Root method for AOF8 / 5.1.1 for the SM-G530T THIS WILL TRIP KNOX. If you don't want to trip knox don't use this. If you do use it and whine you tripped knox because you didn't read ,we will all point and laugh at you.
Named it TrapKernel because well its not my normal HispAsian Kernel and I listened to a crap ton of Trap Music while doing it.
Thanks to @g.lewarne and his root method with his Unibase and Unikernel for the s6 , we finally have root after I ported it over to us. So be sure to thank him for his work.
What's included:
Auto installation of root and busy box
Kernel set to permissive
Otherwise stock
So here's the deal. Stupid simple.
1. Put Phone in Download mode
2. Open Odin
3. Connect Phone
4. Put Kernel in AP Slot
5.Flash it
6. Reboot and profit
Notes:
Download SuperSu from the Playstore. Its not included.
If it doesnt boot on first boot, pull the battery and reboot
Download
Do NOT mirror this link. Period.

Wait! You've made a kernel/root for the grand prime too?
Does it function the same way as the core prime?
if so, you're a godsend!
I've always wanted the grand prime (after i saw my sister taunting me while she took selfies and video with the device.)
I was able to root hers (Since it was the CricKet model) but i always wanted to get the grand (T-mobile version) and root it.

Actually, he was legitimately asking the question. Because just like me he doesnt own this particular variant. Well actually I dont even own a Grand prime at all. So if you want to be a prick you can go do it in another thread or in a PM and not disrespect users in the thread I gave you root in.

Open Source Sound Control Code?
Hey, love the kernel and have tweaked it using SetCPU. I was curious however is there is any way to enable support for Faux Sound by patching the Open Source Sound Control Code? This would enable us to get more volume out of this beast!

There's zero features to this kernel. I didn't add anything. And that'd be the kernel source. Is there a way, yes. But I don't own the device so am I going to do it? Probably not

I'm running Canadian lollipop.
I couldn't tell it was working til I was in a car.
Are you sure it's not working?
I'll tell you my settings.
V4A does not work on TW Lollipop. You have to modify the build prop and a few other things, plus switch SELINUX to permissive.
There is no way currently to turn SELINUX to permissive on TW Lollipop and the developer for V4A has not changed the code to work with it set to enforcing yet.
If you have it installed I can promise you it is not working on either the Canadian ROM or the TMOBILE base.

Not true. U just need one of the various kernels which are already available then a build.prop change and permissive work great.
Keep in mind, u do this and you have to tweak SHEALTH and might lose private mode.
You are right that it won't be happening soon on pure stock.

The one I'm using "thinks" it's working, I always have it disabled and set to Cellular preferred. So I can't really be sure it is working since I don't really use it. I can't post a link, etc, because the DEV team got fed up with the stupidity going on here and moved everything to his own forum.
Give it a bit more time and I'm sure there will be a ton of options for you very soon.
Does anyone know if it works with the new Bioshock Lollipop-TW kernel?
Viper is the only reason I rooted my Note 4. No LP for me until Viper is updated.
So what are the exact steps that I need to take to make V4A work on LP? What is the build.prop edit and how do achieve the permissive change?
Project Infinity comes with Viper working and it's a Lollipop ROM. I'm just waiting for the update to include T-Mobile's new firmware...

CF-Auto-Root is now available from the repo - http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
Before flashing, make sure you have enabled "OEM unlock" from "Developer Settings" !
Note that CFAR's display code isn't yet compatible with the S7, as such, there is no output on screen. This means that after flashing with ODIN, the device will only show you the S7 logo, and it seems like nothing happens. Just leave the device alone for 5 minutes. It'll reboot a few times, then boot into Android, but now you have root.
If it still doesn't do anything after 5 minutes, something has gone wrong, and you should probably reflash your stock boot.img and recovery.img.
Thank you very much ???

Currently rooted after flashing the CF-autoroot through TWRP. Would flashing this file over Odin be any different? I mean both end up being rooted right?

Superuser? You sure you don't mean SuperSU? And no, both result in root and SuperSU being installed, it's just a different method of installing Chainfire's root and his application which controls access to it. If you have already performed the other successfully, there is no need to do this.
Is this working for the sm-g935w8 models ?? couldn't see the specifics
Today I bring to you a very close to stock rom, but with some additional features. The 7.1.1 update we received has basically a lot of the Note 8's features inside and most were inactive, For the past couple weeks I have exploring this update and activated a bunch of the featues. Some of them I added from a Note8 system dump. This is 100% stable as of v2
Snap Multi-Window-just like normal multiwindow, but it adapts to split your screen and adjusts the UI to accomodate.
pop up view is all working
Bixby is removed for v2
Removed the haggard t mobile boot logo
Included the Note8 logo
The kernel is a custom permissive beast with all sorts of inbuilt goodies.
instructions: Flash Rom, Root(supersu2.82 systemless or Magisk14.0), then encryption breaker (no verity boot image patch)
and no you cant keep anything, wipe everything but internal and external.
This is for the J700T, T1.
You must have upgraded your phone to 7.1.1 for this to work
Optimum Stock
V2

