Unable to download from Android Market without 3G (or data)

OK, so I'm not the first person to have this kind of problem, but I'm looking for updates or suggestions, since nothing has helped yet.
I don't have a data plan for my phone. It's actually blocked so I don't get charged per Kb for those sneaky apps that try to connect without telling you. I do have WiFi access in several locations. So far, I have not been able to download anything from the Android Market, or sign into GTalk. Market just tells me "Starting Download", but never has any progress or completion. GTalk won't even sign in. It just spins and says it's connecting for several minutes and then says it can't contact the server.
I have entered my google ID for market, and e-mail. E-mail seems to work fine, and I can browse apps in the market just fine, but I can't download them.
Has anybody WITHOUT A DATA PLAN (or one-time connection) been able to download apps from the market?

Wifi problem for Sense-apps?

Hey,
I have a weird problem with my One, I recently set up a yahoo mail account using the Sense mail but it would not get any notifications of a received mail, I would however be able to open up the email, refresh and see it's there. If I installed Y! mail, the notification showed just fine.
Other app notifications like Facebook Messenger and so on work alright, but even the weather, which is set to update every hour, won't do so automatically, unless I specifically enter the app and request the refresh manually. So I'm thinking it's a problem related to Sense-apps only, since I haven't had trouble with notifications/updates in other apps.
Another strange thing happens at times with Play Store and Youtube, when entering apps, it first says-"No connection, please retry" or something, and sometimes I have to press retry 2 times to get it to work, even if the wireless signal is full and displayed so in the status bar. The wifi is on at all times, so that shouldn't be an issue either..
Has anyone experienced something similar? The store I bought my phone from two days ago can't exchange it, but only send it in for repairs..
I Have the second problem with my HTC One , the play store is very slow and many times says " connection Timed out" but when i use LTE its fine , im not sure if ghis is related to my phone or my WiFi

[Q] "Contacts temporarily unavailable" on watch. How to fix??

I sideloaded the 5.1.1 OTA on my G Watch R and my starred contacts showed perfectly fine. Now whenever I try to access them, I get the message "Contacts temporarily unavailable".
The watch is connected to the phone and the phone is online. Anyone else had this error or anyone who knows what's causing it and how to fix it??

Someone on Reddit figured it out. I had Cloud Sync switched on, but since the 5.1.1 update didn't give the GWR Wifi, that doesn't work. Switching Cloud Sync off was not sufficient, but after restarting the watch my contact appeared again.

Connection issue

Hi guys.
when i use 'okay google' to do something such as set a reminder it goes through the motions then says 'saving' but then says 'try again on your phone'. the strange thing is the reminder actually does set properly so i dont know why the watch thinks it hasnt been successful.
i have the Vernee apollo lite phone and have just uninstalled the android wear app, unpaired the watch which reset it and started from scratch but it still does it.
something that may be connected is the google app on the phone is missing some options such as using it from any screen and retrain voice. it is up to date as confirmed on the play store page.
cheers, marc

Cloud sync?

Does cloud sync work for anyone? I have it enabled on the Android Wear app, but when I have bluetooth turned off, I'm not getting any notifications over wifi or LTE even though they are turned on and connected.

I don't even use cloud sync. I get notifications just fine with it turned off. In fact I'm not sure what it's for.

You probably have a bluetooth connection. Cloud sync is for when you aren't connected to your phone. The phone is supposed to send the notifications through the cloud to your watch when you are disconnected (or leave your phone behind).

Like what sort of notifications? Email? I get those fine. Hangouts and texts I don't get because it doesn't have a stand alone app. I do use pulse which uses cloud sync for me to get my texts.

I found the issue. I had to clear all data from the Google Play Services on my phone and resync the watch. Now Android Wear shows that my watch is connected when only on wifi or LTE, not bluetooth.

Surprisingly enough this works for Samsung Watch 4/5 lte also, first they were not syncing, I cleared play services reset the watches and connected them to phone again and after about an hour of leaving them connected via Bluetooth (background app updates) I was able to see the cloud sync symbol and messages started to sync a little slow but yeah they are syncing, will probably start a new thread giving this info for new comers, I searched a lot to get to this comment here!
I have a slightly different problem with my GW4: cloud sync kind of works, but keeps disconnecting randomly. I think it's a phone issue, since rebooting it often helps. Sometimes even opening the Galaxy Wear app causes it to reconnect (I have bluetooth turned off and the watch on LTE or wifi for the sake of testing).
I've cleared Google Play Services, but it didn't help.
Any idea what else I could try? I have not idea why my phone or watch in particular have issues with this even after resetting. My phone is Google Pixel 5.
I can't express how annoying this is, having the watch refusing to sent a text message after I've typed it because it just got disconnected again. Funnily enough, I do get notifications for incoming texts in this state.
I have similar problem with randomly disconnection GW5pro + galaxy s20 5g. It is probably problem of killing google cloud sync processes on the phone after half on hour ar bit late. Didn't fix it yet.
