ODIN TARS [OF1]-[OK7] / G925v - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

It is most important to note these tars are NOT ROOTABLE currently,
and will LOCK your bootloader from Downgrading!
For those of us who no longer need root, or want to run a new odin tar to prepare our devices for replacement/sale/transfer/etc, or just want a clean install of our current ROM.
TARS in 2nd Post
I had a bit of trouble tracking these down but have put them on androidfilehost for all to make use of.
Use tools/necessities from elliwigy's post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6-edge/general/g925v-t3104183
---Borrowed from elliwigy---
Tools/Necessities:
1) Samsung Smart Switch (replaces KIES, use this to backup+restore data etc.)
2) Samsung Mobile Drivers
3) ODIN
ODIN Flashing Instructions:
1) Ensure drivers are installed and ODIN is installed
2) Download the .tar files you wish to use to the PC (If they are in .zip format, just unzip them to get to the .tar or .tar.md5 file/s inside.)
3) Backup all data using the PC if you need to (if flashing a full ODIN tar, it typically wipes the entire system on the device. If just flashing firmware only it typically does not wipe system but a backup is always recommended.)
4) From powered off device, hold the Home + Volume Down + Power button until the "Download Mode" screen appears
5) Once the screen is on, press Volume Up to enter Download Mode
6) Open ODIN on the PC and Press the AP slot and navigate to and select the .tar file you are going to be flashing
7) Connect the device after ODIN checks the .tar file and once the device is recognized press Start in ODIN. (DO NOT UNPLUG DEVICE DURING THE ODIN FLASH.)

Have you tried to boot into recovery and do a factory reset and clearing cache?
If all else fails, install Samsung Smart Switch on your PC and use it's recovery tools.
This file worked fine for my device, not sure why you're having troubles.

Actually, I did have this issue, but it was because I had Trailblazer101's OF1 ROM Installed First.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...lblazer101-lightlycleaned-rooted-rom-t3157394
Did you have that?
If memory serves me well, I got around it by doing ODIN to OE2, rooted it, running the FLASH_ME From Trailblazer.
I then loaded up SuperSU app and did an uninstall for permanent unroot.
I was then able to ODIN OF1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6-edge/general/g925v-t3104183
I took OTA update to OG5, then did a clean ODIN of OG5.

No, I didn't.
What should I do now?

stuck in the same boat unlimited boot-loop after odining 5.1.1 it flashes successful. wiping data/cache doesn't resolve the issue. smartwatch says unsupported device . OF1 fails with odin since OG5 is installed. does anyone have a working version of twrp for 5.1.1? I fear it's the only way to remedy the boot-loops by installing another rom.

it should work. My oc3 and oe2 tars have been up for a long time now and ppl still have similar issues but it does work eventually and others it works right away.
Not sure why this happens but your only option is odin tar or replacement device. Keep trying and try dif. odin versions.

Smart switch did not and will not work for this case. Keeps saying device not supported. Anyways, i FINALLY FOUND the tar file for 920v http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/54733/G920VVRU3BOG5_G920VVZW3BOG5_VZW/ <-----here. Took 2 hrs to DL but just for anyone who wants it. Just want to share my story. So i phone is on 5.1.1 and had an update. I clicked to DL it, it was a vzw 30mb update, fine, fine, update failed, boot loop. Tried to wipe/data reset, clear cache, multiple times and still boot loop. It just really inconvenienced me today b/c i had a lot going on and expected a lot of people calling me to say the least. Anyways, the odin worked with the tar og5 i found.

yup.. thats exactly what im saying lol. im not trying to be rude but i have an odin tar thread and i pulled the tars i uploaded via smart switch and the only reason i started it was specfically because i was not able to boot my device and it was faster than dling from sammobile..
then again some devices are stubborn and if some have tried everything ppl suggested correctly then im sure its very possible..
theres so many factors such as a persons knowledge/skill, the source file, the download source, the pc used, device specific, cables used etc.
so im not saying your issue isnt an issue just saying in my experience it usually works or there is a way to make it work.

I think i got stuck somewhere where it said put in my model and S/N and every time i typed my S/N in it said incorrect. Another time it said time in some code, some reboot code forget the name. Did you register and make a back up in smart switch or something? When you got your phone to connect, where were you? In DL mode, boot looping, recovery? I tried them all and with 2 known cables that function properly.

