Hi,
Anyone tried to import de Galaxy Note 5 to Portugal?
I'm currently worried about mobile network support for the various models, I know for a fact that the N920i doesnt support band 20 which is widely used here for 4g. I'm not sure about the rest of the required frequencies.
Any experience with other models? I would love a dual-sim version
920c or 920cd (dual sim)
support b3/b7/b20
920c works on networks in almost all countries I would think

Hi All,
I am on Vodafone who don't use the Band 20 frequency for 4g.
I have the Note 920i version, I have now found out it doesn't work on vodafone 4g as the phone doesn't support that frequency.
I assume there is no way around it?
Thanks
Someone mentioned chamging in service menu but also that could not work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3182455
main networks that use B20 in the UK are o2 and vodafone I think, EE and Three also have a little spectrum at 800Mhz not sure how much its deployed, I think I read that EE was using 800Mhz in rural areas because they could not support alot of handsets on it at the same time due to the limited spectrum/bandwidth that they have. A pity since the 800Mhz frequency is the one which travels through buildings better.
So is the US t-mobile variant SM-N920T the only one with B20 ? What chance is there in unlocking a phone bought off ebay? From what I gather T-Mobile handsets can only be unlocked by T-mobile and not other online services. On the Note 4 it was known that you could flash another carriers firmware on it and then unlock using one of the web services.
I am from slovenia I am waiting for note 5 N920I and we will see how it works now I had 915s note edge Korea version and I didn't have any problem and it was missing band 20...

But did it connect to Band 20? maybe your older phone just used different band that your network supports
Hello.
Living in France, and having imported a Hong Kong Galaxy Note 5, so it miss B20 (800Mhz) frequency band to have 4G optimally.
Is it possible to activate this frequency band or another by changing the CSC firmware? How to do please?
The only models currently offering all French frequency bands are the N920C and N920CD (Dual SIM)
Apparently it is possible to do it on a Galaxy Note 3 and 4 ....
Thank you.
Not currently. Other Samsung phones that use Qualcomm chipsets can through a program called QPST, but its a complex process to do. You essentially bought the wrong phone.
Also this is the wrong forums. Mod please delete!
Maybe you bought the wrong phone.
These are the bands up on my note 5

depends on where you live also. if you live in europe, dont go with the American model and so on 920C is the international model and it works fine in europe. 920CD is the dual sim model, I THINK 920T is the t-mobile variant, 920A is AT&T, 920P is sprint, 920V is verizon, 920R US Cellular.
9208 is the dual sim hong-kong version it seems

I live in pakistan and over here 920c is available but with dual sim.

by all means, go for 920C since it gets the official firmware for pakistan if I recall correctly.
I was sure that 920C is the single sim variant and 920CD is the dual sim one.
Hi guys,
i'm using a Note 8 N9500 128gb in italy, with TIM carrier.
under 4G coverage, the phone rarely show the 4G+ icon in the status bar, but other phones like the older Note 4/Note Edge, shows 4G+ icon in same situation. In my house for example there is full 4G+ coverage with the Note Edge and LG V10 that connected in 4G+, meanwhile Note 8 only shows 4G icon.
with the Note 8 i have saw the 4G+ only a couple of times...
is the Note 8 antenna that bad?
or can it be another kind of problem?
Solved
Sad story....
Note 8 N9500 support all bands used here in Italy, B3, B7 and B20, but only support carrier aggregation with bands B3+B7 and not B3+B20
Hi!
I have also SM-N9500 csc is TGY(HONGKONG)
you can check here
http://www.phonemore.com/compare/pho...-n9500/6303040
it is only Rom problem,
normaly SM-N9500 much more capable from SM-N950FD,
but i think china don't give a permissions for video calling,
and our SM-N9500 has a software barrier for this.
Are there any people will solve this problem?

You are right about CA. 4G+ just means CA is active, 4G is still LTE. Same goes for LTE & LTE+ icons for other variants/CSC which is the equivalent to 4G & 4G+. When I get high speeds I'm usually connected to only one band & CA is inactive, well that's the case for my area anyway.
My N950F originaly had 4G & 4G+ icons. If you use Network Cell Info the app will show you. I'm using TMB CSC now & they don't use seperate icons. The icon is 4G/LTE whether CA is active or not but with Network Cell Info I can see when CA activates.
If you change your CSC to your country or carrier you may get the additional CA combos for your area.

Use Phone INFO or Shortcut Master & try to launch 467 (IMS Settings). Under IMS Service Switch see if you have MMTEL switch, VoLTE, VoLTE-Video etc. Enable them if you do to see if that works.
N9500 snapdragon
Hi, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me out. I've got the imported N9500 256GB dual sim which runs a snapdragon chiset. In South Africa, where I'm from, the local devices are Exynos. The CSC for all these devices are obviously for Exynos chipsets. Here's my question, would it be possible to get my country's CSC for the snapdragon variant? My country code is XFV (VODACOM / VODAFONE) or XFE (UNBRANDED)
The reason I'm asking is because my Note 8 won't ever connect to LTE-A unlike my locally sourced A8 2018. If the above is not possible is there any other way of getting the carrier aggregation to work? Thanks in advance.
Looking at possibly picking up a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 International Model for use on the T-Mobile US Network. It looks like the most compatible Variant is the N960F UK model - would someone be able to confirm if this is correct? Thanks for any help that may be sent my way.
n960f/ds is international unlocked. The complete continent of Europe has this model. ds varient has 2 sim card slots. if I were you I would inform yourself of the frequencies that tmo US uses and then compare that to the 960f model to make sure it works. I am American and I've used my 960f is US without issues. but still you should confirm that yourself
