Hey guys, basically I am facing an issue now, basically, I successfully rooted my note 9 which is on the android pie (using twrp and magisk)
And now I have this issue that every time I try to create a lock for the phone (i.e. fingerprint or anything else) And I input the password. Then it doesn't lock my phone, however, it doesn't let me register fingerprints as it says the pin I enter is wrong. And I had to reset it 5 times already.
Please help

When I got my S6 Edge I enabled device encryption so that when I would reboot the phone I would be prompted for a long password. But ever since the OE2 OTA it no longer prompts for the passphrase it just boots straight to the lockscreen. When I go into the security settings it says the device is encrypted. I am wondering if anyone else has seen this behavior or knows why this is happening.
Thanks
Well I tried decrypting and re-encrypting but the decryption process would never really begin, it just hung when trying to restart my phone, so I eventually just did a factory reset and encrypted again from scratch. It is all working again. I hope I don't have to do this every time I get an OTA.
I am having a lot of problems with encrypting my new Galaxy S6 Active. Previous versions of android I would be required to use a high security password to encrypt the full device. Latest Cyanogenmod on my old phone (S3) allowed me to encrypt device with a pattern. I have Googled this and Lollipop is supposed to allow you to have a high security password for boot but a pin/pattern for the unlock screen. I just encrypted the whole thing and was unable to change back to a pin/pattern lock. Has anyone got this to work? Also, I am unable to clear credentials as it is greyed out.
Basically I want to do full device encryption with a pin/pattern or full encryption with strong password but pin/pattern for unlock screen. I am running stock ATT 5.0.2
I had setup fingerprint on S5 and it didn't work out well, so I switched to PIN, today when I tried setting up fingerprint again, it asked for previous fingerprint, i tried it several times but failed and it started asking for alternative password which I can't remember. If I reflash the stock ROM will the alternative password will be gone? I don't care about the data being wiped though.
Help?
Yesterday, I upgraded to Pie, which was a bit of a pain. Now I cannot complete the finger print registration anymore:
Enrollment was not completed
Fingerprint enrollment didn't work.
Try again or use a different finger.I also ran FPTest in the *#*#miui#*#* menu. Here as well, I cannnot complete the enrollment process. It gets stuck at:
11 touches: 88%
Any idea what may be the problem?
Note that my A2 is rooted, with Magisk. Temporarily (without reboot) deinstalling it did not help.
Hello guys! After experiencing all custom ROMS including Xiaomi.EU, figured out that every single one has some small inconvenience for me and planning to return to stock, eventually using only Magisk and potentially a custom Kernel.
Managed to install every single version of Global Developer ROM, everything works well except the FaceUnlock that was gone, (the phone remained stucked in China region) and I am not able to access the fingerprint section, after few tries it brings me an error message.
Tried also using MIFlash , but the Fastboot ROM writting took 3 sec to write and stopped as successfully, then nothing but bootlooping.
Currently is the phone is functional, but as mentioned before not able to setup new fingerprints (using cache and data from old recovery and those work) neither Face Unlock.
Tried to Google any kind of solution, but unfortunately nothing worked.
Any suggestion is appreciated.
I see that nobody is interested to support, so I continuously researched and figured out that doing a full wipe and following these steps from this post will solve my problem:

From I don't know which reason I was blocked on China region without the possibility to changing it.