Can someone please upload the Verizon upgrade Assistant from their S6 Edge. I may be able to fix this soft brick with it since it won't connect to SmartSwitch at all. Tried different cables, and different PCs with different OS's it always says Unsupported Device no matter the combo!

VZW Upgrade Assist didn't work for me, but Here you go: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347824906
I just re-flashed the OG5 and it worked great for me... Perhaps running a factory reset directly before the odin?

One thing I'm curious about, for those having issues: Did you flash from ODIN using a USB 2.0 port or a USB 3.0 port?
I ask because, in the past, I've had several firmware-related issues trying to flash using usb 3 ports that were alleviated when switching to a usb2 port.

[Solution] HC 3.1 OTA Difficulties 13% + Stock ODIN

Here's a solution that worked for me
Flash the below with ODIN (thanks to bonzai3558), extract the .md5 file from the zip, and in odin choose PDA and point to that file, keep everything else blank/default. Connect Tab with USB (after it is in download mode by power on +Volume down then volume up, so it shows the yellow android with shovel) then hit Start.
this ODIN version: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DDN6BYB2
and this pda md5: http://www.mediafire.com/?gcenefqc3khcc0c
Now when you check for OTA once your back up, itll work fine and get past 13% and go all the way (it is normal for it to stay a long time on 76%)
Best of all tablet is ROOTED
so this odin file is surely stock (and plays nice with the OTA update)
-PS: This odin file also will save your device if it is bricked or frozen (boot into download mode) power button + volume down button, then press volume up to select
*thanks pershoot for help as well
Work in the v model ?
Thanks
this version of odin isn't seeing my tab. I have the samsung drivers installed. :/ But it still says unknown device when I go into fastboot mode and odin doesn't see it
edit: not sure what it is, my gigabyte mother board seems to hate samsung android devices. Worked like a champ with my wife's laptop. Thanks!

SS2006, you are awesome! Thanks for posting this. I flashed recovery.img, flashed boot.img, and restored all the original apps from the system dump, but I was still stuck at 13%.
Was totally WTF...?
Then saw this thread. FLashed the zip file, and BOOM. Software update success!

doesn't work on retail with that ver. of odin (and trying to flash in a tar'fyed cwm).
either it too is locked, or there is another means of interacting with it.
ill kep my eyes peeled for retail.
So I did this to a retail locked 16gb. I get force close messages like crazy now. Any idea on how to get back to stock?
I tried this after an adb reboot,,, sent me into a boot loop and it did not clear it up so i did it the old fashoin way, hopefully can get it to work later would def help!

This saved my LE I/O SGT! Was stuck in boot loop; couldn't connect with adb or fastboot, but could get into ODIN download mode. After flashing a couple other versions that either didn't work or had other issues (no USB, accelerometer, etc), I finally found this thread. Flashed this PDA and now I'm back up and running!
However, I had already messed up my bootloader. I flashed it with this version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1083517 which is from the 10.1v retail edition. Now when I try to do the 3.1 OTA update, it won't boot into update mode. It fails and says to try doing the update with Kies. Do you have a bootloader that I can flash with ODIN for this same PDA version?
It did same for me, when i tried to do OTA update, it says failed to update and try to update with kies. I ended up factory resetting the device. Its still rooted and now I am trying to update again. Hopefully it works this time. For some reasons I can't launch any apps. They are all crashing. Any ideas what might be wrong?

Any luck? I haven't had the app crashing problem, but it seems pretty common from reading around the forums.
I was able to install Kies and get it to recognize my tab (had to disable USB debugging first), however, it gives me the following message: "This version of the device cannot be updated." So, it seems I am still unable to get the HC 3.1 update... Anyone have a solution? I still think the original ODIN flashable bootloader from the same PDA as the OP might do the trick for OTA updates... Just not sure where to find it.
FWIW: Kies reports my current firmware version as: PDA:KE3 / CSC:KE3 (XAR)
It doesn't work for me either. I get the same error and when I tried to do OTA update, it reboots after the download saying it couldn't be updated. I think we need PDA with 3.1.
I haven't been able to use anything on my tablet. every app running in the background crashes and theres. I did system reset and factory reset but no luck.
Any help would be really appreciated.

