Hi,
I don't know if any can help me at all please?
I just replaced the Touch Screen & Frame on my UK Xperia Z1
The process was fairly straightforward and everything went back together just fine but although the phone powers on ok and the display is good it will not respond to any touch? I have completely redone my work to check I had not missed anything but I still have the same problem. I have loaded stock KitKat & Lollipop but to no avail. I can use the phone with a mouse/keyboard without a problem but absolutely no touch response at all..
I hope somebody can point me in the right direction.
Many Thanks
Try to flash a stock rom via flashtool.
I have a similar problem, any rom flashed via fastboot will cause the touchscreen not to respond

Hi guys, i've looked up about this but could not find the relevant issue as the x8.
Im using the froyobread rom and i've recently flashed the Xperia Active Launcher.
The problem with the screen occurs, it seems couldnt sense the touch. Only the 3 bottom, volume and camera buttons works. Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
You should try to turn back to stock (with flashtool) and see if this problem still persists.
If it is then I guess it's a hardware problem!
Agree with above ^^ try stock rom..
My first X8 lasted 3 weeks and the touch screen died. Bottom 1/4 section of the touchscreen didnt work or acted erratic which showed up in stock test mode. Had a replacement from carrier which works fine..
1st of all thanks for the replies guys. Ive made a factory reset, wipe data and cache then flashed my backed up custom rom the one before i flashed froyobread. Its seems fine but abit out of ordinary. I'll flash the stock rom if the problem occurs again. Guess ive to find the stock rom if i need to flash it coz i think i messed up my stock rom back up. Damn i love my x8 n this happened. Thanks for the solutions guys, i appreciated it.
If you flash back to stock rom do the following key combination to bring up a service menu where you can access a touch screen test page to see if it is working properly..
Menu, Back, Back, Menu, Back, Menu, Menu, Back
Ok. Thanks terracuk. Will give it a test.
1 more thing guys... Does restoring/updating from SE Pc Companion gives me unroot? I need the warranty if i send it for repair.

You can have your warranty back if you flash the phone with flashtool..I don't think SEUS is working if you are on a Custom ROM..
Ive tried using the SE Pc Companion and it seems working. The firmware ver, kernel and build no. is back to stock. To confirm this i tried downloading Titanium back up and it cant access as the device is not rooted. Is it good to go( to the service centre)?
Thanks terracuk, ive tried the touch screen test from the service menu... And yes, it when haywired, it drew itself even im not touching the screen. [email protected]#$$%!
Guess its going to the service centre soon. Thanks for your guide bro. Thanks to u too AntwnhsAnt.
Yesterday I went to a party, nothing wrong with the xperia t. When I got home I let it recharge. I think it still worked at that moment. Pretty sure it did. Went to sleep. Woke up. My phone battery was empty lol. Still in the recharger. Did some stuff, let it recharge some more. Got it to boot up again. Now touch screen doesn't work anymore . Tried wiping cache, factory reset. Still not working.
I have cm-10.1.3-RC2-mint installed. I think I might have to update it. This could be the problem.
Any more tips for if it doesn't work? never had this problem before. I hope it is a software thingy.
I updated the firmware but still doesn't work. I think im gonna re-install the stock firmware, and flash a stock kernel which will unroot my mobile. Any tips? please? I can't use my phone at all atm. It just stays at the cyanogenmod install screen..

I would like to try that thing with adb, but as I have already reinstalled cyanogenmod, developer options/debugging is turned off. I can't use ADB. Unless you know another way.
So this is totally getting out of hand.. (and I don't know if that is also a english expression lol).
I tried reflashing a stock firmware. Worked, but touchscreen still doesn't work. Then I noticed, that I now don't have cwm anymore... how the f?
SO I probably forgot to exclude the kernel. So now I tried reflashing a kernel with cwm, but flashtool doesn't recognize the kernel files... I don't know what is going on..
Ah already found the problem. Got cwm back phewww..
So here is what needs to be done. I want to try gregbradleys adb shell fix but my usb debugging is off and this means that I can't use adb, as I don't have touchscreen.
So, is there any way, any way at all, to enable usb debugging without touching the screen? Maybe a kernel with that settings automaticly set?
Im getting a bit angry at my phone now.. I didn't even do anything to break it in the first place. Just tried recharging it, and that killed the touchscreen? lol. Help will be appreciated. Im out of ideas.
Get a usbotg cable and attach a usb mouse
Then use that to turn debugging on
When you flash a stock firmware you lose recovery.

thanks, I'll get one tomorrow. I hope it will help. You've helped me before so im pretty confident that you fix my problem again haha. You are a boss.
A non responsive touch screen happened to me too after I flashed a wrong firmware. I flashed back the version that was on before, but it didn't help. Only after I flashed this (pretty old) version Xperia T - 7.0.A.1.303 Generic DE with Flashtool, the touch screen started to working again. I am not sure, maybe any ftf would work. But I know that I had success with this one.
You should try gregbradleys method first though. Funny, that your touch screen stopped working, without you modifying anything. Hopefully it's not a hardware problem.

hmmm, I tried this and it worked. problem solved. I did however not have wrong firmware installed, but it was an rc2 version of cm. So it can be unstable and stuff, but this was kind of a big problem.

Hey, glad your phone is ok again. I remember when that happened to me. I just had the phone for a couple weeks. Shat my pants, thinking I wrecked it. It worked out at the end, though. Feels good to recover a bricked phone, doesn't it.
Sorry to bump

I am having this exact problem! I'm sorry to awake this sleeping thread, but I have a locked bootloader and I tried a Sony PC Companion reset and it still has the problem. Is there anything else I can do?

