Best program to sync Outlook Calendar via USB? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone... I've got a Nexus 6 I use for work and unfortunately we don't have an Exchange Server to globally sync calendars. The only workaround is to manually sync Outlook with my phone via USB on my work computer.
Because I don't know what the best solution/software for this problem is, I welcome any suggestions on what people here are using. Thank you in advance!

Sorry, I never used a USB program for this before.
In the past I used this or something like it to sync my outlook calendar with my gmail calendar:

How do I select my own file path for my Contacts?

My wife has the Iphone and I have the Tilt. We both use the same computer. So the problem I am having is that some of her contacts keep ending up on my phone and sometimes mine get's on hers or some of hers get's erased. How can I tell my phone where to save and sync my contacts? Hers is right in outlook, but I don't know where activesync is storing my contacts on my computer. When I open outlook on my computer and go to contacts, all my wifes contacts are there and none of mine are.
I had the same problems trying to sync two different devices on the same computer. Anybody have a solution?
I had the same issue with my wife, what I did was get her set up with microsoft address book and when her phone syncs set it up to only sync those contacts, I use outlook. Once I did that I haven't had any problems. Hope that helps

Sync Google Calendar with my HTC Diamond

Ca you help me, to find stand-alone mobile software to synchronize the diamond Outlook with a Google calendar.
I am not looking for a web site solution GooSync like.
I have tested GmobileSync, but it makes me some synchronizing errors…
Any information is welcome.
Thank you in advance
Hi, i use OggSync 4.19. It is easy and dont make any errors.
So you aren't interested in using a Exchange type solution? Like https://www.nuevasync.com/. It works flawlessly and can sync your contacts too. And it's free.
It's offline right now for a database rebuild (http://nuevasync.blogspot.com/) but try it out.

Personally, I think nuevasync is better, but it's a "web site solution", which you said you don't want.

I use OggSync too. Free version only syncs contacts though, the Pro version costs ~£30/year and can sync multiple calendars, even ones that have been shared with you.
It works well and you don't need a connection to a PC etc. I just wish there was a one off payment. I might look for a free alternative when my sub expires as I don't update my calendars or contacts much.

Just had a read and it only syncs one calendar. Doesn't look like it syncs contacts either, I know it's not what the OP asked for but I prefer the all-in-one solution.
I use oggsync with google calendar and its great. No errors. The pro version will allow you to sync contacts and multiple calendars.
My set up works well for me
WM Pocket outlook syncs with outlook on my home pc
google sync (official google app & free) syncs with outlook
Therefore everything gets synced !!!
second on oggsync. works great even with free version. Pro version can setup a auto-sync. you can keep it in background, and it will sync every given interval

[Q] HTC HD7 Outlook synchronization not possible

HTC HD7 with WM7 - there is no provision to synchronise with microsoft outlook using Activesync or Windows Mobile Device Centre.
Alternate way of using Exchange Activesync does look complicated
Please address the issue
This has been Answered
There are some workarounds & a 3rd party app, the solutions have been posted and can be easily found with a simple search (here is a hint, CompanionLink for outlook, Windows Live Connector, Gmail Sync). This is a very hot issue and I suspect there will be more solutions forthcomming
Cheers

My Milage
I tried the Hotmail connector, I had some issues, it seemed to have problems dealing with more than 250 contacts. I am using the Demo version of CompanionLink and syncing to my gmail acct and that is working very nicely.
cheers

I followed method two from the two ways to sync and worked just fine. I kind of like getting away from Outlook anyway. Hotmail/Windows Live is great since it can used through any computer contected to the internet to update contacts, phone numbers, etc. But I could see if this is an issue if you primarily use Outlook.

The problem I have is my company isn't running Exchange so for me to get my calendar and contacts I need a way to sync with Outlook.
I've tried Hotmail Connector and it works well for a one time sync but if you have a lot of changes to your calendar I have to make the changes in Outlook and Hotmail.
I refuse to pay $40 for something that should work out of the box.