SS2006, you are a god send! I was in a boot-loop somehow on my Android 3.1 10.1v after trying out the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130574 thread..
Flashed with this ODIN package (that is Android 3.01) and did the successful upgrade back to 3.1! Sweet!
So does anyone have more details on these ODIN packages and how they are setup?
odin is crashing es soon as i open it, anybody having the same problem?
update: nevermind, im using odin 1.82 and now im rooting my tab.
hey i got a stupid question:
i got tab 10.1 P7500 already on 3.1 HC
can i just flash the root exploit? using stock recovery?
just wanna make sure before i did something stupidly irreversible.
EDIT:
for those of you on locked 3.1 P7500 (indonesian edition) you can just skip the Odin flashing and directly place the root exploit to your root sd and then apply the update (just tried it and it works) i have root now.. moving on to CWM

[ROM][ODIN]SPH-L720 MF9 (MF9 Modem/Kernel/Bootloader/ROM - No Data Wipe - Rooted)

First, a HUGE thanks goes @garwynn for being my partner through all of this and then to @sfhub for teaching me how to create Odin One-Click.exe files and creating the original thread I'm using as a template for this one, @agat63 for helping me get the hang of what sfhub started teaching me, @MoHoGalore for helping test and put together so many of these one-clicks, @crawrj for providing the TAR I used to compile the one-click, and to everyone else in our community who makes this possible!
This Odin One-Click.exe contains a Rooted Stock MF9 ROM, Bootloader, Kernel and Modem for the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 (SPH-L720).
The only changes to the ROM from the initial build released by Samsung are that root access has been added along with SuperSU and BusyBox.
This will NOT trigger the Yellow Triangle NOR will it increment the Odin flash count.
This one-click resets your whole phone to a rooted stock MF9 experience and it does not wipe user data.
Instructions:
1: Backup anything important and Disable any PINs.
During this process your phone's software will be returned to the Stock setup. All system data will be lost. To be safe, it is best to archive your backup off your phone, ie on your PC or Dropbox.
2: Install Samsung USB/Android drivers (if necessary).
Samsung Drivers Download Link
3: Download the MF9 Stock ROM One-Click.
SPH-L720_MF9_Rooted_NoData_Restore(compressed archive).exe
4: Unzip One-Click ROM using 7zip (this package is a self-extracting exe you should just be able to double-click on it after download and it will do the rest).
5: Start the Odin One-Click.
Navigate to the location where the SPH-L720_MF9_Rooted_NoData_Restore.exe was saved upon extract from the 7Zip archive.
Double-click on SPH-L720_MF9_Rooted_NoData_Restore.exe. *On Vista or newer, you may need to right-click on the file and Run as Administrator.
6: Place phone in Download Mode.
- Power phone completely off.
- Press and hold Volume Down, Home and Power buttons, all at the same time.
- Release the buttons only when the ‘Warning!!’ message appears.
- Press [Volume Up] to enter Download mode.
7: Connect USB cable to PC and phone.
Odin should show a yellow COM port in the second column. If you do not see a yellow COM port, you may need to run the Odin One-Click as Administrator and/or unplug/plugin the USB cable after starting Odin One-Click.
8: Start Odin flash process.
Press [Start].
9: Complete - PASS!
Status should change to green PASS! At this point your phone should automatically reboot.
Android Instructions:
Download and install ZArchiver on your phone. Use it to unpack the Odin One-Click 7zip self-extracting exe file (long press on the 7zip exe. Select "Open As Archive". Select the One-Click.exe and then select Extract). Use Mobile Odin to Open File the SPH-L720_MF9_Rooted_NoData_Restore.exe. FYI - Modem will not flash with Mobile Odin.
The boot process will take slightly longer than usual during which time you'll see the Sprint 4G logo screen.
Congratulations! You've flashed the Rooted No Data Factory Restore MF9 build!

I should be able to work something out.
Gotta find the time to do it though. This one was easy as Crawrj did the work of building the TAR already. I'll have to either build the TAR or find one that has the data wipe written in.

No rush! Having a data wipe rooted option makes it easy to do some "spring cleaning" and start fresh if a flashed ROM gives me trouble. Thanks again for both files! I'm a new owner of a GS4, and I'm learning all over again. Had a GS3 for a year and found that to be extremely easy to root/restore and flash. I hope the GS4 is the same!