Have fun, if you want to tell me how screwed up it is I will laugh at you. Probably point AND laugh. I accept no responsibility if you brick your Sh*T
Lastly, Magisk Xposed works great with this just make sure to use their modded installer.
Thank you to Mr.Duck254, & Metabolic12 for the advice throughout. V2 will have a great amount of extra features in working condition.

Samsung replied to my OSS request today with word that they'd shared kernel source for the 2019 Galaxy Tab A 10.1 [SM-T510/T515].
http://opensource.samsung.com
The version posted is T510XXU1ASC7, which matches the latest OEM firmware available online:
https://samfrew.com/model/SM-T510/
https://samfrew.com/model/SM-T515/
This will unblock my TWRP development and should also enable efforts to build most custom ROMs for the new hardware.

I managed to install TWRP on SM-T515 and root it using Magisk Zip. I tried many files but that one worked:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1nIqcIzNHyFiwtm7b_NL_F3X-2LWouL7t
I've also backed up rooted stock using TWRP , but cannot recover it using same app.
I've also tried to install Nexus Stock ROM but failed. I'll try to learn how to compile LineageOS on this device. Any help on compiling it would be appreciated. The missing parts as I understand are:
- some way of doing backups well, so I can recover from them and go "back in time"
- TWRP flashable zip package with Nexus ROM or LineageOS

I've also backed up rooted stock using TWRP , but cannot recover it using same app.
I've also tried to install Nexus Stock ROM but failed. I'll try to learn how to compile LineageOS on this device. Any help on compiling it would be appreciated. The missing parts as I understand are:
- some way of doing backups well, so I can recover from them and go "back in time"
- TWRP flashable zip package with Nexus ROM or LineageOS

You can't backup stock using TWRP because the data partition is encrpted. You can format the data partition with TWRP, but you lose EVERYTHING on the partition when you do. Not just things lost when wiping, but all saved stuff like photos, videos etc.
Hi there great to see Samsung development still going on. I had rooted a Samsung tab 2 7.0 long time ago and again have a Samsung tab A 10.1 LTE(T515). I would like to know whether your ROM builds would work with the LTE variant too? With network working too?
Hey so, when I launch nethunter then start chroot the HID interface doesn't get detected, it just says HID Interface not found
When I try to open Duckhunter HID and launch the attack it says Something went wrong with the permission of /dev/hidg*
I've gone to the terminal and written cd dev/hidg*
Then it said that hidg* wasn't found
how do I fix this?

Thank You so much for posting how you fixed your USB issue even though no one replied. I was having the same problem and spent probably 3 hours over the last week Googling it.
This worked for me also! Thank you again. I'm on a Note 10 N970U if anyone is wondering.

I think the trick is to disable adb in the USB Arsenal section and make sure you tap the "Set USB Function" towards the bottom to save it. I would assume if it works for Note 10 Snapdragon it would on Note 9 on Lineage. I'm on modified stock. It's very lightly modified to as far as I can tell.

I can't disable because it's already disable by default and can't enable on usb Arsenal option. I have exynos device.

Hmmm....... Do you get a "USB set successfully" message if you change the USB setting to hid or mass storage or any other of the options?

I don't know much about kernels but I'm pretty sure it's stock. Is that impossible if I have root? Lol. I've had 3 rooted phones in my life. All have been Samsung. S7, S8, and Note 10. The Note 10 is my first unlocked bootloader. I have not had the option to change kernels as far as I know so I never really looked into kernels.
The code you posted works great by the way, thanks again. I saved it because after a reboot HID Status goes back to default.
Check out the screenshot for my kernel details

Kernel link? You mean the link to download the kernel I'm using? I really don't know, I just flashed a rom and it was a done deal.

Snapdragon, I've always had snapdragon with the added bonus of an unlockable bootloader, lol. Until my Note 10 but there are not many of us. I'm guessing because it costs $60 to $100 to have it unlocked. So there is not much demand for Galaxy Note 10 kernels and roms.

I said unlockable, what I meant to say was permanently locked bootloader, lol. My Note 10 is my first unlocked bootloader and it's great. I've had root on S7 and S8 but with locked bootloader. Sucks my screen is cracked on my Note 10 though. I also lost the stylus like a year ago, lol. I'm thinking about replacing the screen myself sometime soon
I think the $100 I paid to have it unlocked was worth it really. I regret nothing, lol.
