I found that after upgrading to 5.1.1, my phone is constantly having the msm_hsic_host wakelocks. As a result, the battery drains much faster than in 5.0.2. Anyone else is having similar issue?
i am getting good battery life on 5.1 compared to 5.0.2. didnt checked the wakelocks.
Did not check the wakelocks but first days i had realy god battery life.
But now its worse then what i had in 5.0.2.
Will keep eye on the wakelocks and se if i find anything.

Yes i have now looked at the wakelocks and im now at 32% with that wakelock.

Yep wakelocks here too:

Hoping we can get to the bottom of this.

Download system tuner or get this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamkang.fauxclock
And then just look at your cores. 97% of the time there is just 1 core working (on my phone).
Faux's app is about the same as CPU Spy, but Faux123 Kernel Enhancement Pro can also tell/show you the amount of time that all 4 cores were being used. Which is really barely never. If it's different in your case then you could do some tweaks, but I really doubt that it will be different then my phone. In the end it also depends what you use your phone for of course.

If 1 one core is used - why is my battery draining like crazy? I am greenifying every known battery eating app that is installed on my phone but even then, I got bad battery life on my Xperia Z it is two days old though..

Yeah well... if anything... The least you should worry about are you cores.
Have you installed BBS/CPU Spy to see if your phone is going into sleep mode correctly?

My phone enter Deep sleep pretty quickly so it is nothing wrong with Deep sleep and sleep mode.
Maybe undervolting of stock kernel frequencies can help me with the fast battery drainage? I mean, my battery life is good but undervolting can make it better?
Turn off gps, google now, every vibration and unnecesary keyboard, dial sound.
The battery life will be better.

I guess UV helps to improve the battery life, but I don't know how much. The great thing of UV is that the phone also doesn't become too hot.

Hey don't forget to let your phone settle down 2 days isn't enough. It needs around one week

brightness is what taking the battery, I dont know what phone u came from but battery is pretty much a disappointment on this phone. I came from an S3 with a 7000mah battery, so yea it sucks.
Hello guys
Few weeks ago, I've noticed that my phone has a huge battery drain, dunno why, I've tried almost everything (I was checking wakelocks as well).
Biggest battery drain was happening while I was using my phone, not at sleep, so I thought that the problem is in my battery (1 year old, samsung original). So I bought a new battery (unofficial, 1900mAh).
With new battery it's not better at all. My battery drains in ten hours of using (5% drop every half an hour). Is that normal or bad? (Don't forget that i'm using battery with more capacity now)
Thanks for understanding and answering
for a new 1900mAh battery that's bad news, did you recalibrate new battery?
No, I didn't.. Thx for the advice. I'm also posting BetterBatteryStats log:
https://copy.com/D3S89
(Hope the URL works )
ok i'm no expect but reading the BetterBatteryStats log I can see the CPU frequency was at 1400 GHz for nearly 2 hours, maybe thats what's killing the battery... try lowering the CPU frequently to about 800 GHz
Hahah ok

OK so I'm still having 1400 MHz but with conservative governor. I've been using intellidemand till now (GearKernel has every governor you can even think of). I hope my battery gets better (not yet calibrated). thanks
If there will be still some problems I'll tell you

ok... yeah calibrate battery and see if that helps too, just boot into CWM recovery and select "wipe battery stats" but make sure battery has full charge before you wipe.
In your battery stats logfile one can see that there was 98% unknown or no signal. Why's hat? If your phone is searching for net all the time this would be a big battery killer

Try this
After updating to 5.1.1 (OTA, stock firmware) the battery is draining fast on my galaxy s5 mini.
When the phone is fully charged and then powered off, after one night, the phone is fully drained.
This does not occure, if i remove the battery from the phone overnight.
At normal use, the battery drains also fast, use to have 2 days, but now i'm lucky if a can use it for 1 day without recharging...
Reinstalling 5.1.1 or going back to 4.4.2 (G800FXXU1ANL1_G800FLUX1AOC1_LUX) does not solve the problem.
Clearing cache / swap does not cure the problem.
Does someone has a clue? Bad Kernel or setting?
Had the same Problem. If the Phone is older (got mine at the release so 2 Years old) you better change your Battery Pack. That solved it in my case.
Try xposed framework with amplify and greenify on android 5.1.1 (sorry for my bad english)

Did you try Battery Calibrator from Play Store? If it doesn't help then probably you need a new battery as said before...
Tried battery calibrator, same result.
I've ordered a new battery. Currently waiting for it.
I'll post the result here if i got it.
After taking the phone to repair 2 times, they replaced the mainboard.
The battery lasts again more then 2 days.
problem fixed.
Check the cpu governor. I had the same problem with thw interactive governor. I am currently playing around to configure it, so that it drains less battery. My orientation for that is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/guide-advanced-interactive-governor-t3269557

Did it actually work?
Many users report that issue currently.
SOmehow, Samsung devices have that problem the most. :/

Yes, I noticed that, too. It improved standby drain by a lot and slightly the battery life while using the phone...

This is pretty bad :/
You were able to "hide" the effects, but not fully disable them.
Wierd, almost only samsung phones have that issue
Well, guess its that waiting game again...
Last night I went to bed with 75% battery. I woke up 6.75 hours later and it was down to 52%. For what it's worth I also use Greenify (not sure it matters anymore with Battery Optimization/Doze) and I also am running Pure Nexus ROM and Franco kernel.
This just doesn't seem right.
Anyone else?
That doesn't happen to me. Install BetterBatteryStats and find out what's the culprit. Sounds like something is causing a wakelock frrequently during the night.
I dont know which all apps u have greenify but it could be bad battery. My N6 is 1.5 year old and now a days i get max 3.5h of SOT. Even though my usage is lite and i am on PN with elite kernel.
I have the same setup: Pure Nexus and Franco kernel and also have this problem. It happens randomly, i can't find problem. In better battery stats there is nothing that looks suspicious. No wakelocks. It looks like doze is not working sometimes.

It seems like powermanagerservice.display is the culprit (one at least).
Same here.
Pure nexus, 6.01 version
Im thinking of flashin stock again, because i aint having much luck with custom roms and battery usage.
Running cm 14.1 with blackbird and never lost 20+

Honestly ROM almost never has anything to do with battery life. It's the apps you're putting on your phone and your kernel. If you do a clean flash and only flash a minimal GAPPS package you will see the drain isn't there.
Using Pure Nexus myself and only lose about 2 or 3% at around 8 hours.
Have you checked if Cell Standby is causing it, I have the same problem as you and under battery settings, Cell Standby is usually around 15-20% after a night off of charge
Like you can see at the picture, i dont touch the phone 12 hours(i was sleep) and from 100 when i went sleep to 59 when i woke up without touch the phone.
Oreo stable version, with root.
What can i do?
Faced the same issue, using derp kernel now.
Battery backup is much better

Im with blu spark.. Not good enough, can you give me download?
That's 40% drain in 12 hours.
So 3,3% per hour.
Android system doesn't mean anything in your title.
It can be any application.
Use Betterbatterystats or Gsam battery monitor for a few hours and report the results.