Odin flash passes, and phone reboots, but never makes it past the solid yellow Sprint screen with the LED pulsing slowly in blue (waited 10min).
unplugged from pc, powered off and rebooted, still hangs
pulled battery, and rebooted, still hangs
powered off, switched to download mode, and re flashed with Odin, same deal...

unplugged from pc, powered off and rebooted, still hangs
pulled battery, and rebooted, still hangs
powered off, switched to download mode, and re flashed with Odin, same deal...

Try flashing the full restore from the link below and then retry flashing the rooted no data restore. Could be some incompatible data in your previous build.

tried booting to recovery, wiped data, then rebooted phone (without re-flashing from Odin again)
this time it did boot, and I am now waiting for all of the Spring bloatware to finish loading...
looks good so far

Sorry I didn't get to this. Things came up over past week. Thanks rwilco12, I'll help get a rooted together if not done this weekend.

Thanks so much for this guys. I've been busy the last few weeks and didn't see this posted. I've really missed the one-clicks from the S2 days and I'm glad you could come up with these. I'm stuck in a hotel in NOLA with crappy internet and I'm trying to download both the unrooted restore file to wipe my phone, and then I'll run this on top of it.
For anyone who hasn't used these one-clicks before, I highly recommend them. So easy, especially if you want to totally wipe the phone and start from scratch like I do periodically.
Thanks again!
Do you plan to update this with the new 4.3 Sprint ROM releasing today?

I don't have an S4 myself so I have no way to grab the TAR files I need to make it happen. If someone happens to grab the TAR let me know and I'll see what I can do to make it happen.

I can test injecting root into system.img or getting via dump, but no promises that it will flash. N3 didn't work, it's why there's no one click yey.

bricked....

Hi so I was trying to use CF to root my phone and ended up screwing it somehow and bricked. I thought I'd followed the instructions well enough but I obviously did something wrong. Now my phone is stuck saying it needs to recover with Kies. This is my first Samsung phone but I'm not new to Android.
I tried installing the stock firmware through ODIN but everytime I flash it gets to installing the system ext4 and fails. I also wasn't able to recover using Kies(not even sure how you use it tbh).
If anyone could help me it would be mucho appreciated. I'm pretty pissed at myself right now.

Your phone is NOT bricked. If it was the screen would not even go on.
Have you tried going into recovery mode (VolumeUP/VolDown/PowerButton)
and once in Recovery Mode do a factory reset or Data Reset forgot what the
exact wording is in the stock recovery.
If you flashed twrp recovery it's ok too, just select "factory reset".
After doing that the phone should no longer display anything about Kies.
If you get to the twrp recovery screen you should be able to flash a stock
rooted rom without any issues.
If all you get is the stock recovery screen then you should be able to odin
flash the official Samsung Note 4 kitkat 4.4.4 NJ7 firmware which you may
need to download the firmware from http://SamMobile.com if you don't
already have it. (be sure you have the correct firmware for the Note 4 N910T).
Be 100% sure that the phone is FULLY POWERED DOWN before going
into Download Mode to avoid odin errors and issues.
Good luck!
Thanks man. I had tried Odin at my office and nothing doing.
Got home took my time and was real calm about things and voila. May have been an md5 issue with the firmware file. Just relieved I didn't have to RMA it.

Can you check for the file with md5 before you flash from your phone? I forgot where to dig for this info.
All I I have done before is on my cook rom file, I just open it with WinRAR and test for error. If no error, then its good.
On my Home PC I have a program that will put a check mark next to a file if it matches the md5. I also have Winrar at home.
I was just using the default Windows zip program and I have had problems with that and installers/roms in the past.
The only other things I did different were I removed the SD card and installed the drivers before plugging my phone in instead of letting Windows download them automatically.
I also removed the battery after I left work so it was out of the phone for a couple of hours.
The final thing I did was calm down lol after the initial shock of seeing a softbricked screen on my brand new phone.
I'm all rooted now with TWRP and running Hyperdrive so it's all smooth sailing from this point forward.
You should check md5 on phone once you done transferred to phone from PC

