[Q] Z1 (C6903) Anyone know why i cant reroll firmware and got no service provider?

When i first bought the phone i had no problem flashing different firmwares, used a German region.. But after the 4.3 upgrade from the PC Companion i cant reroll back to later firmwares. When i do, i got no cell service, cant even configure 3G/4G.. anything.
When trying to update from OTA when i have root and CWM the update fails and reboots. This is an ongoing issue, tried 4 different firmwares, exclude TA and Baseband.. doesnt work.. IMEI does show on 4.3 firmware, but not on any previous firmwares.
Anyone can help me?

Is it the customization settings thats messing things up? If so how do i get 14.1.G.1.518_R1B?

I had the same issue when I downgraded from Android 4.3 to another older firmware.
I tried everything I thought of, and now it's working.
I first tried to flash the global firmware, got no signal.
flashed it again (I thought that something went wrong while flashing) with no success.
tried the Android 4.3 ftf that I created, and I got signal, So I flashed the .534 ftf of the same customization number (I was on the Generic MEA) and then used Sony Update Service to search for updates (Didn't even power on the device to check the signal) and it said I have the latest firmware, so I clicked on reinstall, when it finished I powered on my Z1 to find out that I have Android 4.3.
I then flashed the .257 (MEA) ftf and surprisingly the issue was solved.
I now have signal on .257 so I flashed the .534 (Global) ftf and it worked just fine.
I don't know what you should do and what will work for you, but that's how I solved it

Thanks i'll give it a try, only thing i havent tried is the MEA
If it doesnt work i need to keep the TA when flashing or something.

I flashed the older version of MEA because I had MEA 4.3
I suggest you try older ftf of the current 4.3 branding you have.
But I think that SUS is the thing that fixed the issue.

I have tried every firmware of the older versions and i either cant get signal on most of them or i cant OTA to newer 4.2.2.
So i just gave up, was the 11th time i have flashed now... Done UK, DE, Central Europe and MEA.. Looks like im stuck with 4.3 with no root for now
Didnt help backing up TA or Baseband, im should have just left the .257 root untouched until a 4.3 LB root was avaliable.

Try reinstalling software using SUS then flash older ftf

Tried that, its either a problem with the phone or the firmware/baseband doesnt match.
Tried using SEUS twice, then flash .534 (and root). still no service and aint capable of OTA to .257.

Still the same... no service and it wont OTA.
So i gave it up a few hours ago, i dont know if the 4.3 did change how the device reacts...
But i never had any issues with flashing older firmware with root and OTA before 4.3.

275 is the unrootable android 4.2 you are flashing 534 then you try to update to 257 OTA, im telling you to flash 275, then 534, then root and OTA 257.

Rebooted then i had Service provider, Rooted, then CWM.. but failed OTA update!

Oh! So you are having signal from service provider!
Well, now since everything is clear, I can solve your problem.
The reason you can't OTA is that you install CWM then try OTA, you actually should root then OTA then install CWM.

Please help me with Xperia Z3+ and stock rom flashing

Hi Guys,
I've been trying (and failing) to flash the stock UK rom on my Xperia Z3+ which I believe is currently on a Vodafone UK rom (28.0.A.7.24).
So I can download the correct firmware in XperiFirm (28.0.A.8.251)
Then the FlashTool64 process of Lightning bolt> Flash> Select firmware> tick the 4 boxes (Apps_LOG, DIAG, SSD and USSERDATA)> the window to plug in phone with vol down button pressed all works then the flash starts.
Then I get an error saying "Those data will not be flashed : unit 00000907, TA unit 0000091A. Do you want to continue? (Written exactly as it says)
Same thing happens with yes or no, it continues then freezes.

going back one version helped me - had the same problem

Then the FlashTool64 process of Lightning bolt> Flash> Select firmware> tick the 4 boxes (Apps_LOG, DIAG, SSD and USSERDATA)> the window to plug in phone with vol down button pressed all works then the flash starts.
Then I get an error saying "Those data will not be flashed : unit 00000907, TA unit 0000091A. Do you want to continue? (Written exactly as it says)
Same thing happens with yes or no, it continues then freezes.

Did you manage to get this sorted yet? If not, try using PC Companion to repair your phone with the unplugged option. If it works, then make sure usb debugging and unknown sources are checked. You will also need to download Z3+ drivers from Sony's developer website. Then try flashing with Flashtool.

No I havn't . I've repaired via PC companion and checked usb debugging and unknown sources are ticked.
When I download the drivers from the Sony site where do I put that folder/files?

Also connect the phone without USB debugging and unknown sources so PC companion registers the phone properly. Then use Device Manager to update the drivers. If windows says they're fine, then try removing the device from device manager, refresh to reinstall the drivers but this time dont use windows update and do it manually. Then enable USB debugging and unknown sources again and try flashing again with a different USB cable and port.

