These are some necessary security patches for Android by Google, there are not much people who are getting affected by this but I will recommend you not to take the chance and flash this update.
You can flash it without deleting your data
here is how
I use the Nexus root Tool kit http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/
download the Files from Google for your nexus 4 https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/occam-lmy48m-factory-03ae06e5.tgz
place the File downloaded file on your desktop.
Now Run The Nexus root Tool Kit Follow The promps till get main page as seen Below
Follow the arrows in my Photos
Then
{

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Follow the arrows Below to not lose your data
Press okay then Follow the Prompts the Rest of way
Then Android will update itself
it should take around 20 mins give or take

I just got an update pushed to my phone. First is it lollipop? Second, should I accept it? Like will it destroy having root or anything again?
I figured I'd post in general just so there could be a spot for discussion about it.
What version of Android are youon? 4.4.2 or 4.4.4? If the latter then it possibly could be Lollipop. What's the size of the update? A lot more info is needed.

Post a screenshot or something so I can figure out.
Lol... why I dont believe in L for our note
Other working ROMs on AT&T: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2938919
It isn't Lollipop. Just installed the update. To be honest the only change I've noticed is that I now have the Uber app. That might have been there before and I never noticed though.

Go Pittsburgh:good: I would second this but due to sideloading the earlier version I do not get the OTA unless I Odin back to 5.1.1
I have a notification that will not go away. Tapping it doesn't help. Any ideas how to kill it?

That seems system update notification from Google and not from the hell.
If tapping does not help as you say, then go to settings.
On the bottom of the list - Tap on "About Phone" and find System update.

Goggle did a thing (a while ago) where they down graded the first 7.1 update back to 7.0. They have recently released a "fixed" 7.1. Your bitcoin might be due to this weirdness.
You might try going to developer options and looking for "automatic system updates" and turning it off then rebooting. If rebooting doesn't do it, I'd clear cache (not data) in recovery. 1st boot takes longer since the device will have to rebuild the apps cache (optimizing apps).
Version No.: CPH1907EX_11_A.24 is there : https://oppo-in.custhelp.com/app/software_update_detail/p_name/Reno+2
I install in EU version and everything is okay. But i still dont have call recording option

Thanks !
I have now CPH1907EX_11_A.19 ... I guess I'll update soon
Thanks ! Installed it as well.
Looks like there's no change. Must be the security upgrade.
Please, does anyone know why my device is not able to find a new update ? Thanks !
This is my first Oppo device.

As other manufacturer, they probably roll out their update by waves.
That said, it is very easy to download and install it thanks to the link given by the OP.

Hello, some days ago I saw the downloadable beta of the Ocean OS, I did not wanted to download and installed it at that moment and decided to do it in another moment. A few days later, I updated the Origin Os version to PD2145C_A_1.8.13 that said "updated Google security patches and Qualcomm bottom patches to optimize performance of the system", and now I was ready to download the Ocean OS but there is no longer available to download and install it. Does someone knows how to download and install it? Thank you.
This is what appears now:

Me too some days ago see the 9999999999 number of límited people Who Can being on the beta after the same update its gone ,It supose to realeased on december 30 but on the official update tracker SAy realeased only on india (btw i have the versión ...145b_A_....)
There was a time window of about a month to register for public beta. Now it's over, but the new Ocean may come soon, since there were two betas already.
Thanks for your replies, friends! Happy 2022!
