Unlock bootloader unallowed - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I bought a Xperia SP and I see this line : Bootloader unlock allowed: no
Is it possible to change it to yes by flashing another firmware ?
If yes, which firmware I need to flash to avoid brick ?
Thanks in advance

AFAIK you cannot unlock your bootloader if its "Bootloader unlock allowed: no"

No, you cannot unlock your bootloader if the service menu said so.
Attempting to do that may cause you a hard-brick.

This have nothing to do with Unlocking Bootloader. Unlock Butloader now and you will be fine, with 4.3 the camera was fixed.
but on the info about bootloader unlocking it says not to proceed if bootloader unlock is no in service menu i dont wish to end with a brick

Have you tried unlocking? When this has happened on Xperia T's the devices were still able to be unlocked even though that had changed. There is absolutely no risk in trying to unlock an unlockable bootloader, it will just fail in the process and will still boot no problem.
It has never been reported a NO had turned to YES, but some Yes had been turned to NO, and they were still bale to be unlocked.
And before anyone gets excited this is by no means something that can be used to unlocked bootloaders that are really locked, it is just a false reading of the boot status.

Ok, so it's risky. Is not a big problem even if you don't unlock the bootloader but are you sure was saying yes before? this is wired.
You can flash updates and custom roms anyway. Not custom kernels. Sorry.
ok i am going to try to bootloader unlock it and report back
remote command not allowed i am stuck with a phone that i cannot bootloader unlock hope there will be an s-off solution for xperia

debrand Z1

Hey guys!
If i had a branded Xperia Z1, couldn't I just flash a generic .ftf file to debrand it?

To get rid of some bloat? Yes. To unlock bootloader? Not if it's locked by carrier.
Type *#*#7378423#*#* and check what saying Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes or No. If it's Yes you can unlock it and install Custom Kernels. If it's No you cannot Unlock it, ever. This is not Sim Unlock, and to do that you have to pay for it. Anyway with Locked Bootlader you can Root, Install Recovery and Unbrand your phone just Flashing Generic Unbranded FTF via Flashtool and you are fine.

Hello! So i bought my Sony Xperia SP and when i check the service menu Simlock: NO, Bootloader Unlock Allowed:NO.
I read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/general/tutorial-unlock-completely-xperia-t2534127 that when your phone is
simlock: Yes and bootloader: No you cant unlock the bootloader. Is there a solution to unlock my bootloader when its NO to both ?

You cannot unlock the Bootloader if it says "Unlock Bootloader Allowed: No" in your service menu.
And trying any other methods to unlock it will probably brick your device. There are a lot of LB ROMs out there try out. Try them if you want.
Of course i want to change the rom, but for example cm12 has a lot of bugs and the other roms are for UBL. .

Long time ago i saw a thread that a user was telling that he wasn't able to unlock the bootloader when he has using certain ftf files. It is pretty strange actually.
Try to downgrade your phone, maybe installing kk and try again mate.
Maybe this will help if you already don't know it. Take a look here. Way old that thread but maybe still guilty.

Post #2 says you have to be on stock kernel to relock your bootloader.

What do you mean with fresh kernel? You mean stock kernel, aren't you?
