Thanks.

I can't seem to find any recent version of App Vault (for root users).. and the dates on the most recent are from July so I doubt they would work on FroYo.
This week I updated to FroYo and rooted. Now I'm looking for App Vault or something similar.
Not only do I like the password protection feature, I love the idea of being able to hide the fact that those apps are even on the phone. In otherwords, I'd like an app that requires opening and entering the password to access "hidden" apps. So if the app is protected it is also hidden from the app drawer.
Can anybody help me out with this?
Thanks in advanced!
EDIT: Better yet, if you could select which of the password protected apps are hidden, that would be the ultimate! And I'd sure as hell pay a bit more for this kind of app.
Your old app vault should work with 2.2, froyo is backward compatible

I haven't used it before, but thanks for letting me know!
One more question.. I have been trying the trial versions of a few apps and realized something... I only want my apps locked when I am done using my phone, or if I give the phone to somebody else...
It get's annoying entering a password every time i go into any of these apps, especially when going back and forth between like messaging while in settings or managing apps etc..
Is there a lock type app that will lock certain apps with a widget? then when unlocked stays unlocked until I lock them again?
Hi,
For some reason, the camera app does not open on the lock screen anymore. Instead, it now prompts me to enter my password, after which it opens the app. How do I fix this problem?
Thank you!

The solution is remove your password. Then it will open the app directly.
This behavior is normal it SHOULD ask for a password before opening the camera app because if not anyone could look at my photos and use the phone.

Hi,
Thanks for the info!
Is there a reason why other android devices (ex. Nexus 5) allow access to the camera from the lock screen without having you enter the password? I remember that you could have access to the camera, even if you had enabled some kind of security lock.
Thank you so much!

Incorrect. Even with password the camera app should open with the twist/slide option but when you slide to open gallery then the password is asked, that's how is working.
How do I remove password protection when I want to start the camera from the lock screen?

Hey guys how can I lock the messenger app with my fingerprint without using third party apps because it doesn't show up in the list :/
1. make sure that you have enabled "Access to blocking app" in Fingerprints manager(settings -> ID fingerprint-> manage fingerprints - >third option in page).
2. Go to Phone manager app scroll lower icons to left to get "Locking apps" option.
3. First time it will ask you for creating pin, enter it two times.
4. select apps that you want to protect using fingerprint.
5. close all apps and lock your phone for 5-6seconds(just normally lock it and wait).
6. After that everytime when you want to open those apps you will be asked for fingerprint.

Yes dude I know thx but my problem is that Facebook messenger app doesn't show up in that list, am I the only one ??
Well you should say that its Facebook messenger... As far as I know facebook and its side apps never worked properly.
I dont use it so I dont know if its visible on the list. What I can say is that all my apps are available there so its not like App lock it self is bad.
Try to block facebook too on the list, or just for test download those light version of messenger. God know how bad their apps are and maybe it will force it somehow...
In my device it appears but I don't have Facebook installed, and the messenger is the Lite vertion.
Tried it on Lite version and it works.
After an update about 6 months ago. The app "App Assistant" and its setting are missing from my device. i tried installing it by downloading from other websites bt it wont install "App Not Installed" , is there any way to get it back.. please help with the solution .
thanks
Have you tried the one in the Huawei App Gallery? Type Appassistant(one word) into App Gallery Search.
Hi, If you are looking up for Huawei App Assistant App, then you need to search it as "Support" App as it got renamed. Sorry, If I'm wrong
im using https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-a13-official-octavios.4554983/ on a xiaomi tucana, installed the vanilla version with the gapps they recommended (mind the g apps).
