded another 6.01 firmware--this time for Brazil (as all tutorials have stated that as long as the model number is the same its ok to flash). At first the green loading bar was working and it got all the way through to radio image and then it failed---but now my system has been wiped and now my phone is bricked. Do you or any other member know of a 920G 6.01 firmware that is compatible for the USA? It appears the radios are not compatible causing it to FAIL in flashing it in Odin.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

1)Did you try to put 4files firmware that comes with BL,AP,Modem,CL separately?
2)As You can get into download mode successfully kindly install samsung smartswitch on your phone>connect your device to pc while in download mode>open smartswitch>select emergency software recovery so that it will recognise your device as well as actual latest firmware for your device to be installed
3)If smartswitch doesn't help anymore, try with full firmware(4 files firmwate of any of Latin American countries as you stated for USA, may be the country's that lies near to you by region) but this time you need to uninstall smartswitch or Samsung kies in case installed as it could possibly mess up with Odin flashing

Peace AssassinsCreed...
Thank you for ur response. This is my first SamSung phone---I came from HTC and was familiar with their process of rooting and updating (which was a pain)--but I'm totally unfamiliar with Odin.
When you say put the files in separately---i'm not sure what you mean, cause when I extract the Update zip, I only get a a tar file---should I unzip in a folder?
Thanks again!!!

G900AUCS4DQD1 ** FULL ODIN UPDATE ** v6.0.1

Hello everyone, here is the latest G900AUCS4DQD1 full Odin update. With this, you may update from ANY version you currently have such as 4.4.4, 5.0, 5.1.1, or 6.0.1. Simply flash all 4 files after you extract using Odin and you will be on the latest and newest update. This WILL wipe your phone so make sure you backup your phone.
G900AUCS4DQD1 (6.0.1) - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862725335
If for any reason you wish to downgrade, you can safely flash any of the following full Odin firmware's without any issue. Phone will hang after flashing on startup at AT&T logo. Simply boot into recovery and perform factory wipe/reset and it will boot up fine after that. After wiping data/resetting phone, it will look like it got stuck again on AT&T logo but give it a few minutes and it will eventually pass this time.

G900AUCU4BOF3 (5.0) - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862696776
Thank you again for the files, appreciated!
So, what am I doing incorrectly?
Used S5 900A on OI5
Downloaded the full Odin QC1 file.
flashed with Odin 3.11
No error messages, flashed all 4 files.
Got immediately dumped to recovery after an error screen saying the phone couldn't access knox.
Reboot, and the phone shows stuck on 5.1.1, with a baseband of QC1. It appears to be still the 5.1.1 software/ui.
tried a factory reset from recovery, no joy.
Currently downloading QD1 Odin file, I will report back.
edit: after a second full flash of all 4 files, it worked. wierd. Now running QC1. will updated to QD1 via odin shortly.
disregard this post in it's entirety. :silly:
and the QD1 Odin package flashed perfectly first time!
awesome work. thanks.
I just downloaded the 2.1Gb QD1 file, and the CRC check on the AP tar file says failed. Should I go ahead and flash my phone, is there any risk?
Downloaded the QD1 update without problems...now I wonder, how necessary is it ? since the phone is working fine.

That's funny, I've been thinking the same thing. I will admit battery life is really good as well, but I'm thinking the new battery and the factory data reset played a role as well. Haha...

