I am having a lot of problems with encrypting my new Galaxy S6 Active. Previous versions of android I would be required to use a high security password to encrypt the full device. Latest Cyanogenmod on my old phone (S3) allowed me to encrypt device with a pattern. I have Googled this and Lollipop is supposed to allow you to have a high security password for boot but a pin/pattern for the unlock screen. I just encrypted the whole thing and was unable to change back to a pin/pattern lock. Has anyone got this to work? Also, I am unable to clear credentials as it is greyed out.
Basically I want to do full device encryption with a pin/pattern or full encryption with strong password but pin/pattern for unlock screen. I am running stock ATT 5.0.2

When I got my S6 Edge I enabled device encryption so that when I would reboot the phone I would be prompted for a long password. But ever since the OE2 OTA it no longer prompts for the passphrase it just boots straight to the lockscreen. When I go into the security settings it says the device is encrypted. I am wondering if anyone else has seen this behavior or knows why this is happening.
Thanks
Well I tried decrypting and re-encrypting but the decryption process would never really begin, it just hung when trying to restart my phone, so I eventually just did a factory reset and encrypted again from scratch. It is all working again. I hope I don't have to do this every time I get an OTA.
Settings->Security Causes Settings to FC After Setting Password Lock [Chroma 1/18/16]
Hello, I bought a Nexus 6 off the recent Amazon sale, rooted it and flashed Chroma (and the recommended GApps) on it. It has been great so far, until this morning when I decided I wanted to have it password locked. After doing that Settings FCs. If I go to Settings again everything is fine, until I select Security, it FCs again. The password lock is in place, but I can't change it, or disable it.
I tried a cache/Dalvik Cache wipe and reboot.
I tried the solution outlined here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/settingsecurity-force-close-t2161674
I tried a complete wipe and clean flashed Chroma and GApps a couple of times. This removes the password lock, but if if I try to set a password again the same thing happens.
I updated the radio.
I am back to where I was this morning, no password, but unable to set one.
I haven't tried a pattern or PIN lock.
Any help would be appreciated.

I had setup fingerprint on S5 and it didn't work out well, so I switched to PIN, today when I tried setting up fingerprint again, it asked for previous fingerprint, i tried it several times but failed and it started asking for alternative password which I can't remember. If I reflash the stock ROM will the alternative password will be gone? I don't care about the data being wiped though.
Help?
Hi dude's,
I have one problem with my P9 after flashed it with 394 ROM update. I can't access to AppLock because it blocked with some pin. I didn't know the pin and phone don't ask me for security question. He's locked by itself. I tried to wipe data for phone manager but it didn't helps. How I can remove the pin and make new pin for AppLock? I have root and TWRP.
Sorry for my bad English.
Hey guys, basically I am facing an issue now, basically, I successfully rooted my note 9 which is on the android pie (using twrp and magisk)
And now I have this issue that every time I try to create a lock for the phone (i.e. fingerprint or anything else) And I input the password. Then it doesn't lock my phone, however, it doesn't let me register fingerprints as it says the pin I enter is wrong. And I had to reset it 5 times already.
Please help
