Hi,
Many countries ROM are now available on SAM Mobile.
Can anyone suggest which one is best on battery and performance.
I tried GERMANY firmware and it ain't good. It hangs a lot and battery is very poor.
Currently using SER , Russia firmware and it also not stable. It is slow and battery is again an issue.
Please advice which one should i flash in order to have best battery and performance ?
Regards,
Kaps
You'll ge the most support for the German one: XXLSZ
They will all have the same battery life and performance one you remove the bloat that comes with it. Make sure you do a factory reset before flashing JB (on condition that you are on a safe kernel, if you are not then flash a safe kernel like Philz first).
I did flash Germany version thinking the same, but found it a little sluggish.
Also my phone starting rebooting on its own.
yesterday i have flashed UAE version and so far it is good. It is fast and smooth.
Battery :
I charged to 100% today 6:00 AM
With moderate use and data always on, smart stay, and full brightness, it is currently at 80% (current time is 12:02)
I think it would provide good battery results. Will keep you posted.
I noticed that my xperia z is experiencing a poor battery life since flashing a custom miui rom v5 on it. Im thinking of putting it back to a custom stock rom so that I can switch on my battery stamina mode. My xperia z wont last a day anymore since installing the miui rom. HELP please, what do you suggest for me to have a very long battery life even if I am with a miui ROM. I already put the brightness of my phone to a very low level and I already installed a greenify on it.

Compile MIUI yourself and hopefully fix it.
im on .207 and im thinking go back to 4.1 .254
which is better?
i have a long time on 4.3 since .201 and i dont remember 4.1 perfomanence.
thanks
Do it!
I've used every stock 4.3 rom. Was very excited when it launched.207 is the best 4.3 rom,but for me after a while it starts to get slow, launcher redraws and everything and i decide to go back to .254. It was a GREAT decision, performance and ram management is far better than on 4.3,phone is much more snappier, and i like the interface design better than on 4.3.The only thing to me that's better on 4.3 it's x loud. Its louder than on 4.1 but not by a much.
I have 4.3 207 and its ultra slow when i open wifi, fb and messenger are ultra slow , and lags and phone hangs alot , rrally neef help, the phone is ltle smooth offline

Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...-sony-original-pure-stock-rom-12-1-1-t2859279, or for a more complete rom, http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/development/rom-trueancestor-sp-lite-edition-v3-t2921869 with Minimizeer pack and the rom will be very fluid.

Do a nandroid backup, try slimkat and see
If last slimkat avoid access to sdcard, try slimkat 8.8.
If there is any problem, you can restore your nandroid backup...
So for no problem, you can save nandroid backup on pc
Stock 4.3
From my experience I can say the following...
In regards to 4.1.2 (stock):
+ Virtually bug free.
+ Smooth performance (good free RAM).
+ Exceptional battery life.
- Poor Wi-Fi range (only bug I found).
- Okay camera.
In regards to 4.3 (stock):
+ Great camera.
+ Smooth performance.
+ Receives media app updates (not sure about 4.1.2).
- Poor RAM managment.
- Uninstalling app graphic glitch/lag (can be fixed with replacement packageinstaller.apk)
So I personally would stick to 4.3 (I fixed the package installer) and am a light user so RAM doesn't bug me too much, the Wi-Fi issue on 4.1.2 was the only issue but killed it for me, otherwise 4.1.2 would've been perfect.

Yeah, that ROM is very popular and for a good reason-yet to try it though, I will wait till I am bored to death with stock ROM. Relating to the op, I don't like the feeling of being on an older android version when a newer version is available, hence another reason I'm on 4.3.
I also see you'll be selling your SP (sig), may I ask why?
After countless flashes I've decided there is no better firmware/rom available than the Stock 4.1.2 (.254) for this phone.
I don't care which android version it runs as long as it runs smooth and fast.
Hello everyone,
I bought a used Xperia SP but it is very laggy.I tried both stock 4.1 and 4.3 but it's very slow for a phone with these specs. My Xperia T with worse CPU and of course much worse GPU runs butter smooth but the Xperia SP is slow. It's hardware or software issue??