Installed flawlessly, I guess it's all about security that can't be seen nor noticed.
Many thanks to sharing.
Worked great! Dug the old s5 out of the bin, put this on, worked like a charm, thanks!
Trying to download but getting "failed network error" for every mirror link.
Edit: Nevermind. Found the thread that allowed me to root it from OF3 which I didn't know was possible. Went that route instead.
Can I use this file and method to update from my Galaxy S5 G900A running 4.4.2? My device in not rooted and the bootloader is locked. It is in it's original factory state.
No more update?
QE1 ?
It seems that Samsung will not be providing any further updates, so my question is, will AT&T release Noughat for Samsung Galaxy 5 G900A or is that pipe dream at this point? I didn't want to create a new thread for just this question.
Does this Update maintain root?
Thank you very much for this. After trying to root my device and failing, I couldn't get it back to normal. Hours of trying later and nothing worked, not even custom ROMs. I gave up and decided to go nuclear but still couldn't get it to work. Finally I found this, and it worked. Saved my bacon.
Guys,
I was on Android 4.4.2 which was the way the phone came. I jumped from 4.4.2 straight to this update, and installed it via Odin. No issues with the update, everything works fine.
However, There is a lot of free space on the ROM "missing", and I don't know where it is and how I can release it.
The phone is a 16gB model. What is available is 11.4 gB (the remaining probably being the firmware and OS), but of that 11.4gB, I only have about 7.5 gB to use. What gives? Is it because Odin made some kind of backup on the ROM itself? I really really would appreciate some information on this.
Thanks,
Mir
Oldies Gratitude...
Hi, I just thought you might like to know that thanks to your post and clear instructions (i.e. not assuming the reader has an encyclopedic knowledge of the S5...) I have been able to update my AT&T S5, here in the UK from Android 5 to marshmallow with everything going very smoothly. The reason I thought to write this little note is because I was born in 1947, which makes me 70 years old, and when I was growing up, the idea of a mobile phone was science fiction, so if I can do it...!
So Thank you again for sharing your expertise....
Plz upload new link with mediafire or any other, this link giving error and give message error binary md5...
waiting....
Regard
Ashiq Noor.
Dear File is corrupt when extract through winrar or 7zip give error The file is corrupt. plz provide another link.

Huawei P9 - Android 6 to 7 Firmware

Hi all,
Ive been a fair while out of flashing ROMs since Note 4 Edge / HTC M7 and have today unlocked bootloader and rooted my P9.
It is currently Australian Vodafone release EVA-L09CC346B160 (Android 6) but I want Nougat.
There is no local carrier updates available but I understand that there is Android 7 available in Australia on 'international' branded handsets.
How can I identify what this firmware is for international Nougat? Can some one assist me. Or can someone advise what would be a suitable equivalent firmware that I can use in place of.
I am unsure how this device goes in flashing ROMs of higher or lower android versions on the current firmware and dont really want to brick it.
Thanks for any tips / suggestions
Umm, just found a thread mentioning L09C636B361 - will check this out, but is there any more recent? And still how does fl;ashing other premade ROMs on 7 go on top of the current Android 6 firmware go?.. Ta

using this guide you can update to the latest nougat release
Thank yuo Xtcislove
I have completed the steps suggested and now have Nougat. Though it is a newer version being .383 which was updated via OTA to .378 and then zip to .383.
Thank you for the help
I'm trying to flash firmware on my P9, now I have EVA-L09C40B181, but it stuck on 5% and HiSuite shows Recovery failed! I tried custom firmware, same problem. What can I do ?
Dfani511 - just follow the instructions in the thread provided by Xtcislove, it works but took me a long time.
I found the steps concerning the update to be added in dload was a little not clear, in the update zip that's downloaded, you need to open it until you get the dload folder, extract that and copy to the SD card.
Throughout my updating, o never ended up on the firmware you have
This N seems to be working fine, nicer looking.
I do have 1 issue, no matter what I do I can not get root to work. I'm on .383, can this one be rooted or not currently? If it can, how do I root .383? I have TWRP 3.1.0.3 as current recovery..
Or, is that ok to flash on my current P9 L09C432B383 ? from this thread - https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/root-pre-rooted-boot-img-p9-nougat-b378-t3574548
The stock and pre-rooted boot.img states its form .378 but would it be ok on .383?
I dont know how to get root on it currently...

This is what I did to root my Huawei P9 on Nougat L09C432B383:
Use the SuperSU-v.27.9-201612051815EMUI5.0.zip file flash via custom recovery and it should root your device no problem.

Hey xtcislove - is there a preferred version? 1, 2 or 3 do you recommend? Thanks mate

EDIT - Nevermind, Xtcislove, your the best man, appreciate your help with your guides etc. I went with option 1 and the handset is now rooted on Nougat. Thanks so much

3 is the version i preffer, you cant freeze apps with v1 but most things should work fine.
btw you can flash v3 over v1.
Ive flashed v3 over 1 and all appears good, root working fine. Thanks again.
Though I have noticed on both v1 and v3 that SuperSU binary needs to be updated, ob both v1 and v3. The phone fails to update both, states unsuccessful and to reboot, which also does not update the binary.
Only other thing I have done is to get BusyBox.
What can be done about the failing binary update? Will it be fine to leave as is, just getting rid of the prompt when it appears, or does it really need to have the update done sometime?
