My wife has the Iphone and I have the Tilt. We both use the same computer. So the problem I am having is that some of her contacts keep ending up on my phone and sometimes mine get's on hers or some of hers get's erased. How can I tell my phone where to save and sync my contacts? Hers is right in outlook, but I don't know where activesync is storing my contacts on my computer. When I open outlook on my computer and go to contacts, all my wifes contacts are there and none of mine are.
I had the same problems trying to sync two different devices on the same computer. Anybody have a solution?
I had the same issue with my wife, what I did was get her set up with microsoft address book and when her phone syncs set it up to only sync those contacts, I use outlook. Once I did that I haven't had any problems. Hope that helps

Hi all,
please kindly help me out here. I've tried searching numerous times within this forum and I cannot seem to find any solution to my above mentioned problem.
Anyone out there had tried to tranfer SMS from a Nokia 6680 to a HTC TyTN II? I have no idea how to do it. It seems that they are of total different formats. I have tried a number of ways but never succeeded.
The reason why I wanted to transfer all these (1000++) SMS because they are all memorable SMS from my wife since we dated.
Any kind soul out there, please kindly share your ideas. Your efforts will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much in advance.
Cheers
eRic
You can try forwarding it to your new pda might take a while, and can be costly. But, if your nokia is pc compatable, try browsing for the sms text document, if you have not already!

All i can say is.... HELP, DONT MOCK
You may be able to save your SMS's to your PC with Nokia PCsync software? Thats all you can really do to save them as there is no way you can really 'import' SMS's into any make of phone. They all store them in their own propriotory database.
Sorry, not sure if anyone else has an idea...
or maybe Jeyo
as it works with outlook, and I know they have a symbian version, the PST file should be the same as the one for PPC as well
So it would be a case of downloading it into outlook from the Nokia and upload back up to your kaiser

I have got the whole folder of SMS from my Nokia6680 copied on my desktop. But somehow I couldn't get Jeyo to read the folder. May I know if there is any settings to adjust in order to read the files?
Thank you so much.

Jeyo can't read the folder if it is on your PC, it's the wrong format. You have to connect it to the Nokia and read them from there.

Which and Where is the file in which PPC saves the SMS' Database?
Facing pretty much the same problem while trying to transfer my text messages from my N73 into my Vario II.
Could anyone get the version with Jeyo up and running?

All messages Mail+SMS are kept in an IMAP file in the Databases directory.

Jeyo is very 'Hit n Miss' with any version of Outlook other than 2007. I have the old 2002 on my PC and it invariably crashes Outlook at startup but works flawlessly with 2007 in my laptop.
Download the Outlook 2007 trial from Microsoft and see if it works with that.
Hi dude,
Can't even get the Jeyo client installed on my N73, I assume Symbian 9.1 is not supported yet - just sent an eMail to the support team to get that confirmed...
I also coulndt find a solution when I migrated to Kaiser from SE M600i.
I was able to take my contacts with me (via syncing with outlook) but not my sms and mms.
Very sad
Wow, guess I am not the only one who face the problem of transferring SMS/MMS from a nokia phone to a PPC.
Cheers

Jeyo Doesnt Help
I installed JEYO SYMBIAN on my laptop and i got all my SMS'es from NOKIA phone to sync with outlook. And then i installed the JEYO WM (Windows Mobile) and tried to sync my KAISER with the SMS directory in the OUTLOOK. BUT SADLY IT DIDNT WORK
It seems JEYO only syncs one way, i.e., it transfers SMS'es from the PHONE to OUTLOOK, but not from OUTLOOK to the PHONE.
So, sadly i think we will have to find another solution to this problem.
Hoping that there is one out there
P.S. Oh yes, and JEYO only supports SYMBIAN S60 and UIQ phones. It doesnt even support the S80 phones (NOKIA COMMUNICATORS)

Dude, you REALLY need to stop posting stuff when you don't know what you're talking about. He was asking where the PPC stores mail and SMS. That is stored in the root directory of the device within the pim.vol file.

OK, sorry I was thinking about account settings...So why didn't YOU answer the guy???
OH and BTW, pim.vol (IE PIM personal Information Manager) is only for contact/appnt info!!!
Check your facts.
We know how to move them, we are talking about SMS's which are held in an IMAP file!!
Move your message storage to your SD card and see which file goes!
EDIT: Be useful, not negative!
I guess DUTTYTHROY is the only person i see who can help us with this problem. Im gonna PM him, but if others also do the same for this ISSUE, then maybe he might volunteer to help.
We might even PAY him for this solution.

I was activesyncing one time and had activesync screw up and delete all of my contacts in my phone and outlook.
Thank God I had them saved to sim.
I had to get all the pictures and crap back though which sucked.

pimbackup is a phone application. That means it will only open on your phone. It will back up all of your info and save them to a storage card for you.
If your phone is syncing with outlook, and all of your contacts are there, it should throw all of the contacts back in the phone.

how do i do that, or does it do it automatically
As the title states, I cant figure out how to stop having my contact list put the last name first. I want it organized by first name.
Is this possible?
It is possible, and can be done by using the 'file as' drop down when editing contacts in Outlook on your PC, then re-syncing with your diamond.
Don't know of a way to do it stand alone though.

That's probably why I would think; I use Outlook, and it works fine... can't speak for your app, sorry.
There's actually a tiny freeware program that does just that, bulk on all your contacts: Contact Utilities v1.0b.
I've used it exactly for this and it worked perfectly
I just save them without a space between first and second names, that guarantees it will be the same on any phone ( e.g. if you go skiing and temporary transfer sim card to another phone or change phone to completely different model)
When you people talk about Outlook, do you mean the old crapy Outlook or brand new kick a*s Windows Live Mail?

they are two different lines of product, Outlook is not old, the latest version is 2007 .. I suppose this one
Actually, I'm willing to buy a Htc Touch diamond, but I've always hated outlook, and I'm kind of more fund on WL Mail... I've been using it quite a lot (About 20 mails a day) and I'm not willing to change my habits... So I wanted to know if
1) The mail tab on TouchFlo shows WL acounts
2) Will contacts on WL Mail be synchronised with the TD?
Thanks for replies.

Weird, I never experienced Outlook deleting my contacts just because i removed a partnership.
so it deleted them off both your device and outlook on your laptop?

Use the backed up your supposed to make of things that are precious to you.
If you don't have a backup then I would suggest you learn your lesson and start backing up.
With all honesty, good luck.
Hey everyone... I've got a Nexus 6 I use for work and unfortunately we don't have an Exchange Server to globally sync calendars. The only workaround is to manually sync Outlook with my phone via USB on my work computer.
Because I don't know what the best solution/software for this problem is, I welcome any suggestions on what people here are using. Thank you in advance!

Sorry, I never used a USB program for this before.
In the past I used this or something like it to sync my outlook calendar with my gmail calendar:
