Hello, in trying to play a 4K video on this tablet, searching in youtube and the official webpage i see that the X98 tablet must play 4K videos.
This is my tablet trying to play a 4K video in windows 10 with media player classic. My tablet its on 2.02 bios
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paaE5-hhXso
You can see that the mouse its ultra laggy in windows 10 when i open the video file, youtube video in 4K its laggy too.
i dont know to put youtube links sorry
If i try to play the same video in android 5.0 with mx player i have the same results.
And this is the 4K file that im trying to play, this file works fine on my desktop PC with media player classic:

Anyone have another video file to test my tablet in 4K? Maybe my CPU its broken or something?
Have you turn on gpu acceleration for video in the player ?
PS : I checked that video - this is hevc codec ( h265 ) and 4 k ... - the tablet to run it smooth had not even a chance .
Try something with h264 codec and 4 K ...
Thank You, ok i will try with h264 códec instead h265.

Hello,
I'm on cm7 .51 and I was wondering if anyone can play a 1080p movie ?
I've tried .mp4, streaming from youtube on tv or not same result :720p is smooth and 1080p is buggy. And which video player is better ?
With MoboPlayer, Rockplayer lite, and stock : Sound and no image.
On youtube : Buggy
Or is it cm that doesn't support that resolution ? But if that's it why is it half-working on youtube ?
Thanks

Which format you are trying to Play.. ?
Share link .. i ll try in my Note..
is this a video you have encoded yourself or one you have downloaded?
It's a video i copy from my friend (Ice Age2), dont know if he rip it himeself, format mkv. It play perfectly fine on his mac and his Iphone4(lag). My flv file from "Digital Tutors - Creating Stylized Female Character Concepts in Photoshop CS5" dont have sound and cant render in hardware more either (mx video player). I think its the software render problem cuz I just down and watch VS show on my phone just fine ( no sound when switch to software mode)
The standard Videos app on the note doesn't do DTS-encoded audio. Could be your problem?
I followed NZTechFreak's advice from his reviews of the Note and got DICE player off the market - plays everything I've thrown at it and does hardware decode for almost everything as well. Also decodes DTS sound. For some reason seems to use software decode for wmv files though, where the stock app will use hardware for those as well.
Dice player work .
Hey guys,
Recently, I took over my dad's touchpad, and installed CM11 on it (milaq, 1/9/14). I have a lot of 720p anime encoded in h264 10-bit video. When I tried to play it,
* BS Player doesn't output subtitles as they were typeset, also lags a bit.
* MX outputs subtitles alright, but cannot play it without massive lag. It doesn't allow me to select the H/W decoder.
* Dice just crashes.
* VLC gets diarrhea and doesn't even play beyond the first scene.
Has anybody had any luck with playing any 10-bit, 720p video on their touchpad? If so, could you tell me what you did?
(For reference, the file I used was Commie's Hanamonogatari.)

I have not used commiesub for year. Try with MX Player to download the plugin for codec manualy (store version don't work) and link it from the option. If my video lag, normaly, hw+ work. It only happened 1 times from some french sub than hw+ did not work with 10bit 1080p, otherwise it should work fine. Normaly, the best and stable sub for VLC's Deadfish and Horriblesubs, otherwise, MX Player's the only one working with 10bit video. If it still lag, you might need to overclock the cpu and put 16bit video in the performance setting of the TP.
Hey folks,
I am using a P10 (VTR-L09) with EMUI-Version 8.0.0 and Android Version 8.0.0. Due to the camera problems of the android 9 update (see other posts here) I am still using Android 8.0.0. In Android 9 Huawei is switching to h.264 for 4k Videos but the files are much bigger and due to the not working OIS the results are terrible.
I am using video in UHD 4k 16:9 stereo and the quality is great. Huawei is using h.265 codec and the file size is quite ok. On the phone the video playback is good working.
But I am facing the problem, that I am not able to play the videos on other devices than the P10. On my i7 with Windows 10 and VLC player, VLC is stopping after a few frames. It looks like the video is corrupted. Converting the files via VLC results in a video with the audio stream and a black screen. On others players the videos stops every second. Other 4k videos are played without any problems on this machine. A lot of editing programs are not able to load the videos (I've tried to convert them to an other format). So it seems to me that Huawei is using a special version of h.265 codec or the are having an error in creating the video files.
Does any body know what "special" version of h.265 /HEVC codec Huawei is using or what the reason could be?
I know that h.265 need hardware support but the i7 should be powerful enough to handle that.

Hello, I'm going to be upgrading from my Midnight Black Snapdragon S5 to the Ocean Blue 512GB Exynos Note9 and would like to know if it supports HEVC x265 video files (in .m4v & .mkv formats) ? I can play them on my PC via KMPlayer but would be great if the stock Video Player & Gallery on the Note9 support them as well so I wouldn't have to download MX Player instead. Any info is appreciated, thank you for reading
PS: Please quote my post when you reply as I don't check Note9 forums often (yet ).

I haven't used this feature but tried to answer your question on my Eyxnos Note 9
It seems to have the option to select hevc in video recording settings of standard camera app.
A short test video , recorded on Note 9 with hevc option enabled was playable in both native gallery app and MXplayer.
Both players seemed to confirm hevc encoding

I mainly would watch series in HEVC but if it plays recorded HEVC from the camera I don't see a reason not to play movies etc. Thanks for confirming
isint hevc just the encoding for the file container?
logically anything that has H.265 support can play it( which all modern players should be able to play/read)
btw file extensions(container) are almost meaningless eg: mkv, mv4,mp4 and dosent regulate if the actualy decoding is possible or not. they are just a name that allows the correct app to start and open the file. the header in the file probably is the important part.
