Please help me. After rooting I have lost private mode functionality. Any ideas will be highly appreciated.
Some Samsung specific things like private mode, Samsung pay, all share etc don't work after rooting... It checks for your settings> about device> status> device status.... If it's not 'official' ( custom), then you lose these features

Flash your stock firmware file by Odin using PC... You will lose root and all your apps are back to stock..
Or you can install similar app from play store which can lock your apps ( if you are only concerned about private mode)

WAIT A SECOND, your phone is not n7000 so NEVER use files which is for n7000, just telling you to avoid bricking your device
and as nokiamodeln91 said, you must root so you can install titanium backup and from this app you can uninstall system apps.
hope this helped
I never saw such recent apps interface before
Try disabling those apps,if it doesnt work, you need to be rooted to uninstall those apps
On ICS? Try disabling like mentioned via settings>applications if you are on ICS

hi!
my samsung note from vodafone keeps getting error message when trying download or update any apps larger than 7.5mb, when i logged into google play account, the status of those apps were completed. these have been happening for 1 month, since i come back from 3 months holiday overseas. I have factory reset my samsung note when the issues happened, but nothing help.
when i download or update those apps, i would mostly get the error message "package file is invalid" and also "error 911" "error 923". i contacted vodafone and google play support, they checked everything for me and couldn't find any issues between their services and my accounts.
when i shared the wifi to an ipad or a samsung tab, there was no problem downloading on these devices. so the issues are only with my note n7000.
i am wondering if there is any settings that could cap my downloading capacity.
can anyone help me with the issues asap please? it's such a headache!!!
thanks!
Why don't you try wifi, bro? Just a suggestion.

I have the same issue! Thought it was just "normal" or Play Store related, not a problem. Hope there's an answer somewhere.
if you have checked all the settings related to APN, clear data, and cache of Google play and play services, also uninstalled updates, wiped dalvik cache in recovery.. still the same issue. once try to delete the google account and re enter it. and check again
Well there are some 3G packs that limit bandwidth. I dont think its a problem of your device when you can download over wifi. Change your sim and try again with another one.

If everything is stock and you didnt tinker with rom/ google apps then try warrantee.
If warrantee/Samsung cant fix it then try philz kernel for your rom. downoload your csc rom (dial *#06#, to get emei).
then dial *#272*youremeihere# then you know what csc and what rom to download.
Now backup fotos, texts etc (no apps or data) and go into recovery mode, on phillz kernel and wipe everything, also in advanced (only dalvik) Go to mounts and format everything (take out sdcard before)
Now head into download mode, confirm and flash the rom via pc odin (dr ketans thread stickied in development section)
It should be working again after this.
all at own risk
Does anyone know what's the latest and simplest method to unroot the device so OTA updates can be downloaded? If odining back to stock firmware can be avoided that'd be great. I'm trying to get rid of some annoying issues on my current build. Thanks.

I gave in and flashed the original os. The device runs significantly better. It seems the themes from Samsung slowed down my phone and caused a lot of issues with the dialer app.

Need really bad to unroot restore stock G925AUCU2AOF4, using Odin. My Galaxy Edge has Null for IMEI, servicemode is blank no commands, and no broadband version so no Sim will work. if not posted yet anyone know about when it will be available here as this is most trustworthy site? Also i hear it is not wise, possible to flash with a previous version than my current phone which is G925AUCU2AOF4 - i hope i and others don't have to wait too long.
Thanks,

I've never had any hiccups rooting any galaxy always choosing chainfire method .
Just picked up s6 and updated to 5.1.1
As I'm looking around posts it's not telling me a lot about root options without any issues ..I see more about issues on 5.1.1 camera issues etc...after root and having to flash boot.bin ?
What is the current safest method to root the 5.1.1 update ,Is it still using chainfire 5.0.2 root
Last thing I want is problems .
A link and quick rundown would be awesome
Like i mentioned I've never felt the need ever to ask about rooting any galaxy s4 S5 etc.... except this time seems necessary

I am having the same issue as OP. I don't know how he feels about it, but I don't care about KNOX! Help! Pingpong seemed the safest alternative after multiple attempts using ODIN always resulting in soft brick. Pinpong apparently isn't updated for the S6 even though I got the link in the T-mobile thread for the S6

If you do care about KNOX:
Look up "engineer boatloader" on the forums. I have never used this method before, so beware. Fingerprint scanner might not work!

I thought that method only gives you a temp root as it causes issues with calling and/or wifi, so you use it just to unlock then revert back to gain functionality?

The first method jeffrelyn_ posted is what you need if you don't care about Knox. Issues with calling were only when the method was first created, but has been patched for a while now so no issues, and it is a permanent root
The engineering bootloader is the only method that has a problem because the fingerprint reader does not function

The whole process looks like a sh!t show. Which is why I'm just gonna stick with stock.

Alright, if you don't care about KNOX:
Get the correct version of TWRP for your device. Flash using ODIN. Might as well flash the latest bootloader and modem if you haven't done so already (flash entire firmware package if you can't find the modem/bootloader only).
Now, grab the latest Unikernel from the Unified Development forum. Flash using ODIN/TWRP, your choice (pick the right one!).
Download SuperSU from the Play Store. ??? Profit!

I already have the correct version of TWRP for my phone but I don't know how to go about flashing it with ODIN. I'm kind of new to Samsung and ODIN and I am kind of ignorant to this whole process, but I want to learn!!
So I just flash TWRP directly?
Sent from my SM-G920T using XDA Free mobile app
I mean flash it to the phone using ODIN directly as I do not have root yet. Which I thought would make TWRP useless

I own a N920C with root and Dr. Ketan's rom.
I have noticed that the smart manager say always that a threat found.
As you can see in the attached photo there is no details about it.
Any ideas ?
Maybe has something to do with Knox?
Since you're using a custom ROM.
Root and super user are the threats..

Makes sense...
I know that can be the reason but I guess then that if I'll press reboot that will block my root.
Thought that maybe someone have experience it as well.
On the S6 post root, this was fixed for me by freezing securitylogagent using titanium backup.
