Upgrading from rxtreme & Ripper Stock rom. I am finding this rom amazingly fast and compatible . Just a few things though.
Is their a way to turn off the nexus touch buttons on the touchscreen which are always their? (The touch buttons for, back, settings, menu).
Can I change the lockscreen back to the way i used to have it set up with Ink?:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paP7ugnLkUQ
And ive been reading that installing Yank555.lu Kernal or PureCM will show more improvements,Better battery life than whats already their and a little bit quicker is this recommended? If so Would you choose Yank or PureCM? I had Adam kernal with Ripper rom previously. But yer.
My One and only complaint with this rom is the buttons which wont go away from the bottom of the lockscreen.
(Im using Phablet UI. As i find it amazing for the settings notification area).
Thanks Much In advance!

No you cant use the ink lockscreen its a samsung feature AFAIK.
To remove the touch buttons simply go to hybrid properties > swipe right to show the menu click interface > drag nav.bar to 0% in "workspace" that should remove it. Also if you go too tools and tick "expert mode" you can set dpi and phone/tablet modes for each layout. I use phone for the workspace and tablet for everything else. everything in 240dpi except lockscreen which is 280 and my workspace which is 300.
Yank555 is the best kernal, battery, speed usablity are all spot on! kudos to him for his work on making an awesome CM kernal.
Thank you!! fixed the nav bar! didnt even know their were more settings by swiping right under that menu, unfortunately tried the yank kernal installing over top of the pac man rom and the device wouldnt boot past the samsung logo until i reflashed the f/w. one last main complaint of this rom, Is their a way to enchance the call volume? speaker, normal phone volume etc. whenever i have phone conversations the person on the end of the line is much more quieter than other roms ive used like rxxtreme and ripper.. is their a fix for this? and possibly for the yank kernal?. Mainly just want the call volume enchanced. Thanks!
Also is it possible to get the galaxy note 2 keyboard on this rom?

Is there a way to merge sd card to internal memory?
I have 16Gb internal memory but Pacman tell's me there is only 11Gb. I also have 32Gb memory card but it is useless (except for music and pics).
I would like to use sd card's free space for apps.

yes every rom has 4gb reservedd for system, dont ask, its stupid. Well do you have option to move apps to sd card? but it has to be class 10. If you do than just move them to sd card

What rom do you have and does it have option to move apps to sd card?
I think those s5 roms, i use official 4.4.4 from Samsung now. I think s5 elite lite has that option. I checked and I have option to move to SD too. I am not sure if all apps but most of them have that option.
Hi all,
I can't get the haptic feedback to work on the softkeys.
I use [ROM][CM10.1.6] - modded - [stable-20131221] - X-Mas release which has android 4.2.
Anyone know where I can enable this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi..
I haven't used Mardon's rom from a long time.. But I guess you can try this..
Settings >> Sound >> Vibrate on touch (Enable that option)

Wake gestures seem to work properly.
But internal µSD (64G exFAT) and USB OTG (USB key 16G FAT32) not work.
Not bad for a first release
Works flawlessly especially d2w and s2w.thanks Matrix to bring bs alive. Appreciated.
Edit: tested on insert coins 2.5 ROM.

That's most likely because the 4.10 series of the stock ROM uses a 3.4.10-g6650ca5 kernel while the 3.4.10-gd597c14 used as a base for this kernel is from the previous, 3.06 series, i.e. Android 4.4.2, Sense 5.5. And the functionality (exFAT, OTG) requires loadable modules which will only work with the matching version of the kernel.
A possible solution would be if @Matri}{ modified the config and made all drivers builtin instead of modules, but I'm not sure this is possible. (For instance, I'm not sure the texfat driver is open-source… It doesn't appear to be present in the source tree.) Maybe some extra scripting with the initramdisk and bundling the binary modules there might be possible, but I've never done this with Android.
Other than that, we can only wait until HTC releases the sources for the 3.4.10-g6650ca5 version of the kernel.
thank you for your explanations.
It only remains to wait for the kernel sources for Wake on Gesture.
Or wait for the next Butterfly

Do you nandroid backup before flash the kernel, if yes you can restore back the rom.
If not you need to reflash your current rom without wipe anything.

