Sprint M7 stuck at white HTC screen
I'm stumped as I had a bad flash leave this M7 stuck at the white HTC welcome screen.

Your hboot is 1.55, 1.xx.xxx.x RUU is hboot 1.44, you can't downgrade with s-on, so this ruu won't work. Try to find a newer sprint RUU, maybe a 3.xx.651.x or 4.xx.651.x. Another possiblity is to unlock the bootloader, flash a sprint twrp recovery and a sprint custom rom.

Downloading RUU_M7_WL_L50_SENSE60_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_6.23.651.7_Radio_1.01.20.1225_CNV_CNV_SPCS_4.38_003_release_446375_signed_2.exe
now, but I can't seem to get any exe to work in windows 10 at all. I run as admin and click through the license and never see anything again. I haven't been able to find a location to download the clean RUU.zip for anything newer than 1.29.651.7.
Thanks for taking the time,

Active cmdline overflow?

I've had a look around and read other topics on this, but none have seemed to help me. I was in the middle of returning my HTC One back to stock, all was good until I did an OTA update. Now I keep getting "active cmdline overflow! (1090 bytes)"
I can't get back into RUU by "fastboot oem rebootRUU"
I can't access Recovery.

Remove your serial number and your IMEI number from your original post like it did in the quote above, its dangerous to post it.
then see here for your problem and a fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2739126
copy and paste the dd commands to be safe, if you make a mistake with the command or code then its bye bye phone.
ah thanks for that.
I've tried to flash a new recovery, but I still can't boot into it.

you HAVE TO flash that modified recovery in the thread I linked, its the only one that will work.
Sorry if I didn't make it clear, but that was the recovery I flashed. Yet it still reboots to the bootloader instead.

Oh sorry, my bad, reading through the thread, its states you need to downgrade your HBOOT, but ill just double check that, you are s-off so shouldn't be a problem.
it's proving tricky.
I've downloaded the hboot, when I get an error.. FAILED <remote: not allowed>
yup, seems the problem is with HBOOT 1.55 and upwards, a lot of people on there are just downgrading there HBOOT to 1.44 then the recovery works, however, if you decided to do this you need to be aware that windows 8 upwards will no longer detect your phone, you must use windows 7 or Ubuntu.
I'm using Window 7 Professional 64-bit.
Can you point me in the right direction on how to correctly downgrade? I tried to dowgrade to 1.44 and got this.

excellent, glad it worked, you have to be very careful with HBOOTs, the wrong one will lead to an instant brick, you don't want to be seeing any error's :crying:
Sorry for the slightly necro post.
I'm running into the same problem again, after updating via OTA.

Trying to fix my phone so its useable. Was given a bad ROM to instal to try to s-off my device to return it to unrooted/locked state and get my normals updates back.

I had a similar issue when I inadvertently flashed an HTC Verizon ROM. To fix it, I went back to the stock RUU. The link below will get you an RUU that you should be able to use. Search for "flashing back to stock" or "flash RUU" to get instructions on what to do.

Don't use the firewater HBOOT. Use the proper one. Try flashing the firmware by itself, so your HBOOT will get replaced, then try flashing the RUU.

What is the ruu version you are trying to flash?

your firmware must be at least kitkat to use a lollipop ruu (hboot 1.57) update your firmware then try to flash the ruu again.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934550539

fastboot flash zip 6.23.651.6_full_firmware.zip

then launch the ruu
I don't think it's flashing the firmware correctly? Both times it said this.

Your bootloader is Unlocked, it must be relocked for flashing ruu and firmware when s-on. So relock it
I don't believe that's the case? It says relocked at the top of the bootloader screen.

Then it might be my fault, maybe the firmware linked is not signed (means you cant flash it on a s-on phone) sorry .
Do you remember what was the version-main number before it got deleted?
According to your hboot and radio version I think you were on a 3.xx.651.x or 4.xx.651.x version. Try an older RUU like this one (use the signed version, not the decrypted one)
Let me know if this is working
Thank you so much. The Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_4.06.651.4_RUU.zip completed successfully!
