What kind of damage is this? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

Just curious.
It is an active that fell from 4'

Looks like the lcd fractured, the (escaped) lc is migrating down the phone.

My MDA Compact IV has like a blurred patch in the middle of the screen ?

Is this normal? It doesnt really effect much as you can only tell when the phone is in certain lights? Just seems odd... Would a screen protector sort it out or anything?
hmm, mine has it also - but not from the beginning (at least i think so).
it appeared about 4 months ago, after 1 one year usage.
i used to have a screen protector an took it off, because i thought thats the reason for this "effect" - but it´s under the display glass.
anyway - it has to be some liquid stuff, because wehen i´m pushing on the display, this "blur" is moving like some lava lamp
my blurred zone is 1,8 x 3 cm....
How strange, I got mine off ebay so I dont know how long it had been used for... But the phone itself was in great condition and you can see the screen okay so I didnt fancy complaining! Wonder if there is a fix? Doubt there is a simple fix anyway!
Mine has that as well. A friend advised me to get a new digitizer (basically it's the screen) as it would also improve it's touch responsiveness... not that I'm having much of an issue. Plus it's cheap, you can get it on ebay starting at about 7 uk pounds.
Any input on this issue? It itches me that it's there.
Seems odd that a few people are having this problem, whats this thing you can buy off ebay ? Would it mean opening the phone up n stuff ?

[Q] cracked screen - need whole screen replacement unit?

Dropped my lovely Note from hand height onto the floor and the screen has cracked like a spider's web.
LCD underneath works fine, still touch responsive and no other damage as far as I can make out.
I hear that the glass is bonded to the LCD making DIY replacement tricky. But whole screen replacement units are really expensive - and the LCD bit is undamaged.
What are my options here?
here's a guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487716&highlight=cracked+glass there's another one floating around if you search for it
EDIT: found the other one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1609937&highlight=cracked+glass
That's looks a bit too involved for me. Local Fonefix shop offered same day repair for £139.
Painful, but quick and easy!

[Q] Dead picture on screen

OK so I have a problem ... accidentally dropped this phone on the ground .. nothing serious like form 1m on wood floor and phone had small rubber back case, BUT now there is problem ... phone is responsive (android), touch screen works, but the picture is basically dead similar like from dead GPU on PCs.. I will provide you with a pic.
but the question is whats Wrong ? dead gpu or some wires ? and how expensive ?
May be its your display itself give it to Sony service center
I think your LCD has cracken itself, try to search is there are any cracks or something like that. However, you would need to change whole LCD with Digitzer as well, as far as LCD are not being seperating from digitizer. It would cost around ~70 - 80% of your phone price.

Cracked Note 5 Screen. Anyone with experience replacing?

How difficult would it be to replace? the lcd itself seems fine but from what ive seen on youtube, detaching the glass from the lcd looks like a big mess. However, replacing both the screen and lcd together (as one piece) seems to be expensive that i might as well take it to samsung or a specialized repair shop for barely $50 more.
Im curious if anyone has any experience replacing just one or the other? how difficult is it? I've been able to fix phones in the past but now all these new phones so thin they just hold together with mostly glue, seem a bit more trouble than theyre worth imo....

Light bleeding from edge of phone?

Noticed something for the first time today. Looks like there's light bleeding from the left side edge of my screen where it meets the frame. It's not uniform either so it makes me think that there was some sealent that detached somehow. Anyone else have this issue? I'll try and take a pic once I have another camera to use.
Looks like the same is happening to mine. Left side bottom corner. Actually seems to just be the paint under the glass is peeling away or something? Doesn't seem like it's physically open, compromising the water resistance.
Look like this?
Sent mine in like 2 weeks ago. Still waiting for them to ship it back.
They managed to replace the LCD and motherboard for some reason... wth Samsung
another thread...its not light bleed -
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/help/light-bleed-t3670247
Dang. That's too bright for a dark room.
Huh just noticed that on mine too. Not that bad though but still noticable.
Composed on Galaxy Note8
I've had 2 replacements so far. First one was on the left side from top to bottom. Second phone was all round. Looked the screen had it's own halo!
Interestingly the store manager said that this is not the norm having compared them against the the display phones in store and his own Note 8 which were all flawless!
Whether it's the light reflecting from the screen etc etc, i personally believe this should not be like this, not when there is so much inconsistency between flawless handsets and handsets with the light bleed.
Samsung needs to address this and actually take ownership.
This is one of the first things i checked when i got my Note 8. Mine doesn't have this "bleed"