I have the same problem... I changed touch panel, flex cable and update with pc-companion but it doesn't work
Hi all,
I recently purchased a second hand z1 c6903 (telstra branded), and decided I would start off by loading the iHackers custom rom on. (based off instruction in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439328 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2716182). Now I didn't use it a whole heap before doing this but I didn't notice any issues with the display before starting.
After the first step of downgrading to the Firmware 14.1.G.1.534 the display started going nuts. I suspected something may have gone wrong and started from scratch on another computer and re-flashed the firmware. Problem persisted but everything other than the display seemed to work so I continued rooting the phone, backing up the TA, unlocking the bootload and installing the rom. It all seemed to go fine.
Its hard to describe the issue with the display, its flickering and distorted (tried to make a vid sorry about the quality though https://youtu.be/nyD1o28ipdY)
If you can see in the video it does not do it really in some apps like the calendar and clock, others it does at first then stabilises, doesn't seem to do it at all in the drag down notification menu. Even though its difficult to see the icons, if you know where they are, they seem to respond fine like nothings wrong.
I searched everywhere but couldn't find anyone with a similar issue (May be out there but because the z1 has had such widespread issues with the touch screen thats all I could seem to find).
Was hoping someone with more experience or that has dealt with a similar issue could help in diagnosing the problem or provide a solution?
Thanks in advance
Dean
Wow o.o weird.
Did you flash the latest firmware version before flashing iHackers ROM?
U should try to flash another Kernel. There are many based on stock rom, like FXtrinity and X Honami. try them
Thanks guys.
I didn't flash to the latest, probably should have tried before continuing. Is that something worth trying now (I have never had any issues like this with roms etc I don't know where to start?) I also had flashed to the Kernel.ftf for C6903 (.133) as in the instructions.
I just tried the X-Honami v6 kernal. Still the same.
Anybody have any ideas?
Update:
I bricked it trying to revert back the the telstra branded firmware. Red flashing light. It did vibrate at one stage after pressing the power button but nothing since. Have just been charging it until I get a chance to try and fix it. Doesn't really detect it at all when connected via usb but the usb connection sound keeps going off.
Hi all,
I downloaded the latest TWRP from https://dl.twrp.me/i9305/ - twrp-2.8.7.0-i9305.img.tar 8.1M
I installed it with ODIN. The flash was a success and when the phone rebooted the touchscreen was unresponsive.
I have tried another version of twrp for this phone and I can get into twrp, but the touchscreen doens't work. I tried replugging in the ribbon lead for the digitiser and that made no difference.
Do you think its a software problem or that I have fried something?
Many Thanks
Andrew
Hi,
there are plenty of issues with TWRP and 2.8.7.0. I'm actually surprised you could even boot up your phone. The new recovery messes up with partition sizes and some other things.
I hope you have a backup of the current ROM as I suggest you to install Stock ROM again and stay on TWRP 2.8.5.0 and see if your phones works normally again
Hi,
thanks so much for replying. I still have the stock rom. All I have done is install twrp. I have tried doing a factory reset and it made no difference. I can still use the buttons on the phone, but the touchscreen remains unresponsive.
So if I download the stock rom for the phone and install you think it might make a difference?
Andy
Update:
Downloaded and installed stock rom from samsung (4.4) ... installed with success via odin. The phone boots and the screen is still unresponsive. I just cant believe I have broken the digitiser by installing twrp?!
Andy
Hi,
sorry for the late reply. I didn't get a notification via tapatalk. But anyway to come back to your issue: it's the first time I hear that a "corrupted" recovery could break the digitizer. I did the same mistake with the broken recovery but fortunately no issues afterwards. But apparently it's possible judging by some google search results.
I never had such issues and I don't know how to help you. Maybe there is a possibility to fix it.
Thanks for your reply
I hope there is a way of fixing it. It doesn't seem economical to fix this phone? The digitiser kit is around £60 ... Plus because I can't be 100% why this happened in the first place, it might happen again with a new digitiser?
Thanks
Andrew
I was looking here in Germany right now what I would have to pay for fixing the digitizer - between £50 and £60 as well, some even charging a little more. For £80 I could get a decent looking used S3 4G.
If I were you I'd rather buy another S3 again (or any other device) instead of trying to fix the broken one.
Did you tried to Flash stock recovery
At the beginning, sorry for my English.
I flashed ( i think that is good word) custom roms a lot of time before. But two days ago my problem was appeared. I had cm13 on my lg l90 and everything worked fine and then i did an update of cm13. I reboot my phone and I saw that my touch screen in not calibrated properly. I tried flash rom a lot of times but no results. Then i totally recover my stock rom by LG flash tool and kdz file and everthing works fine, so i think that digitizer is fine. I tried to flash custom rom again, but this time i flash resurrection remix rom. So i rooted my phone ( still everything works fine) then i installed TWRP, and again bad touch screen calbration returned. I tried a few versions of TWRP and also CWM but no results. Im still trying fix that problem. If I find the solution then i write about it.
Cheers
Look for a thread about this problem (digitizer calibration or something like that), some were able to fix using a built-in app and then updating the digitizer firmware. If I record correctly you must be on stock ROM tho...
I saw a lot topics about calibration and I didn't found a solution. I also tried touch screen calibration apps from play store. Seriously, i don't know whats going on, few days ago phone work properly after installing cwm or something.
Did you try the tip from the thread bellow?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/help/touchscreen-unresponsive-lockscreen-t2969174
It has worked for some people. Of course, you must use 405 in the code, not 410.
Edit: it only works on stock ROM.
when I was at 13 cm, the right screen I can not be in touch. after my return to rom 5.0.2, the bottom screen I can not be in touch, but the screen on the right will be in touch. I'm confused, what should I do? Help me