Or just take the boot.img from the matching OTA package (from here, for example) and use fastboot to flash it.
@Matri}{
To use internal μSD is already a good thing. OTG is less useful in this case.
Just a thought: would it be possible to bundle all loadable modules in the initramfs and then get a custom script to execute at startup, which would mount a tmpfs over /system/lib/modules and copy all bundled .ko files in there? If the script was executed sufficiently early on, I believe it should solve the issues. (I don't have the time right now to look at Android's /init and check if this is possible or not…)
Storage-wise, the boot partition should be large enough to accommodate the extra ~5 MB of modules.

Would you happen to know how to edit double tap to wake frequency? Eg. i find that i cannot double tap too fast or too slow to wake up the screen. any ways to change that?
Thanks!
any improvements in the battery life who have installed it ? or same as stock , if same as stock I am happy to flash it as i badly need tap to wake
@Matri}{ i did install and everything seems smooth so far i did install the gama control thingy during the aroma , what app do i use to control or tweak the gama , i tried using Faux it doesnt work
installed the kernel and the battery is mostly on par....it doesn't drain per se but it is using a bit more battery.....also, i find it that the phone state wakes up my phone a bit more than stock kernel....other than, all is good...the kernel is stable...double tap to wake or sweep 2 wake works 95% of the time...once you are used to the tapping frequency....
i just one question, how do i edit the value in sys\android_touch...i wanna enable sweep to sleep and i tried changing the value and save, but it doesn't save....anyway to make the file to save?

It is possible, but I think, that is not a key of the problem. There was a bug, when device goes to deepsleep and the only fix for now - reset touchscreen during IRQs. As a side effect - lags of dt2w. Try to do this to better understand is it because of timeouts or i2c bus resets:
1. Connect your device to usb/ac. In this state i2c bus is not suspended while screen off
2. Turnoff screen.
3. Double tap to wake. If lags then I need to fix resets during dt2w
Will make changes to dt2w to fix few usecases but anyway - gestures are more reliable for now

I'm using Trickster MOD and I found that there is no gamma and white balance, only color modifications. I can implement full interface in case someone need it.

Please, edit /etc/falter.conf to change such settings. FYI, s2s is not working on most of our devices. Trying to fix that now.

thank you very much.... i tried that....s2s works on my bs, but then again, when i tried to disable it by editing the value to 0 in falter and restart, the s2s still works if i have the screen on....
the only way it seems to disable s2s is by turning off wake gestures completely in sense 6...however that also render s2w non-functional too...
also s2s only works from right to left (on the buttons) no matter if i changed to disable or left to right....it seems in aroma installer, it works on the default setting no matter which you you ticked....
thank you and it's nice to know that fixes are coming....thank you very much for your time and effort on porting it to our beloved bs....

Hey there
Are there any AOSP Kernels with Logo 2 Menu mapping, Swipe2Wake, Swipe2Sleep, Wake Gestures capability, etc.? I looked at TinyKernel and JoeyKernel but neither of them have those.
Thanks guys.
p.s. I am looking to run a CynanogenMod 11 ROM.

As the title said, is there any rom that can use the capacitive buttons?
There shouldn't be a problem with capacitive buttons on any ROM (works for me on xiaomi.eu and cm)
Although there might be issues on custom Roms if you have an LGD display panel, since the correct drivers are not available from Xiaomi as far as I know.
Just try it out
I'm gonna be lazy and hope i get an answer without getting directed to search engine
Forgive me before hand.
Question is: Can you wake/unlock the phone by touching the home button or do you need to press (hear a click) the home button to wake/unlock?

MIUI: answer is no. You must press the fingerprint button.
LineageOS: answer is yes. In new build it will work without any extra work.
Other Roms: I'm not sure. I think it's gonna work with LineageOS based Roms.

Dirty Unicorns and Nitrogen (both AOSP based) will support it also in the near future. I'm just trying to fix the video recording, then i will publish a new build with fixed video and all the button options cm has.
