Hello all,
I have had my z3 compact for quite a long time, and i am starting to get tired of the stock sony firmware. I have been looking at the forums for a while now, to figure out which custom firmware i want to run. The thing is i want a firmware that is either as close to stock as possible, AOSP or a CM 12.1 rom.
I Just can't seem to figure out which bugs are present i which builds, and i'm having a hard time finding a bug tracker that's usable for me.
Do any of you guys know of a rom with a minimum of bugs that can be used as a daily driver?

Hi,
After much Youtube and Google searching for good Lollipop Roms, I came across Blisspop (v20), which looks like a pretty interesting Rom. I checked XDA and their official builds, but they don't seem to have a build available for Xperia Z1. So I'm thinking of porting Blisspop to my Z1 (if I can!). But before I try porting, I have some questions.
1. On Bliss Team's download website (http://downloads.blissroms.com/) they have their own Bliss kernel. I'm pretty sure the kernel won't work for Xperia since it's not built for it. What kernel should I use to safely flash this ROM without risk of hard brick (or brick of any kind)?
2. Is camera fixed yet? I've heard that it's still broken on CM12, but that's probably for the older CM12 kernel?
3. What's different between the builds with other devices? Should I download the Hammerhead build and try to modify it?
4. Is it difficult to port for an inexperienced person (I have no programming knowledge.)
Sorry, I'm really new to this.
i'm really bored and i want to try a custom rom on my c6903 but i really don't know witch one is stable and battery friendly. Any sugestions? I want a 5.1.1 , was thinking about CM 12.1 but i saw in the main post that it has some bugs and in fxp thread users said that there is some camera problem.
I was also thinking about it days ago. What is the most installed custom rom by the people of the community?
I will not ask what is the best one, because each one has its particularity, but it would be good if someone could indicate some roms, especially now that we know the Z1 will not get more official updates.
havent noticed any camera problem on cm12.1 roms but a big problem some users had including me was some screen problems..(screen's sensitivity is higher than usual and makes some problems) ... it has great multitasking experience.. good battery life .. lower sound output than official builds on default . I tested many ones and my choice is resurrection rom .its better than others... but i switched to official 5.1.1 pre-rooted with some customization ,became a beast... but i prefer the resurrection but i had screen problem ...
hope i could help you
Sony said, No more Z1 OTA. sadly.:crying:
So I want to know.
Is it possible to change the 'sony stock' + 'marshmallow'
+ 'custom(like Rockz1l)' + 'porting(z5, X series... Whatever)' rom
in the future?
Sorry for bad Eng.
I wish it is possible.

No, because you need Marshmallow sources from Sony, which they'll never release.
Z1 is done and obsolete. If you really want the latest Android version, download the unofficial CM/AOSP Marshmallow ROMs; otherwise, buy a new phone. Although CM/AOSP MM build has been released a while ago, they're still full of issues (camera is bad, low battery life, etc.). They're still under active development, so things may change in the future. I recommend staying with Lollipop because it's stable and has excellent battery life.

People had success with porting Sense 6 to hammerhead, and it's surprisingly usable with some issues considering it's a non-source port for an entirely different device.
Porting a proprietary ROM is a pain as it mostly involves trial-and-error to find out what's preventing the ROM from booting up but we will see if a similar project appear for the Z1
I have recently purchased the ZUK Z1 and am already tired of the endless bugs that keep showing up from time to time. My device is running on the COS 12.1 and I was wondering if there are alternate ROMs that the members of this forum can recommend.
Please suggest me a ROM that I can use on my Z1 instead of the inbuilt COS
Many thanks
One more question please : do you guys think that the CyanogenMod 13 would be a better choice over the CyanogenOS 12.1?
Try the NucleRom it's awesome with minor bugs, and the developer is active so you have support and updates.
Hi what is the state of these Android 7.0 custom ROMs I have seen some available but what are the current bugs?
Does the camera work and etc?
I tried compiling using the instructions here: http://developer.sonymobile.com/ope...uild-aosp-nougat-for-unlocked-xperia-devices/ - ended up getting a "(remote: size too large)" on the userdata.img, and couldn't boot the phone. I might try again some other time, see if I can get a basic build working.
Has anything changed in the last month?
The Xperia Z3 Compact looks like my ideal phone... but not if there's no support for new ROMs on it.
