Point me to a C6906 Rooted FTF - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Seem to be pre-rooted FTF's of 5.1.1 for other devices but not so far for North American C6906

I have not seen any pre-rooted FTFs, only pre-rooted zips.
It looks like you already tried my pre-rooted zip. All reports of clean flashing say it works fine that way.
There is no North American market release, only specifically Canada or specifically USA.

I'm waiting for an FTF, too. I tried making one using PRFCreator and a stock 5.1.1 download, but it didn't work. Might be some detail I'm not aware of, as I've never really tried that sort of thing before.
Couldn't manage to get a Recovery to stick on 5.0.2 (though SU/Root worked just fine) so I never had the ability to do a pre-rooted ZIP.

The C6906 firmware for 14.6.A.0.368_Customized_US is available to download from XperiFirm.
Download that and unpack it, then use Flashtool to create an FTF to flash from within Flashtool itself. If you want a pre-rooted zip, download PRFCreator and create a pre-rooted zip with the FTF you created that you can flash from TWRP.
There are guides for these steps on XDA that have been created by some talented community members, just search the forums, that's how I worked it all out!

If you're rooted on 5.0, run the installer version of XZDR and you should be able to hang onto custom recoveries.

I'm on 5.1.1 now (thanks to that failed PRF test) and since I can't use Titanium, I don't want to wipe and downgrade. Tried just flashing the 5.0.2 kernel the other night to try to re-root that way and my phone flipped out.

how can i update to lolipop and keep my root?
10x.
Yes you can indeed! You just have to flash a pre-rooted Lollipop firmware (linked). That link has a pre-made pre-rooted 5.0.2 Lollipop firmware that should work well! The only problem right now is the the XZDualRecovery does not really support Lollipop yet, but will very soon be updated!
You may also want to refer to this comprehensive guide.

And is that a problem if XZDualRecovery is not supported yet ?
I have a Z3c rooted on 4.4 and I still don't understand what is the purpose of dual recovery. What does it change for me on a daily basis if I flash a pre-booked 5.0.2 and if dual recovery doesn't work yet ?
Sorry for the dumb question, I prefer to make sure before trying to flash the pre-booked 5.02

You might have problems installing Xposed. In KitKat I could only install it from Recovery. If Lollipop is the same you might not be able to install it until there's a working Recovery.
Xposed is still alpha for lollipop, expect issues.
i just donwload this file and 1 more qustion...
is it support hebrew? if not where do i get file like this thet support hebrew?
and i simplly update via ota...my root will dissappere?

i'm using kk and already install this by recovery after reading that post
After reading a couple of posts :
- "real" root on lollipop is not yet available. You can't mount system as r/w without recovery.
- no recovery yet support lollipop.
- xposed is yet in beta for lollipop. However, everything works except modules made specifically for kk.
- xposed can only be installed via recovery on lp. It's because of security breach fixed.
So, I would advise to wait for a recovery before flashing lp.
Best chance are at nut's dual recovery.
Regards.

[Q] Xposed on I537 running Lollipop OC6

I have an S4 Active I537 which I recently installed the rooted OC6 Lollipop firmware. I have been having a hard time trying to get the framework to install. I got the xposed-sdk21-arm-20150430.zip file from here. I understand that I need to recovery install it. I tried doing the volume up, power and home trick to get into the recovery mode and from there I select "apply update from external storage". It fails and gives the message: "E: footer is wrong. E: Signature verification failed" After that it reboots and automatically performs a recovery format.
I have read that I would need to flash either TWRP or CWM, but apparently none of these are available for the I537.
Any Help?

Use flash fire in lieu of a recovery, we can't use a custom recovery with the locked bootloader. And you can't install any non stock, unofficial software in the stock recovery
Xposed works on our devices (you have to use the special tw version). But it is still an alpha. I have had a lot of issues with FCs and nova launcher not working. I'm trying to make it work total and proper but no luck so far. The replacement gapps in that post for tw Xposed fixed some but not all Google play related FCs but Google play isn't working even after installing the replacement ones here is the link for the tw version. http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3113463

Do exactly what was described in Post #2 and #3 in this thead: use FlashFire to flash the TouchWiz version of Xposed.
Install xposed with this apk