You have many installed apps? And it has little memory or memory ram? If this is the problem, will have to root q, and if you have a class 10 card, move apps to the card, if it is a basic, just move the light apps that do not require a large perfomace I in here my xperia sp android 4.3, I have no problems of slowness.
I have helped and I deculpe by bad english
Cr*p Software
As you mentioned it is slow for it's specs, the hardware is still strong by today's standards and can easily run Jelly Bean, the problem is the software and what Sony have done with it. I also have slow performance on JB 4.3, I have removed much bloatware and installed greenify but still have poor performance (can barely multitask, opening 2 tabs in chrome will close Walkman whilst playing music ). The reason is mainly the kernel, the min-free (RAM) values are poorly tweaked hence we have low RAM and performance. Compared to 4.1.2 JB, 4.3 JB is a lot more resource heavier due to the added high end graphics support.
Hi there,
As you've mentioned above, I think there may be some software installed that are slowing down your phone. If you use the stock rom, you can try backing-up your SMS, contacts and apps(always remember to backup), then factory reset the phone('wipe') in settings-backup and restore.
Also you can unlock and root the phone for a better performance, but be cautious, for unlocking void warranties.
I don't have apps installed...but ok,Sony's stock ROM is ****...why CyanogenMod ROMs have many problems too??
You can try flash a ftf file with flashtool. It totally rewrite the system on your phone.
Unlock bl and try cm11.
1. Flash stock .207 with flash tool
2. Root it
3. install custom recovery cwm and then try some custom roms for locked bootloaders from android developement section
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/development
4.3 custom roms highly recommended for battery life

Yeah Sony's stock ROM for our phone is bad. CM11 (locked bootloader) is a million times better, no crazy battery drain, 400mb+ free RAM (will all my apps), very smooth. Its easy to install as well (no need to unlock your bootloader). Check this out.
Follow matsas's instructions as above but instead install CM11.
Hello Xda
Recently i have got Xperia z1 and it's really amzing and fast for me but there are some few question and problems i cant find solution.
1. My current android version is 4.3 i was thinking for lolipop and after searching i have found that Lolipop is a pathetic release for Z1, so i want to know that should i stay on 4.3 or downgrade to 4.2.2 or can i upgrade to kitkat ?? is it stable or worth upgrading.
2. When i turn on or off O2 logo came on my screen and some o2 apps installed. Well in my country if there is any kind of logo in mobile firmware its value decrease peoples think its a fake so is there any chance or way to remove this ? I'm familiar with rooting and have done a lot of on Nexus, Xperia P, S, Galaxy 1-2 etc etc.
Thanks in advance.
bump! still no reply
for the z1 there is both kitkat and lollipop update. I'd say update it, i like the update. If you're not really sure then first find the ftf file of the 4.3 version in case you'll want to downgrade back
is lolipop stable ??? as i visited a lot of thread and peoples are complaining about battery drain heatup issue and some features not working like xLoud xReality etc etc

If you want better battery life and dont care about the new Lollipop I suggest you update to 4.4.4 and stick with it until some "major updates" solve the heating issue and battery drain and slow charging of the lollipop version cause its really annoying, at least for me because i'm using my phone almost 7,8 hours a day using 3G,wifi,music player, and calling and Lollipop simply doesnt work for me because I have to constantly put my phone on charge, I mean its ridiculous when my phone discharge faster than its charge!
But on kitkat its almost on peak of the performance (considering the battery life)
You may update to 5 if youre not heavily using the phone but otherwise at present, the best choice is 4.4.4 (btw I'm using iHackers 6.2 with trinity kernel)
For second part you may flash any unbranded ftf rom so there is no more carrier logo

did you have those problems on stock unrooted lollipop from your country? cause i had battery drain only on prerooted while on stock "update with pc companion" the battery life was as kitkat for me

No I didn't try any prerooted rom just flashed stock ftf
Some guya suggest using phone for 2,3 days will improve battery life
I use it for 1 week even without root (pure stock) and no improve so far! So tail between legs I came back to KK!!
I can confirm that battery leak is only in "screen on"
Funny part is that stock LP use same battery as CM12 and for me there is no reason to choose stock over CM so I just got back to my previous combination!! using iHackers 6.2 alongside CM12 (Multirom)
Btw thanks fo reply bro
