If you want to play games the best option you can use is a custom STOCK rom due to stability and proper gpu drivers, libraries and patches for our Ace . You can face troubles when you use CM10.x roms for gaming, because of some video libraries e.g. were ported, so they aren't a good idea to improve your gaming performance In addition to this fact, the roms based in Stock firmwares have better battery life :good:

Sure,
Semaphore kernel is excellent, he have excellent app that control any feature.
you can pick big mem that Increases ram.
semaphore
Well, that's where I am getting confused.
At the website of semaphore, There are 3 versions of kernels:
GT-I9000
GT-I9000 ICS
GT-I9000 JB
As far as I know, and that's not much (sorry!), I believe with my Android version (4.1.2), The right choice is the GT-I9000 ICS kernel.
When going for the GT-I9000 ICS option, I believe I see only really, really old versions, while current versions of this rom are in the range of 2.9.15:
Semaphore_ICS_1.3.0s.tar
So, confused, I believe to have the latest CyanogenMod, what Semaphore kernel version do I need to choose?
Again, your help is highly appreciated!

4.1.2 is jellybean, so you need JB kernel not an ICS one. So go to Semaphore JB and pick up latest kernel

[Q] How to Upgrade Android OS in i9001 from 2.3.6? - Please Help! TOTAL Newbie here

Hello everyone
I am from India and am using Vodafone India as my career. I purchased Samsung Galaxy S Plus i9001 few years back and it is currently running 2.3.6 version (official update by Samsung) of Android OS. Following are some of the details of my device:
* Model number: GT-i9001
* Firmware version: 2.3.6
* Baseband version: i9001DDKP9
* Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-perf [email protected]#1
* Build number: Gingerbread.XXKQD
I am tired of this version of Android OS as it is somewhat laggy and I would like to upgrade my device to higher version like KitKat. Can you please guide me how to proceed because I am a complete newbie in this rooting field and I even don't know how/where to start?
I am basically looking for performance improvements and more features in gt-i9001.
P.S. I also have a Note 2 device (running 4.4.2) and I love its performance and features. But I really need to upgrade my i9001 OS.
Thanks a lot
- Mrinmay
