i was just wondering if there is anyway possible that someone can make an s6 port rom for the galaxy note 5 i know it sounds weird but for some reason kinda like the ui of the galaxy s6 icons and everything so would be amazing if someone can make it happen id really be willing to donate lol.
illogical. Just for UI why you should mess up Note SPen features as well lots of bug (very likely with port ROM bcoz of different haedware)
Better you should look for S6 launcher.
thank you for the reply do u think might have an s6 launcher zip that i can maybe flash if that is ok with you because u are one of the best developers
i really enjoy this phone very much the problem is that everything seems to be shrinked in this like the dpi is very small icons battery and notifications are all small in stock they made everything smaller which i dont like in the note 4 its alot different

Because this time Note5 have lower stock DPI (580) compared to 640 in Note4 though both have same screen resolution. But i believe most of will like this as it's common complaints that samsung have always bigger fonts and icons. You can wait till multi DPI ROM which may allow slightly hight DPI.
is there anyway i can possibly change the dpi to make it like the galaxy note 4 640 dpi which i like since my current device is rooted?

You can but it may break some applications.
Two major things i doubt is launcher and keyboard. In this case you requires xposed module (so deodexed rom too ) app settings. I recommend better to wait for multi dpi rom.

Hello,
i just got this great Samsung TAB and need by your experience best ROM for this device?
thank you.
One vote for overcome 4. Fast and stable, great install guide. You can't go wrong. Tried others but I always go back to overcome with go launcher ex, running at 182dpi.
Tried ics alpha3 and it's promising.
Cheers

Overcome 4.0.0, also for me; stable as a stock 2.3.3 but much faster and smoother

The DPI is like changue the resolution of your PC Monitor,
Lower DPI: More Screen Space, Fonts, Apps, and Icons, become smaller.
High DPI: Icons and Fonts are Bigger, lower screen Space.
To changue dpi: You can use Rom Toolbox app you can find it in the market.
I prefer lower dpi, by the screen space feels like a real tab not a big cell phone
BOCA, smooth, lots of usefull apps installed, no annoying Touchwiz...
Just sometimes makes problems with the Market when the language is set to German, changing it to english and its perfect.
I wonder if it's possible to rip the software from the S III and port it to the galaxy note. Do you guys think it's possible to see roms running this? On HTC phones it happens but I haven't seen that ever happen with a samsung phone. Any thoughts?
I doubt it would be a direct port, however I'm sure some functionality can be ported via apks

It's not crap... I actually happen to like touchwiz better than stock ICS launcher. It's just cleaner and I can put more content on my screen.

I wouldn't really care about about anything on TW5 except improved voice recognition. The current software is horrible.

I think the tw launcher is balls but all the other touchwiz stuff is class, I'm just gutted we lost the screen brightness in statusbar! We need that back!
I don't know why people hate the new touchwiz so much. It looks great, and it is the SMOOTHEST launcher I have ever seen. Just look at a video of the S III. There isn't a single stutter. And I love the 3D animations it does when you switch between pages. I also like the shadows that icons have now with the new touchwiz.

bump
No offense guys, if you want to have yet ANOTHER war on favorite launchers, which btw is extremely pointless as every person has their preferences on launchers (apex this, nova that, go launcher ftw, apex rules, etc. etc....), then take it to another thread. The OP here is reaching out to Devs and other members of the XDA community about the possibility of adding some touchwiz 5 features to our beloved Note, or even porting it over completely ( which doesn't sound plausible ). I for one would love the new voice recognition and the lock screen effect is pretty slick, so +1 to those features .
Not satisfied with your current ROMs features? But don't want to switch to another ROM? This is a possible solution! Just go to this'd thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908269 and happy modding! (Not my work, just spreading the news out.)
Which do we try? the xhdpi?

Yea its pretty awesome, I've been using it on my N7 and my Rezound
N7 dpi is 213 so its HDPI
Looking at some of things most of them are already possible without this. And some of them are just buzzwords to get you excited. Its a cool concept it might become something worth looking into later but right now im not too sure about it.

Convenience is nice, but not always best
I'm currently satisfied with Stock, after trying 99% of the roms out there.
Now I want to flash MIUI v5 (3.9.13 is the latest as far as i know) and see if it is any good.
I see that MIUI isn't very popular here as it is on the Gnex forums or other devices such as sony and samsung forums.
What do you guys think about it - Good or bad ? please state why
Used it, was good but definitely not as slick and fast as stock. Also the recent task manager makes your widgets freeze I'd you clear all.

i'm using MIUI for 2 hours a week ago, but i flash a stock ROM back, because some reason:
the +
UI is great.. no chance for stock ROM to beat this up..
Theming.. you can find a ton of theming on the MIUI Theme (or whatever is called)
smooth..
the -
some theme isn't free, you have to pay some theme with MiCredit(What is this? how does it works?)
i don't know why, the gallery won't load any of my pic, this problem i have never find in stock ROM..
too many crap apps that you don't need, i don't know what name of that's apps because it's written with a chinese word..
so i decided to revert back to ultimate stock ROM..
Looking forward for their new work with Hugo Barra - Other than that, they have always been an iOS-Wanna-Be to me, even though they have nice features - Just another experience built on top of Android
They are trying to create their own Android experience. I tried it for a week and return to cm10.1. The reason is because it uses more ram tham cm when i cleared everything. Im not very font of having all apps in my homepage...and the animations make everything slow down a bit. Besides this i like it very much. Waiting for offical rom...

I just reverted to stock also. I did not experience lag at all, but the overall experience was slow. Ios and EVEN Ubuntu touch feels faster and snappier that that.
I use MIUI as my daily driver and I've got to say it is AMAZING!
BTW to get the Gallery and other devices to recognize your SD data you need a media scanner app
I use the Trinity Kernel and it rocks with great performance and battery life that fits my needs :3
I don't OC the CPU on this Kernel but I do have the GPU OC'd to 480 MHz
All in all it may not be stock android
But its worth a try :3

Why this is not popular here? Cuz there is no official rom for n4. All the versions you see here are ports. Miui experience is thus not the best, but its not too bad. Personally i am hooked to more features like pie and halo etc thus making miui a little less attractive.
What about the Miui roms you see on miui.com and xiaomi.eu/, are there any differences? Both are 3.9.13 and JB...

It's a great rom I'm till using it and love it. I mean it doesn't have that buttery smooth scrolling as the stock vanilla, but it's barley noticeable . Thanks goes to Datsun.510 for porting this rom onto the nexus 4
Looks pretty sweet...I've used the v5 theme, but the experience itself looks compelling, as do the themes:
http://en.miui.com/features.php
Not a big fan of MIUI, kinda reminds me of iOS.
The themes look nice tho but I rather stick to the vanilla android like experience.

Not the best rom out there. Then again that very sentence is subjective. I prefer a less skinned aosp type of rom.
looks good but it works bad in my opinion and since i'm not a big fan of chinese mobile, no offence but let's stick with the identity of pure google! :cyclops:
I fell in love with miui with my Galaxy SL i9003 then with my xperia arc s lt18i and now with my nexus, where battery life, interface and smoothness is incredible... Now I am not using it, but I allways come back
Ehhhhh its OK pretty simple and elegant but it has negatives also...in my opinion its mainly extra useless apps and no app drawer
