Nexus 6 black screen persistent after multiple restarts - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone froze last night while listening to music, the music was still playing but the screen was unresponsive. So out of habit I shut down the phone because when I hold the power button the turn off option still happens. I restart my phone and the startup animation shows and after that the screen goes back to black. I have tried a force start using the power and volume button but I'm not completely aware of all of the specific options to do with that. I have a pebble that allows me to control some aspects of my phone over bluetooth and I still get emails and can turn on music with the pebble.

sounds liek a SystemUI crash. if youre stock, you may want to consider factory resetting. if rooted and rommed, I'd reflash your ROM

Windows Media stopped after power off

When I first got my Tilt, I was able to turn the phone off after I started music playing on Windows Media and continue to listen. However, since a few days ago, the music would stop after I press the power button. I don't know what caused that change. I even tried to restore a backup from last week but that didn't fix it. Anyone out there has this problem?

Don't you have to map a button to turn the screen off?
Not just the dimming screen, I was able to press the power button to put the phone to sleep and continue to listen to music. This way the power consumtion is MUCH lower.

Power button will put the phone in sleep mode. You have to assign a button to toggle the screen on/off. Go into Options and assign a button to do this and it will work. It works for me.

Can receive calls, texts, but will not wake from sleep and no home screen.

Hello everyone. I have had my Droid Bionic since day one and I have never had an issue with it. It has been wonderful.
Until today. I am on the stock OS. I had a Live Wallpaper that showed a little Android figure that melts based on the percentage of my battery. I went into my Gallery and clicked on "Set As Wallpaper" on an image I took with my camera on the phone.
At the bottom of the phone, a small popup showed up that said "COMPLETED". When I went to the home screen, there was no wallpaper in the background. It was just black, though the icons were still there and it was responsive. I thought maybe the image was corrupt, so I went and tried another image.
This caused the phone to reboot. When it rebooted, there was a notification bar, the time, the lock screen, and a thing that said No Signal. I tried to unlock it, but the phone was unresponsive.
Then I got a text message, even though I had no signal. The notification light was blinking. I could not unlock the phone. I hit the sleep button, and it went to sleep. I tried hitting it again, and it would not wake up.
I tried pulling the battery and putting it back in, and now it won't properly boot. Right when it boots, it goes to sleep (the little shutdown animation). I texted myself from my sister's phone and the notification light blinks, the phone vibrates, and the screen turns on and shows I have a text on the notification bar. The screen and the buttons are completely unresponsive, however.
I tried calling myself from my home line and I could pick up the call just fine and end the call. I could not, however, go back to the home screen while on the call. The capacitive buttons on the bottom were completely unresponsive. When I hung up the call (by touch), it went to a completely black screen with the notification bar showing that I had some text messages and the time and my service, etc.
I have rebooted the phone five times now by removing the battery and it keeps going to this. I have never rooted the phone (I wouldn't even know how to) and I am concerned because of all of the information that I have saved on the phone.
Yes I have tried removing the SD card. Didn't help.
Any suggestions? :/
UPDATE: Now the phone doesn't even boot, it gets stuck at the Red Eye spinning logo. It vibrates twice and the notification light begins blinking, meaning it is letting me know that I have received text messages... but it isn't actually booting to the Android home screen. Really strange...
You should fxz back to stock
It will wipe your application data but not you're sdcard info or internal storage
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
Hard reset using all three external buttons
Try doing a hard reset - it's one of those things they only tell you about at the Verizon store when you're stuck:
Once you have the phone on and at least responsive, press and hold BOTH volume keys, then hold the power button down for 10 seconds (it's really about 6, but 10 will do it for sure). This procedure can also be done to force a reboot when you load a gnarly application that sux and locks your phone up - without having to disassemble everything and pull the battery.
Hopefully with any luck, you're phone will do a back-flip and come up!

Xperia T - Screen doesn't boot

Last night I charged my XperiaT phone as normal and it worked first thing this morning, however since then the screen doesn't turn on (the LED light flashes grey when I press the power button).
I'm receiving texts and notifications as I can hear the tone and feel the vibration (camera also works when button is pressed), I've tried to simulate a battery remove but it doesn't reboot my phone. The last resort I can think of is to run the battery down, but without being able to start any apps etc this will take ages (especially as it's 'fully' charged).
Any ideas on what the issue is or how to fix?

HELP! Xperia SP completely FROZEN!

Hello everyone.
A few minutes a go I was listening to some music on YouTube, with my headphones, and the phone was charging - something usual.
Suddenly, it freezes. It simply stopped working. The screen is still on, with Youtube, but there is no sound output, and the keys are unresponsive, everything is unresponsive. Even the led bar is still on.
I have tried several key combinations in order to reboot the device but with no luck. PC Companion doesn't recognize it.
Help please!

Press the yellow button underneath the back cover to reset the device (hold it 10 seconds and wait for 3 vibrations then turn it on again)
Sent from my C5303 using XDA Free mobile app
I already solved the problem by letting the battery drain completely. When I had the issue, I've tried to press the yellow button but with no luck, it wasn't working.
Thank you anyway!
It is working. You just had to hold it for a few seconds until the phone vibrates 3 times and let it go
remove sim card on your phone when your phone is frozen

Screen randomly turns on and off

Hello.
I have a problem with my Sony Xperia Z. When I use it (browse internet or just stay in launcher) sometimes it randomly turn screen on and off. Happens also when screen is off and lockscreen is showing out of nowhere. I tried to disable power button and set volume up as my power button but even with using volume up it still happens. What can I do?

Seems like some app is running in the background and turning on and off your screen. There are two ways to go about it but I would like to know if you are rooted or not. because it would only work on rooted devices.
look for Greenify in Google Play and how to use it.
Secondly , check this app. it will tell you which app is waking it up.

I hope this is enough, however, if you need any further assistance, make sure you quote me for an answer.
Good Luck
