Hello. I have a Huawei W1 running 8.1 GDR1 and yesterday, it just started rebooting endlessly every 5 minutes, and it always took the date back to 8:08 AM 8/27. I tried to hard reset on the about section but it just restarted normally without wiping anything. Tried to do the - and + volume buttons combination but the screen with the exclamation mark disappears as soon as I press the first button. There's no way to hard reset this phone and I don't have any other idea to fix it. What can I do?
How to Factory Reset:
Go to Start > Application list > Settings.
Then scroll to the bottom and choose About.
Tap on Reset your phone.
To confirm the reset tap Yes.
It will take a few minutes to restore the default settings, then your phone will restart.
--- Hard Reset ---
Option 1:
Press and hold the Camera + Volume Down + Power buttons at the same time.
Then release the Power button when the phone vibrates.
After that, release the Camera button and Volume Down when you are prompted on the Format screen option.
Then press Windows button twice to confirm.
Option 2:
Turn your phone off.
Then press and hold the power key and release it when it vibrates.
Press and hold the Volume Down button until the exclamation mark is displayed.
Then input the follow sequence of keys: Volume Up > Volume Down > Power > Volume Down.

I tried all of that, to no avail. In the about section, the phone just reboots and doesn't wipe anything, and the other methods just don't work.

Hello, I've a very strange issue, but it seems that my reset button (that one pressed with stylus) does not work and because of that I cannot enter bootloader.
In the past I've flashed my ROM many times, so for sure It worked for me before.
Any ideas?
Turn the phone off, hold down the VOLUME DOWN BUTTON, press the POWER BUTTON.
what about hard reset
Ok, it helps and bootloader loads. What about hard reset?
Last time I did it like that:
"1. press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and
ENTER buttons, then press the RESET button with the stylus tip.
2. Release the RESET button, but continue pressing the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons until you see this message on the screen...."
but now I does not work, probably because of the reset button
Try using the same method, turn off the phone hold down the required buttons and press the power button.
Can't clear storage. The button is "greyed out." Any suggestions ??
Sorry .. Found an answer to my question .. It worked. This is what I did.
Hard resetting the Nexus One with the Hard button factory data reset. (volume down and power button) The device must be powered OFF to perform this reset. If the device is on, turn it off. (If the device is not responsive and does not turn off, remove the battery and re-insert it.)
While holding down the volume button on the side of the N1, press the power button briefly while maintaining the volume button pressed in for around 5-10 seconds.
You should be presented with a menu that allows for: Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock. You can release the volume button at this time.
Select Clear storage with the volume button up and down, then press and release the power button to make the selection. It will ask you to confirm this decision. Press the yes button using the volume up.
I have read that a hard reset is activated by:
1. Turn off the device if it is turned on
2. (Plug the device into the computer USB Port) Press and hold the Volume Up, Volume Down, and the Power Button at the same time for about three to four seconds to turn the device on, if done correctly you’ll see an Android lying on its back
3. Use the volume buttons to navigate to the Recovery Mode option, and press the Power Button to confirm your choice
4.The device will restart, and after a few minutes the device should boot to a screen showing an Android with a red triangle, press and hold (release buttons after 5 seconds) the Power Button and Volume Up on this screen
5. Use the volume buttons to navigate to Wipe Data / Factory Reset and press the Power Button to confirm our choice
6. Use the volume buttons to navigate to Yes and press the Power Button to confirm your choice
All goes well till after #2 after i plug in the device to computer via usb port it the tablet freezes and i can not navigate to recovery mode or anything.
Have I missed a step or is something wrong? If onboard recovery process is broke is there a way to fix it?
Why you make a duplicate thread?
OP did you forget your thread already located here?

Just got my new N6, was setting it up, got the system update to 5.1 which I downloaded. Until here, everything seemed fine, however, after installing, I got an error message and since then, all it's doing is "Android is starting..."
Where did I go wrong? Called Moto CS which was a joke! I'll call Expansys from where I got the phone. But there has to be an easier solution.
Anyone? Thanks in advance.
If its the first boot after updating, it might take some time. Else try to factory reset from the recovery.
Turn OFF Nexus > Press and hold Vol Up button + Power button. Use Vol Down button to select Recovery and Power button to choose it. When the Android with Red triangle appears, press and hold Power button and tap on Vol Up. Now choose Factory reset option.
Thank you, but could not turn it off. Trying to power + vol up didn't do anything, however, power + vol down gave the fastboot mode from where I chose recovery, but it said no command was found
I think that means you have no custom recovery. Taken from another site:
"Press and hold the Power key and the Volume up key for around three seconds and then let go of the Volume up key, but keep pressing Power.
You should see the Android system recovery options pop up at the top of the screen. Use the Volume keys to highlight the options and the Power key to select the one you want."
Try this from the recovery screen. I think there is a power off option or maybe a factory reset option.
I'll give it a try and post am update, thank you.
Yeah simply pressing and holding power down then Pressing volume up once while holding power will give you the option to factory data reset. During startup it'll take some time for the first boot, some report 10 mins, be patient.

Holding power and vol up doesn't do anything for me! Why is it doing that?!
It's power and vol down. it boots you into the bootloader and there you can choose functions with vol up and down, and select it with power.
I did the factory reset, but it's still stuck in that same cycle. Called Motorola who advised to ask the merchant for a replacement. I called Expansys (from where I bought it), and was informed that I have to send it in first, then they will determine what the fault is and then I'll get the replacement, seriously?!
I called my AMEX and asked them to handle it.
Hello everyone.
Last night I took to the journey of replacing my screen on my moto x. After carefully piecing all of the parts back together, something weird happened.
The phone seemed to start up normally, with the traditional M logo, and then goes into the boot animation. It'll sit there booting for a good minute, and then will make a small buzz, the boot animation will freeze in the middle of a frame, and then it'll shut off and redo the same process.
I was wondering if anyone has had this issue, and has found a fix yet. Thank you in advance
Did you try to make a hard reset at your phone? Make a hard reset and see if the issue remains.
To do this,
With the phone powered off, press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button at the same time for about 3 seconds.
From the Boot Mode Selection Menu screen, use the Volume Down button to scroll to Recovery, and press Volume Up to select.
When the screen with the Android logo appears, press and hold the Power button, then press and release Volume Up to display the menu options.
Use the volume keys to scroll to "wipe data/factory reset" and press the Power key to select it.
Scroll down to "Yes - erase all user data" and press the Power key to select it.