Unfortunately, both are cloud solutions, which are unacceptable to me for both security and privacy.
If the WM7 device were seen as an external storage device (apparently doable via the registry), does anyone know whether this could faciliate a direct USB sync with Outlook 2010 32-bit?
Both solutions are OK for a one off copy of Calender & Contacts but do not perform a true contniuous Sync with Outlook and do not handle TASKS

if you are not ready to play with the cloud, I don't think wp7 is for you. They seem very serious about making the cloud an integral part of the OS going forward.

no microsoft myphone. All syncing goes through your live email address (like hotmail). For me, I had all my contact info on gmail because of playing on android with my hd2.
1. Logged into hotmail
2. clicked on import contacts under the contacts view
3. Clicked on gmail and followed the instructions
Took about 10 minutes.
For outlook I'm pretty sure you can do something similar, though I think you might need outlook connector from the marketplace to bridge it over from outlook to hotmail. You will only have to do this once, but then I guess your outlook will not be a syncable acct on you phone.
Just looked on my hotmail and it says to export your outlook contacts to a file that you can then upload to hotmail.
I'm a Windows Mobile User for 2 years now (SE Xperia X1) and loved the way I can sync it with outlook.
I have all my contacts (approx 500) in outlook and also use the calendar (+5000 items)
I've spent some time in the past to get the info on my contacts straight and I'm very disappointed about the lack of synchronisation options between WP7 and outlook.
Why does everything needs to be cloud-based.
I don't sync every day, but neither use outlook on everyday basis.
I never experienced syncing problems on either calender/notes/contacts or mail.
I have read something about features that will be added in the near future into WP7 and hope that local outlook synchronisation is one of them.
Hi guys,
I`m new to WM7 and i`m trying t sync my contacts as well. I don`t use Outlook and idon`t have an account. Is there any other way to get my contacts on te phone?
Thanks
So the windows 7 software allows syncing to google calender, email and contacts?
I'm stunned that there is no native support for Outlook synchronization with Exchange - this is old school and what I consider a core component of any smartphone I purchase.
I've just bought a HD7 assuming it would have this functionality (why would I check for this on a Windows phone, next I'll need to check the thing makes calls), guess I'm going to have to sell it on.
There maybe Third party solutions but I can't imagine they're ever going to work as well as a direct sync with the Exchange server in my office, giving Contacts, Tasks, Calendar Items, etc.
Absolutely gutted.
B
Of course there's native support.
If you have an exchange server, you have ZERO to worry about.
The issue is people who use Outlook for Pop and Imap. Or people who just use it for tasks and contacts. Without a Hotmail Connector, there is no way to interface with Outlook like the old school Active Sync did.
Again though, If you have Exchange, it works exactly like it does on any other platform, if not better. The only thing lacking right now is Tasks.
Jimbonics,
I could kiss you. My wife wouldn't like it (and neither would you most likely, I'm stubbly)
I've been reading phone forums, reviews and specs for what seems like months trying to choose the right phone (offline voice command via bluetooth is essential for me but Android doesn't do it and other devices have flaky support) so I skim read this thread: my bad.
Thanks for making my day.

[Q] Outlook & Custom ROMS

It seems the custom rom I installed doesn't like the LG PC Suite :/ How do you sync the phone now to Outlook 2010?
You don't
You sync it to google.
After that you can sync google calendar to Outlook.
And mail etc..
same is possible with hotmail I think but I don't use that
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA App
Eniux is right.. sync it with Google, and then export for what you want...
I see .. and if you don't want all your data online? You're stuck?
Why not simply search on market?
Found this in 27 sec...

if it is just the syncing of Contacts, Calendar, Organizer, Reminders, Messages....try the MyPhone Explorer....I use it for the syncing with this..through wifi, Bluetooth or USB....works perfect...
NOTE: it does not work for the mails
You can check almost any mail account within gmail: http://www.brighthub.com/internet/google/articles/5655.aspx
Best option, no need to mess with outlook

+1 on MyPhoneExplorer - forget LG PC Suite..

Looks free.
But only works using wifi, probably not with cable.
Thanks for all the help I went with the myphonexplorer route now ... fantastic little thing, with WLAN syncing and all, very nice! I really don0t understand all this outlook fuss ... synchronize a file with some structure into another file with some structure ... sounds like something a 10 year old learns in a basic class. But there's a million problems with it.... sigh.

I found that if you clear the certificate check box and remove the port number outlook will sync properly using the email app that came with the rom this is for exchange though. Not sure if it will work with the others.

sync with outlook contacts calendars

hi there,
was wondering if there is a method to sync the contacts (and calendars) from my outlook directly? ie without going through google(sony companion)?
do i have to use myphoneexploreer? wonder if compatible?
This is also a question I've wanted answering aswell, because I'm coming over from an iPhone.

MyPhoneExplorer is really good and it's free - you cannot sync directly with Outlook.
All I did was set up my outlook email address as an account and then just select to sync calendar/contacts?
Sony PC companion syncs outlook contacts/calendars via GOOGLE account
So on the circumstances (such as for WORK), where you only just want to sync directly between PC and device, seems only something like MYPHONEEXPLORER can do.
But the thing is that i find it (MPE) quite buggy with windows 8 and newer handsets.
Any other suggestions?
Just setup exchange account(outlook) and enable sync calendar and contact.
