Also with JDX. Also heard that a hammerhead user on Bliss is having issues. I spoke to Google and they say it's not our OS , that it's an issue on their part and they know about it and are working on it. I'm not too sure.lol

Hello,
Over the next week, we’re launching two new apps that simplify Google Wallet’s most popular features.
Android Pay
Android Pay, which makes paying with your phone a breeze, will roll out over a short period. Once it’s available to you, your Wallet will update to Android Pay and you’ll just need to set up your credit or debit cards in the new app. Any loyalty programs, gift cards, or offers you had in Wallet will show up in Android Pay.
Google Wallet
Once you’ve updated to Android Pay, you’ll need to get the new Google Wallet to keep sending money and managing the Wallet Card. Plus, a new feature will let you quickly cash out with a debit card when receiving money. Your Wallet Balance will appear in the new app and, as always, at wallet.google.com.
Until Android Pay is available, you can keep using your current Wallet app as usual.

I got that email but I have the actual apk but it just doesn't work with m preview 3. I'm not rooted or anything.

Indeed, but just remove it and put wallet back. I'm sure we will get it in a update.

The issue is that Google Play Services checks if you have an unlocked bootloader. If you're bootloader is unlocked then it will fail the check and you cannot use Android Pay. Somebody needs to figure a way around the bootloader check, until then Android Pay will only work on stock ROMs with a locked bootloader.

Yeah, shouldnt be an issue with 5.1.1 if you properly hide root before setup or if you are unrooted. I have yet to see someone on M Dev preview 3 who has been able to get it to work...

On pure nexus atm and nothing I've tried seems to get it to work.....uninstalling/removing SU or using the rootcloak xposed module. I get the same error every time about Google not being able to verify android.

I'm also on pure Nexus and get the same error. Rumor is the bootloader has to be locked.

I am running the latest update for T-Mobile, unrooted, unlocked bootloader, and was able to set it up. I haven't tried to pay for anything yet, though.

I am running the latest LYZ28K for T-Mobile and I am rooted with unlocked bootloader and I was able to activate Android Pay just fine-just had to disable root from within the app and after activating it, to enable it again.

Has nothing to do with bootloader being unlocked. It checks your ROM against a database of "valid" ROMs that are signed / approved (not modified in a way they deem bad (root setting in CM dev settings). I took my OPO which has an unofficial CM12.1 ROM on it and flashed the official signed CM12.1 BACON for it. Bootloader was still unlocked and root not installed yet. Android Pay setup successfully. Backed up the App+Data with Titanium backup and restored my unofficial ROM. Restored the app+data. Saw my complete account for a second before the 'add new card' window came back.
TL;DR: It's using the SafetyNet API upon launch of the app and during card add. Fails on launch? Overlays window with add card ui. Fails on adding card? Gives error.

I know that the Sprint version of Moto X will work with Google Wallet out of the box. Still nothing available for T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T.
couldnt i just use the build prop change method with the att&t moto x becuase it is running stock google android? just install the wallet asop apk file then change the build prop back to orignal ?
Not yet, because we haven't gotten root yet.

ok sounds good I will just keep an eye out for root method soon

The question is, does it work on a 4.4 AOSP built ROM for something like the VZW Dev edition?
I could totally see VZ finding some way to block it with their version of 4.4 on the XT1060

I sideloaded a nexus 10 wallet apk on the 4.4 tmobile leaked build and did a tap to pay at jamba juice yesterday. It works. The real question is whether or not we will need to sideload when the official update is released and if so, why. The play store version wouldn't work.

All but ppl not in US it seems... Keep getting errors when pay saying "no international payments accepted"
just curious - but are you running the official google wallet app? seems like if it were country specific, it would consider whatever your regional payment method is (like a US payment in China would be considered international).

If that question was to me, yes using the official app. Should I use the side loaded one? (I'm in Australia and get "declined. International transactions are not supported at this time). Hopefully we get some stock Google wallet action outside of the US soon.

it was more of a comment, but yes. i think a clearer message would be, "sorry payments in your area are not supported" - i feel as if "international payment" misrepresents that actual issue.