Drivers are all fine I've checked that now.
What does this error mean and is it ok to continue when I try again?
"Those data will not be flashed : unit 00000907, TA unit 0000091A. Do you want to continue? (Written exactly as it says)

USB seems to be OK, downgrade flashtool

If PC Companion works the USB drivers should be OK.
On Windows version >7 you have to disable "signed drivers". Search here for several HowTos.

@CossieLover1369, try downloading the firmware again and see if that helps. As to the error, I got that as well and what it seems to be is Trim Area partition so it does not lock down your device I think but continue anyway.
@DHGE, can you shed any light on the TA units? I had the same problem and nothing worked be it downgrading flashtool, updating and changing drivers, changing pc's, usb cables and ports...absolutely nothing worked. Downgrading flashtool would not flash Z3+ firmwares for me at all. OK, won't full quote from now on .

I rely on Flashtool to sort this out. In earlier versions that I did not use I read one had to exclude TA partitions.
On my old Tablet Z I am on CyanogenMod 12.1. I wish I had it for my Z4 tablet.
ATM I am stuck on rooting the 28.0.A.8.251 -> bootloops whatever I try.
At least 0.9.19.0 of Flashtool gets me back a working Tablet.
Either .8.251 stock or .7.24 rooted with my boot partition.

I've now managed to flash 28.0.A.8.251 using flashtool 0.9.19.0. Ran without a hitch! Nor did I get the error saying "Those data will not be flashed : unit 00000907, TA unit 0000091A. Do you want to continue?"
The other difference I noticed was In flashtool 0.9.19.0 it only has 3 not 4 wipe tick boxes (SSD box not there like it is in 0.9.19.1).

Thanks, I thought that was the case.
I haven't unlocked the bootloader and PCC shows my phone is connected in the top left but there's is no option to check for updates and repair phone nor does it say device up to date. Other devices show this info just fine.

It should still be fine even if it doesn't show any information. Probably best to try when there is a firmware update and see if it works. Even if it doesn't, you'll always be able to use flashtool to update.

Sorry to butt in: just got a free Z3+ and can't find flashtool drivers for it, have tried z2 drivers as others recommend.
Have been happily working on my previous z1's and from what others seem to say, z3+ is a bit of a problem.
All i want to do is flash generic UK rom, is on O2 at present.
previously i have got just flashed closest 'uk generic', but with sligtly different customization codes.
on z3+ it is 1296-0227_R11A
and i just would flash: 1295-7703 and not have problem.
Am i wrong, or is this normal?
Also use xperifirm to download uk generic, but in folder form rather than ftf.

No, you do not need to relock bootloader to use stock firmware.
and use any other .207 or .205 versions of stock, I prefer this.

@RomankoSK First try flashing kernel only.
When u select the ftf file, there's a option in right side (exclude). Tick everything thing except kernel and flash. After that flash ftf again without excluding things.

it worked - combination flashtool v0.9.18.6 + C5303_12.1.A.1.205_CE.ftf made it.

Hello, I tried even build 0.9.19.8 but it was not working. Even if this version has in changelog "if fsc is found but in all other cases, it will behave as 0.9.18"
Then I tried 0.9.18.6 and flashing was ok. Pity that new version is broken for this, maybe someone will fix this.

hey guys i have c5502
i had a problem with my phone after 5.1.1 update the screen was going blank and works normally and so on and one time it all goes completely blank when i powered of the phone and started it but the screen went blank nothing appeared and the device turned off after nearly 1 min so i tried to flash a custom rom using flash tool i followed the steps flashing complete but the phone still the same and the software isn't upgraded and this is the flash tool full log

What method used to get 5.1? All I see is the conclusion, prep, method and conclusion?

i downloaded a .ftf file from a link that i found online

This sounds more like a display issue than a software one to me. And the FTF flashing seems to have gone smoothly, so it should be on 5.1 right now, unless you got an older FTF by accident. I suggest doing a factory reset if you can, and taking it to the service center to test is the screen is working correctly.

i have flashed a 5.1 ftf firmware and i'm pretty sure of that but the screen was working so good no hit nothing happened and when i connect the device to emma it says that i'm on android 4.3

Connect the device to emma? What's that? And how did you check the firmware version if the phone isn't turning on?

Z3c bootloop ~ need help

I was following the instructions given here

So I'm using Flashtoll64 (i am 64 bit)
Followed all the instructions but I'm getting bootloop right when it gets all wavy it restarts. Its a D5803.
I installed pc companion for it to get drivers and I'm using D5803_23.A.2.93_Generic GLOBAL.ftf as my firmware ( put in C:\Users\Jack\.flashTool\firmwares )

Try downloading another stock firmware and flashing that. I was getting bootloops or frozen on splash screen with images I was downloading.

It always says an fsc script was found. Use this ?

Dont know if that affects anything.
Also in the log i see apps_log and userdata is excluded from bundle