Need help urgently

My wife was gonna install the latest update (Lollipop) today and her phone was encrypted and so she decrypted it to prepare it for installation. At 85% the phone said that it failed and that she had to do a factory reset and so she did but now it seems the bootloader or something messed up. I've tried flashing it with Odin and with the PIT file but with no success. I could really use some help here buddies...
I attached some pictures of what I see when I try to flash it in Odin and what it looks like in recovery.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You tried flashing the boot loader thru Odin am I right? Did you try flashing the whole Firmware thru Odin? Did you put the phone on Download mode? Remember to take the battery out then boot to download mode by pressing and holding volume down+home+power button for about 3 seconds then let them go, phone will boot into Download mode, the connect your phone to pc, then Open Odin, make sure the Odin :COM is on light blue meaning they are both communicating, then go to www.sammobile.com and download the latest firmware for your device model, and follow the instructions, it have to work, but your phone will be restored to factory, good luck, cheers:fingers-crossed:

Hey there friend (thanks for replying),
I tried pretty much all of what you wrote and it just says failed. I have not tried to flash the bootloader thru Odin only the firmware that I got off of sammobile... I'm at a loss not sure what to do I've never seen this before.

Are you sure you checked everything? try from a scratch, make sure you download the firmware for your device model, a lot of users get confuse with the bunch of letters after N910... also try a different Odin like 3.09, remember to check what I told you before in Odin, also if you wanna give a try, try flashing an old kitkat firmware, all we need is to boot your phone, good cheers:fingers-crossed:

It may be stupid question but did you flash 3 files ROM or just one file (PDA if I remember well)? If it was second option, then you shouldn't use PIT.

Just one file via AP in Odin.
Why don't you just download KIES and run recovery through that it is much more simple and reliable

Kies doesn't register it... it just says connecting. I tried to kies 3 and 2.6 just to make sure.
It sounds like the issue is with your USB cable maybe try a different USB port preferred in the back of the system not one upfront. Make sure you have mock locations and USB debugging on. The only reason keys wouldn't detect your device is if the drivers are incorrect
There's a feature "Reactivation Lock" in security settings. Make sure it is unchecked. It is a security feature to prevent anyone from changing your system Rom.

[Q] Stuck at boot loop.

I have a SM-G925V I'm trying to recover. Currently it's only able to get to download mode (Power - Home - Volume Down) and maintenance mode (Power - Volume Up - Volume Down). When you power it on you see the first splash screen then reboots over and over. Unable to get to recovery mode at all (Power - Home - Volume Up).
In download mode, using this I can get Odin 3.10.6 to successfully flash the firmware from the same thread and when it reboots it boot loops again. Also, tried the firmware from this thread.
I also tried using Odin 3.07 and 3.09. Both of these versions get stuck at <ID:0/005> NAND Write Start!! with the box at the top saying "Set Partition". Both versions will however, let you re-partition using the .pit file located in the first thread linked.
In maintenance mode, all of the options instantly reboot the phone and start the boot loop again.
Samsung's Smart Switch says "Unsupported device".
The screen shows this in download mode:
Code:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G925V
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
REACTIVATION LOCK: OFF
Secure Download: Enabled
AP SWREV: 1
Kernel AP SWREV: 1
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, pretty much willing to try anything at this point. I should also mention I did everything above on 2 separate computers, both running Windows 7 Pro and 2 different cables, cause that's always the problem right?

Downloaded OE2 from sammobile. Same result.
Side note: It doesn't have a .pit file. Do they normally come with one stock? I'd like to try another .pit file and see if I can get Smart Switch to recognize the phone again.

Yes I thought the firmware package included the partition table, but I could be wrong. I can't seem to find any .pit file for our variant on its own.
I am still curious to know what caused it in the first place, as it sounds like everything you have tried should have worked. Other than flashing the wrong variant firmware in Odin, or a corrupt .tar, I wonder how that could have caused a bootloop. And even then, if you can get into download mode, the correct full Odin package (as you tried) should have fixed it. Tried other comps, check. Tried other cables, check. Did you make sure you were plugged into primary USB ports? Did you check the md5s of the Odin packages?
I'll let you know if I run into a standalone .pit file, otherwise I am sorry I couldn't be of more help. Keep us posted though.

At the start of this, I did run into a USB problem. I couldn't flash at all on my desktop from my USB 3.0 front header. Works on the 2.0 front header and all of the motherboard headers. So I ruled that out by accident at least. The MD5s check out. I'm going to keep searching for a pit file that goes with the OE2, or at least find out why it's not in the firmware from sammobile. Know another source for OE2?
Without another partition file or firmware I can flash from Odin, some social engineering with the Verizon store may be the next step.