ALL Gravitybox features actually do work, as it's under most do not...what I have to do is everytime I make a change, before I reboot I choose battery color and re-apply my color for it. By ending with a feature that works without complication, it seems it then let's the new setup you chose also work. Don't know why this is but everything on my I537 is changed around with GravityBox, took me awhile to figure this out...but trying to figure out which features worked, I was able to get them all to eventually work.
I'm in the same boat as you, except I have xposed framework. What you need is a DEODEXED ROM on it. You use Odin to get on KitKat, root with towelroot, the upgrade to OC6 (not OC7) with a DEODEXED ROM. Then. Once you're in lolipop, install the xposed installer, then the framework with flash fire. One thing though, download all the things you need to your PC because wifi will not work while you are in kitkat, upgrading to lolipop. (At least it didn't for me)

[Q] Phone rooted but stuck on bootloop

Hi, I tried searching for this here (I remember reading something about the bootloop problem) but can't seem to find the thread, so any help will be greatly appreciated.
I have successfully rooted my Z3c using this guide all the way to the very end, however I noticed that the wifi wasn't working. I figured it was simply because I hadn't flashed the 23.1.A.0.690 firmware yet, but once I did, my phone is stuck in a bootloop; the sony logo appears and the phone resets over and over. I'm still able to go into fastboot but my question is, how can I put a stop to the boot loop? should I flash the newest FW (D5803_23.1.A.1.28_Customized_US.ftf), go back to the one the phone was shipped with (D5803_23.1.A.0.726_Customized_US.ftf), or reflash the root exploit one (D5803_23.0.1.A.5.77_US.ftf)>
UPDATE: I flashed D5803_23.0.1.A.5.77_US.ftf and the phone booted up without a hitch and kept rooted.

Bootloops on Android devices can be caused by multiple factors. I suggest Flashing the .93 Kitkat firmware from there Root and if I am not mistaken there are flashable ( .zip) Pre-Rooted Roms which are Lollipop found in the Android Development Section of this Area.
Just make sure to flash the FW corresponding to your Model Number either D5803/833
If you prefer the harder way you can always use Flashtool to flash the Stock 4.4 FTF it came with and upgrade from there.

Yeah, what I did was reflash the .77 FW without wiping system, and then, from there I flashed this 5.02 image, however now I am encountering a different problem: a persisting notification stating that I need to update google play services, even when I'm using the 7.5.73 version for 036. Has any one else encountered this problem? Is there a solution to this?

You can always download GAPPS manually, and flash it via Recovery if you think the Google Play Services that comes with your FW is bugged

But I have make a prerooted for my device with us version today included the new dualrecovery with PRF. I will try it this evening. I waited for new recovery only for the thing, that remount boot refix will work and I can use link2sd.

I rooted my device yesterday with kingroot successfully, but I reverted it and think I will root it this evening with the old known method. I read, that there could be a method to uninstall kingroot after succesfull rooting, and you can install super su over playstore and nuts dualrecovery over pc. Maybe you can try it and say if it works
I have a Problem with kingroot, cause it installs a chinese app, that I dont understand, cause I cannot read chinese. So I reversed root and deinstalled everything from kingroot.
But I think here in xda dev the trust kingroot. I have problems, cause I dont understand chinese I prefer the classical method to root.

The method for Kingroot to SuperSu is available but I can't make it work, kingroot keep conflicting with the process and Language is the only problem with me too, if it comes in English I would use it.
Just confirming the classical method

Can you please tell steps to install recovery on lollipop without bootloops.

z1 Constantly bootlooping?

Hi all, after a long time I'm back!
I restored my phone to stock as I was on a version of crdroid which was well out of date.
So I have downloaded Sony Mobile Flasher, and have so far tried 4 different FTF files. They all flash correctly to the phone, however when I try to flash a custom recovery (I have tried dualrecovery, free xperia, CWM) it always gives me the logo of the custom flash I tried then bootloops.
I'm not sure if this is related but I've also tried rooting the phone via the stock rom. I have managed it successfully, somewhat. Some apps work with root, for example SuperSU appears when I use Root browser, asking whether I want to allow access or deny, however adaway, or Xposed can't install (presumably they can't make changes to system). Also busybox can't seem to install, even after granting it root permissions.
So the main problem I am facing at the moment is I can't seem to install a custom recovery without getting in constant bootloops, requiring flashing back to stock.
Cheers!
Hi,
It seems to me you are using an incompatible recovery with your current firmware. AFAIK Sony updated the bootloader firmware with the lollipop update, and it handles recovery differently than it did before.
Make sure you are running the right software as said on the recovery thread.
All the best,

Hi mate, thanks for the reply.
I have tried multiple firmware's, from 14.2.A.0.290.1276.0875 up to 14.4.A.0.108, with a couple in-between too. I've also tried doomkernel, freexperia, dualrecovery etc on each of these firmware's separately, still bootloops afterwards though
