[Q] Z1 (C6903) Anyone know why i cant reroll firmware and got no service provider?

When i first bought the phone i had no problem flashing different firmwares, used a German region.. But after the 4.3 upgrade from the PC Companion i cant reroll back to later firmwares. When i do, i got no cell service, cant even configure 3G/4G.. anything.
When trying to update from OTA when i have root and CWM the update fails and reboots. This is an ongoing issue, tried 4 different firmwares, exclude TA and Baseband.. doesnt work.. IMEI does show on 4.3 firmware, but not on any previous firmwares.
Anyone can help me?

Is it the customization settings thats messing things up? If so how do i get 14.1.G.1.518_R1B?

I had the same issue when I downgraded from Android 4.3 to another older firmware.
I tried everything I thought of, and now it's working.
I first tried to flash the global firmware, got no signal.
flashed it again (I thought that something went wrong while flashing) with no success.
tried the Android 4.3 ftf that I created, and I got signal, So I flashed the .534 ftf of the same customization number (I was on the Generic MEA) and then used Sony Update Service to search for updates (Didn't even power on the device to check the signal) and it said I have the latest firmware, so I clicked on reinstall, when it finished I powered on my Z1 to find out that I have Android 4.3.
I then flashed the .257 (MEA) ftf and surprisingly the issue was solved.
I now have signal on .257 so I flashed the .534 (Global) ftf and it worked just fine.
I don't know what you should do and what will work for you, but that's how I solved it

Thanks i'll give it a try, only thing i havent tried is the MEA
If it doesnt work i need to keep the TA when flashing or something.

I flashed the older version of MEA because I had MEA 4.3
I suggest you try older ftf of the current 4.3 branding you have.
But I think that SUS is the thing that fixed the issue.

I have tried every firmware of the older versions and i either cant get signal on most of them or i cant OTA to newer 4.2.2.
So i just gave up, was the 11th time i have flashed now... Done UK, DE, Central Europe and MEA.. Looks like im stuck with 4.3 with no root for now
Didnt help backing up TA or Baseband, im should have just left the .257 root untouched until a 4.3 LB root was avaliable.

Try reinstalling software using SUS then flash older ftf

Tried that, its either a problem with the phone or the firmware/baseband doesnt match.
Tried using SEUS twice, then flash .534 (and root). still no service and aint capable of OTA to .257.

Still the same... no service and it wont OTA.
So i gave it up a few hours ago, i dont know if the 4.3 did change how the device reacts...
But i never had any issues with flashing older firmware with root and OTA before 4.3.

275 is the unrootable android 4.2 you are flashing 534 then you try to update to 257 OTA, im telling you to flash 275, then 534, then root and OTA 257.

Oh! So you are having signal from service provider!
Well, now since everything is clear, I can solve your problem.
The reason you can't OTA is that you install CWM then try OTA, you actually should root then OTA then install CWM.

Help! Phone not turning on. Stays on Sony display

I was installing a new ROM, did the factory reset; then it wouldnt open my sd card where i had the ROM saved.
I restarted it to recovery but it only stays in Sony screen. Doesnt do anything else.

I open the flash menu and then press cancel to stop the flash. The phone keeps working as normal, but I am unable to flash the FTF.
I am excluding system since I flashed my own-made pre-rooted FTF through TWRP.
Is there anybody familiar with this problem?

Was waiting for one hour for progress but nothing changed.
Haven't found any solution yet. I hope someone had this sorted out and reply asap. My phone is working as it was before nothing have changed.
EDIT: I noticed it creates folders under flashtool directory "Flashtool\registeredDevices\BH90B21E1F\s1ta\2015-09-23_12-53-21" with one file in it "1.ta" which size is 0 bytes I don't think anything was happening meanwhile...
EDIT(SOLUTION): I Tried to uninstall the flashtool removed the leftover folders (just backed up firmwares folder which had my FTF's). Then installed again to default directory launched and tried to flash the same FTF as before. And voila it works (for me at least). Reply if it will work for you too.

It has never attempted to dump the TA partition for me either, it just randomly started doing it after that time and now I'm unable to flash through flashtool. At least I have a working recovery to flash everything with...

Using the latest flashtool.
But now that you mention it. I updated flashtool to flash my friends Xperia Z, I've never been able to flash since that upgrade, even though flashing on the Z worked fine.
Tonight I'll try downgrading and see if that fixes the problem.

CONFIRMED - This error is because of FlashTool 0.9.19.8 Patch
I've been trying to flash my Z3C for the last 2 hours, I even got a virtual Windows XP running just to check it was not Windows 10 fault, then the last thing I did was to downgrade Flashtool to 0.9.19.7, as soon as I did this it started to work flawlessly again.
So, if you are on 0.9.19.2 - 0.9.19.7 and it works for you DO NOT UPGRADE TO 0.9.19.8 and everything will be just fine.

The tool throws an error: "Error dumping TA" right after it opens a TA partition 1, dumps the partition and then closes the TA partition. Flashtool then proceeds, without error messages, to the end. But, as a result, the Z2 tablet goes into a repeating bootloop. Is it possible that an older version of Flashtool might help and if so does anyone know where I might find it?

It's a problem caused by the latest update of Flashtool, kindly try using the previous version and check if it works again

when you flash the firmware , you must change max usb buffer devicemaxsize to 512k and it will work , sorry for my language i don't speak english very well

i had a problem with my phone after 5.1.1 update the screen was going blank and works normally and so on and one time it all goes completely blank when i powered of the phone and started it but the screen went blank nothing appeared and the device turned off after nearly 1 min so i tried to flash a custom rom using flash tool i followed the steps flashing complete but the phone still the same and the software isn't upgraded and this is the flash tool full log

i downloaded a .ftf file from a link that i found online

This sounds more like a display issue than a software one to me. And the FTF flashing seems to have gone smoothly, so it should be on 5.1 right now, unless you got an older FTF by accident. I suggest doing a factory reset if you can, and taking it to the service center to test is the screen is working correctly.

i have flashed a 5.1 ftf firmware and i'm pretty sure of that but the screen was working so good no hit nothing happened and when i connect the device to emma it says that i'm on android 4.3

Connect the device to emma? What's that? And how did you check the firmware version if the phone isn't turning on?

Z3c bootloop ~ need help

I was following the instructions given here

So I'm using Flashtoll64 (i am 64 bit)
Followed all the instructions but I'm getting bootloop right when it gets all wavy it restarts. Its a D5803.
I installed pc companion for it to get drivers and I'm using D5803_23.A.2.93_Generic GLOBAL.ftf as my firmware ( put in C:\Users\Jack\.flashTool\firmwares )

Try downloading another stock firmware and flashing that. I was getting bootloops or frozen on splash screen with images I was downloading.

Thanks for the reply. I've downloaded D5803_23.0.A.2.93_USA .ftf
It always says an fsc script was found. Use this ?
and i say yes
Dont know if that affects anything.
Also in the log i see apps_log and userdata is excluded from bundle
still no luck