Google Wallet Tap and pay

Is anyone having issues with tap and pay set up for Google Wallet? It doesn't work for me and I have NFC enabled on my HTC One. It's rooted and running ViperRom.
Wallet's Tap N Pay will not work while rooted, also i asked an HTC CSR and they said that unlocking the Bootloader broke the chain of trust for the Secure Element which makes the tap n pay possible, now dont take my word as the gospel it's just what ive been able to find in my research

You have to change something in the build prop for Google wallet to work on viperrom. Do a search in the thread, someone figured it out. But they say it works. Or was that the Viper one rom? Can't remember now.

Thanks I'll try out Bad Boyz
Works just fine on stock, rooted, unlocked. Always has. Rooted means your device is "un-supported" meaning if it doesn't work don't ask Google. Unlocked boot loader shouldn't matter. It sounds like it is definitely your rom. I had minor issues after the latest update but all i had to do was wipe the application data and re-set it all up
Thanks I'll try some other roms. Before I do that, i need to get my mac to read my HTC through Android File Transfer and have to figure out why DriveDroid can't gain root access (even though i have SU on my phone). #firstworldproblems lol

Isis Mobile Wallet - is there a root check bypass for HTC One?

Trying ot get this to work on HTC One since we don't have Google Wallet support.
Problem is Isis has a root check. S4 and Note 3 XDA users found a way around it, but not sure if it works with HTC One (currently I am doing a Nandroid before installing the APK in the link below)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482708
Wondering if there is a similar bypass for HTC One users?
EDIT
I installed that framework module and started up Isis. It let me get by the root check and requested I have a Secured element Sim. Heading to AT&T store on lunch to get one and keeping my fingers crossed.
If anyone with a secured element sim and xposed would like to try and report back.
I've been using Google Wallet on Android 4.4 without a problem. Haven't tried Isis but since Wallet works now without any hacks I'll probably keep using it.

EDIT Holy crap - I just read about it. Well, looks like I'll be updating to ARHD with 4.4 kit kat
ISIS not working with Sense 5.5 and android 4.4 builds yet...
probably have to wait for official carrier builds early next year... freaking LAME.
a little more poking around reveals that (the ROM I'm using) Android_Revolution_HD-One_40.3 is missing:
/system/app/SmartcardService.apk
/system/framework/org.simalliance.openmobileapi.jar
where as 30.5 and 30.6 both had these when ISIS was working. Guess we will have to wait for carrier builds?
Isis seems to work on the latest release. You do need Xposed and a root hider module, but I got it up and running. Haven't had a chance to try buying anything yet.
You do also need a secure element sim card. My original one did not pass the check.

Issues with android pay on stock?

Anyone having issues? I'm stock nougat and used it just last week. I get this error
Google is unable to verify that your device or the software running on it is Android compatible
I restarted and I've removed my card and tried re-adding with no success

Same thing here. I've tried everything and it won't work. Completely stock, I've even reflashed using the bootloader's factory reset option.
Seems that Google has broken Android Pay on 7.0.0.

Is your bootloader unlocked? If yes, it looks like Android Safetynet gets tripped by just having it unlocked. Many people have claimed their device that previously was able to work with Safetynet apps, now fails (not just Nexus 6s but OnePlus, Honor, HTC....etc).
I believe there are apps that will test your standing with Safetynet.

Yeah. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like a happy outcome for the tinkerers here.
Yep it's official. Bootloader unlock breaks SafetyNet.
Android Pay is completely dead to me now. Nobody in the US accepts it, it is a pain to get working, and I might as well have pulled out my card by the time I fiddle with finding the right spot and getting it to work.
Google has really been pissing me off lately. They just can't get their stuff together and they are rapidly forgetting the real Android fans in a chase after Apple's marketshare.

It never will unless Google loosens up on the bootloader lock requirement. I seriously doubt they will, as this is the only way they see to guarantee Android Pay is secure. The real issue is future apps embedding a SafetyNet API call when it isn't necessary.

Bought a used Note 5 today for the wife, no Google Account restore upon setup

I guess I just assumed this was always an option, it has been for all my devices. My wife's Nexus 5x took a fall today and while I wait for replacement parts I bought her a used Note 5 for temporary use. During the initial setup I was surprised it never asked to restore from a backup on Googles servers after she added her account. So now she has to go through manually and re-add all her apps.
Am I missing something, is this not always an option?
Thanks!

I actually was playing around with the phone and I put Google information in during the new setup and it gave me an option for both my phone and my work phone. I'm starting to think maybe my wife just didn't have a backup account set up on her phone.
Regardless, I fixed her Nexus 5x and I will be selling this phone now
