this phone becomes basically unusable while i'm playing music on spotify. even after a reboot, with only one app open (pocket) scrolling text is clunky and slow. getting back to the launcher takes at least 10 seconds, splash screens hang...very frustrating. anyone else having this issue?
(5.0.2, rooted stock)
Maybe your problem is fixed on 5.1.1?

Since a while now i've been having wierd issues with my T.
It happens on all ROMs and kernels so it's NOT a ROM issue.
I'm running CM10.1 (Experimental build) now.
Issue #1:
Chrome keeps randomly FC ing or better explained, randomly shuts down and disappears. Kind of like a crash to desktop in windows.
Issue #2:
Clock widgets randomly stop refreshing and will only refresh when touched.
I'm currently using the app ''3d flip clock and weather'' but CM's clock does the same.
Issue #3:
Keyboard randomly minimizes / disappears during typing.
It will not come back by clicking in the text area again, it will automatically come back after a period of time (10 secs to 1 minute) or will come back when closing all apps to homescreen and opening the app i was typing in again.
These all sound like RAM issues to me where for some reason the phone runs out of RAM or something...
Little help please?
Please provide a logcat.

Yeah I am guessing it is a RAM issue (lack of ram) because my LMT process kept restarting when multi tasking, so I kept losing navigation.
Usually when I reboot the phone it's fine for a day or two but then it starts to act up again and the only way to fix it is to reboot the phone.
Maybe I should just start rebooting it every 2 days orso.
I'm curious if anyone else is finding the phone a bit too laggy, or if it's just my setup. I tap an icon or a soft key and there's a 1-2 second delay while the phone thinks about it. I move the phone away from my face when finishing a call and the screen takes 2-3 seconds to reactivate so I can actually tap end to end the call. Is this normal in your experience?
I seem to recall there was not this much lag when I first got the phone, but the odd thing is that I haven't really installed any more apps. I do use Nova, but I don't have any social apps running in the background or GPS enabled or bluetooth enabled. Just WiFi and 3G. I also turned off nearly all the Google services.

I have quite the opposite opinion of yours. My phone flies

The phone is fast for me as well, even recent apps have no delay (there was LAG when GravityBox was installed).
However, I notice the phone call issue you having, selecting the contact and press call, takes 1-2 seconds to get through (no visible UI lag) and after finishing the call, it takes the same amount of time while the CallUI goes away.

The "after the call" thing you mentioned isn't a bug. It's there so you can "Call back".

no lag here, phone flies. have been stock from day one, it's been four months now. recent apps, transitions, opening and closing apps = all fast. there is the noted lag when starting the camera from the shutter button, and not consistently responsive Tap2Wake, but once the screen is lit up and i'm doing things, i'm happy.
re: finishing a call. just got off the phone a little while ago, and didn't notice any slow behaviour -- certainly nothing like a 2-3 second delay to come on.
OK, so I guess I might have a problem. The weird thing is that sometimes there's a lag launching an app and other times there's not. Must be something running in the background messing with it, not that I normally have much running.
The phone call thing is really annoying though, and has become worse since the firmware update. Often I will have to push the button to get the screen to light up when I want to end a call. It's like the proximity sensor just refuses to do its thing. Guess I'll wait for Lollipop to see if that changes anything.
Has anyone else had an issue on the S6 Edge with the Pandora app not responding? Nothing I have tried has stopped the issue. Sometimes it will play for a while, but as soon as I turn my screen on it will freeze up, slow down my whole phone and then eventually just either stop running altogether or will display an ANR. It was doing this when I had the phone completely stock and still does it after I have rooted.
I have uninstalled, cleared application cache, cleared phone cache, changed settings with data and nothing will fix it.
Any insight would be great.
Thanks
I also wanted to report I have the same issue but I have the HTC M8. I don't think its specific to the S6.

chiming in from VZW G3, can confirm it is not limited to only the s6. I had freezing on both 5.1.1 AOSP and 5.0.2 stock rooted.
If you’re acquiring issues for the S6 Edge with the Pandora application certainly not replying, often times quitting your current application, re-opening that and also going back to http://www.pandora.com for your best suggestions.
I have had an issue when running my Pandora as well. It makes a crackling sound if I'm scrolling or touching the screen while it plays and then after a few of those crackles it just starts emitting this horrible high pitched squeal until I hit the back button enough times. Even then if any sound comes through the phone like a notification or incoming call, it starts again until I reboot it. I've had the phone for less than 24 hours...
S6 here and Pandora problems as well...just stops responding and I get the wait, report or OK prompt.
Thing is, it worked fine at first and my phone had not been updated, so I'm assuming at some point Pandora updated and fubard it.
Hope there's a fix soon!
I have this issue as well on a Nexus 6 pretty much every time I use Pandora. I've never had a problem in the past on any prior phone. I haven't seen many other people talking about this so I have kind of assumed it's related to Lollipop and having a lot of apps installed or something (worth noting even if I remove all apps from recents and reboot it still happens).
So frustrating. At least I'm not alone.
Hello there, I have a frustration with my Nexus 6 running 6.0.1
While there is similar probs around, none seem to explain mine.
When using Google Music on Bluetooth/Headset I get normal operation and then randomly (sometimes immediately, sometimes up to about 5 minutes) the volume drops down. The Volume slider still shows 100% volume.
I thought at first it was the ear-saftey thing we used to have where it does this, but then allows you to change it back to full volume. But I didn't get any message around that or cannot find a way to override it.
Then I thought it was another system process stealing focus and the phone getting confused, eg dropping volume for a notification and then just not returning it.
Tried rotating phone to see if it was a portrait/landscape bug
Everytime. I restart the phone, it's fine again before the random volume drop occurs 1 sec-5 mins after playing a song. Once it does it, it gets stuck that way.
I've lived with it for a long time but it's doing my head in now so hopefully someone can help it advise?
Not even sure if a factory reset will fix.
Cheers

I've had the same problem, running N developer preview 1 listening with wired headphones. I've learned that I just kind of have to wait for it to pass, try force stopping play music, or restart the phone.
Are you streaming your music, or is it downloaded onto your device? I manually copy music onto my phone from my computer, and this is when I've got the issue, as I stream with Spotify fairly often and never have the problem. I've always thought it was just some bug reading all of these crazy 3rd party audio files in the storage.
Hasn't been much of a problem for me... Just jumped at the opportunity to share when I saw this thread. If it bothers you that much, try a full wipe of internal storage and reinstall everything. Cheers! Hope I helped.
Google Play Music is really screwy. It works for the most part but sometimes when opening up a new interface like clicking on an album or artist it crashes my phone. The phone will freeze and it wont recognize any touch input. Turning the screen off and back on will just bring up the frozen page, it doesn't even bring up the lock screen. I have to either pull the battery or if i let it sit for a few minutes it automatically reboots. It continues to play music while frozen though. I uninstalled the app and got rid off my xposed mods that interacted with the app and then reinstalled it. I still have the same problem though. Sometimes it happens every few hours but I have had it happen every few minutes sometimes. I'm using the newest version of the Xtreme ROM but no one else seems to have this issue.

maybe do a KDZ installation and it might fix it. if it continues its something else.
