Hi all,
I've tried to put an ICS ROM onto my Ace and managed to screw it up, it boot loops, and I can't use the recovery because it's CWM6 with the graphics error that causes it to display a solid blue screen. so i've tried to use ODIN (v4.42 if that matters) to flash a stock ROM onto it but every time I try to use regular download mode it won't connect to my PC, but, it connects in emergency download mode. problem part 2: ODIN will not flash to the thing it gets stuck at "<1> setup connection" and will sit there and do absolutely nothing
anyone know how or where I can find a fix for this thing?
Never mind, got it working

hi all
Need your help with this. This bell Galaxy S phone was with our IT guys and I am not sure what they did to it. But when I turn on the phone the logo boots up and the animation comes on. Then it goes to a black screen. I tried to booth in recovery mode and the screen just keeps constantly showing the "Galaxy S GT-i9000" screen. i tried "adb recovery" and that didnt work either.
I tried odin and it doesnt recognize the phone.
is there any way I can get Kies to just format and reinstall the original rom?
i really dont care about installing a new rom, any rom will do.
Thanks for your help!
get a JIG cable, this will put your phone into download mode, after that you can flash a new rom using odin. you can find it anywhere, or you can make it yourself
good luck
Tried home+voldown+power? that gets you into download mode, which odin should recognize.
My phone is screwed up. I can't go into recovery mode. But I can go into Downloading Mode though. So I decided to flash a stock ROM but I can't cause my computer doesn't recognize my USB. Used to be able to. Restarted computer, re-installed drivers. used different computers but still nothing happened. USB NOT RECOGNIZED
how to get my phone back up
does the phone still work ?
No, it doesn't boot. Stuck in Galaxy S first screen before the boot animation.
Same thing happened to me not so long ago. Once it was in download mode I opened odin and it wouldn't recognise it so I then went straight into download mode again using 3 button combo and it writhed as far as I recall.
Hope this helps
Galaxy S - no point in writing rom or kernel constantly changing!
Hi
I was trying to root my Galaxy with gingerbread 2.3.3.
I installed Odin3 and downloaded CF-Root-XW_NEE_JVH-v3.2-CWM3RFS put the tar in PDA on Odin, restarted my phone, put it into download mode, pluged in the USB, pressed start, and got a failure notice and that there was a Comm error.
I figured that there was not done anything to the phone since there was a comunitation error, so i unplugged the phone and tryed to start it up, but there was only a black screen with a picture of a phone...Triangle with !...and a PC sign.
I then tryed to look on the web for a clue, and someone was writing that Heimdall was so much better to use.
So i downloaded Heimdall-suite-1.3.1-win32 and opend XXJVT_Heimdall.tar in Heimdall, Connected the Phone in download mode and started the prossess, after a few moments i got error in uploading PIT and the whole thing aborted.
When i try to turn off the phone now, notting happens, not even the black screen with the triangle. Its only download mode that works.
Can someone plz help me? im lost!
If download mode works, it's should let u use odin again or not?
Don't worry. Rule of thumb: if you can get into download mode, you're fine.
Download a firmware of your choice (JVS being the newest, I've literally just flashed it). Boot into download mode and flash the firmware. You'll be back to stock. From here, you can install a custom kernel with root.
same kind of issue with me..the only difference cant get into download mode..stuck on the at&t logo..the phone keeps on flashing a white n black screen..any help?
So I've seen a lot of threads on here with this kind of problem but none of the solutions work for me.
I just flashed CyanogenMod 10 nightly, was tinkering around on it, rebooted and I was just stuck in a bootloop. I can't get into recovery but I can get into download mode. However, my computer just doesn't detect the phone at all. I can't get Odin to detect it to flash a new bootloader or anything. I've tried installing Nexus drivers and everything. It just doesn't even detect that anything has been plugged into the computer. But the usb powers on the phone. If I plug into power I just get a spinny loading wheel that doesn't move and refreshed every few seconds.
I'm stuck. I can't get into recovery to flash, and I can't get my computer to detect it to flash. Help me please?
EDIT:
Okay so tried 3 different USB cables and I've found one that works. I tried flashing a new bootloader but I used the bootloader bit on Odin instead of pda (total noob mistake) now my screen is just black and won't turn on. I can get into download mode to flash stuff again. But what do I need to put in the bootloader section to get it back to normal?
I think you have to start from Gingerbread again
Search on samifirmware a 3 files firmware of Android 2.3.6
After that search on google a Step by Step guide how to flash a Rom with Odin.
I think after that i should work.

Nothing. Never put anything in the bootloader section. Instead, look for a rom that has bootloader in it. I believe that the darky resurrection rom has bootloader.

I had the same issue with cm-10-20121125-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd (after with cm-10-20121126-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd as well!),
symptoms: after automatic install of mentioned version the phone rebooted, but I've got stuck in bootlop, and I couldn't enter in Recovery Mode, just in Download Mode.
I've managed to fix it in the following way:
1. I've downloaded the Semaphore kernel for JB (Semaphore ver. 2.6.0), and unpacked it.
2. I've used heimdall: `heimdall flash --kernel zImage`
3. After that the phone boots and CM finishes the upgrade as usual. (I've did not lost anything from my data.)
(Environment data: OS: Ubuntu 12.04, Heimdall 1.3.2)
Boot loops with cm-10-20121125-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd & cm-10-20121126-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd

Thank you very much for the information!
I was thinking I did something wrong... :crying:
Update:
The newer versions cm-10-20121129-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd & cm-10-20121130-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd are OK again.
With kind regards

Hi
I'm desperate, no phone, stuck on galaxy S boot screen, will boot into download mode but not recognised by computer
Any ideas?
Thanks
Hi guys, I come to you as I'm truly desperate about the actual state of my phone.
Earlier today, I decided to go back to a stock rom. When I tried to use Odin, I realized that my phone wasn't recognized by my PC hile in download mode. To avoid this problem, I used Mobile Odin and successfully flashed a stock rom (S5830BUKT2_S5830SFRKT1_S5830XWKT8_HOME.tar). Then I wanted to re-install a custom recovery mode, and I went with version 6.0.4.6 (6.0.4.6-cooper_fix.zip was the actual file). After I did that I couldn't boot in recovery mode anymore : the screen goes black, the logo reappears, then the screen goes white, then gets stuck at a blue screen. At this point I have to remove the battery and boot normally. So I was like 'nevermind I'll flash again the stock rom with Mobile Odin'. But the app requires for me to root the phone. Which I can't do without using the recovery mode. And I still can't use Odin (download mode not recognized). (I don't know why, but I don't have to press Volume Up to actually enter download mode, so I guess it's some kind of custom download mode).
So here I am, asking you to help me because every solution I can think of seems unapplicable to my case.
Thanks in advance !

cwm6.0.4.6 had blue screen issue. use cwm 6.0.4.7. In windows 8 I faced difficulty flashing stock. make sure you are using windows 7. and download mode is sometime pain in @ss. sometimes it simply restarts phone. Be patient.
