Long story short:
I just change sim card in xperia z3C, but it might not be related to the problem.
Last week xperia asked for moving data to sd card, then said moving could not be done due to capacity shortage in sd card.
Then i tried erasing some big archives in sd card, both from computer and from mobile, without success.
As a result, i can take pictures, but they never get stored in the album, but ,curiously enough, i can store photos that i take with some app who has camera add, such as whatsup.
I think the storage think could be solved if i could somehow erase archives in sd card, but i can not get to do it.
Any help?
Thanks

Hi there,
I just replaced my microsd card as the first one I had died a death. I've copied all the files over from the old one (backups - we love you!) but the phone is seeing the new card as Storage Card2 and thus none of the apps can see their data files and the apps installed on the old card won't work! Is there any way to make the Kaiser see the new card as the old one?
Thanks
Usually that happens when you save your IE cache to your SD card or something similar like email attatchments. When you remove you SD card it creates a folder on your phone and names it storage card. The easiest way to fix it would be to remove the SD card again and then delete the file called Storage card and then shut your phone off and put the SD card back in and reboot. It will then move the IE cache or whatever caused the problem back to the SD card and will only see 1 storage card again.
This is likely to be a recurring issue, though. If the SD card is put to sleep, it won't wake up quickly enough for apps that are writing to it. This is typically an issue when you're directing mail and/or attachments to the card rather than memory. Unless you really need to (due to space), it's easier to avoid the issue and just keep them on the device.
All the music files on my card have been corrupted. I tried to use StorageTools to repair it but it keeps stalling. I'd rather not have to reformat it because it would take forever to load all the songs again with the USB 1 connection.
I have had luck with Pocket Mechanic Professional. It can recover bad sectors. Also, SK Tools supposedly also can scan & recover. Otherwise you can do a Google search for SD Card recovery tools & if you have a card reader you can do it through the PC.
If this is something that keeps happening though, a format is your best bet.
Don't have an SDHC compatible reader but I just ordered one. Just hope it works in XP.
It happened to me few days ago. I am also using SDHC @ 4GB. I am using it as a storage card (through SoftickCard Export II). with this software I do not need to pull out my SD card which is a very tedious to do. Also because I do not have the compatible card reader for SDHC.
To recovery corrupted file, I bought this software called Data Doctor Recovery for Removable Media. It is a fantastic tool which can help you to recover deleted or corrupted file on your thumb drive, storage card (anything removable).
Why not give a try to both software...
I already formatted it. Tried pocket mechanic took me an hour and didn't fix it. Waiting for card reader to come so I can reload it faster. I'm just wondering what caused it and afraid it might happen again.
Sorry, guess I should've mentioned that depending on the size of the card & the amount of data that PMP can take a few hours to recover sd cards.
It worked for me, but I did it as I slept & it took about 4 hours.
I am running Duttys March 4 Dual Touch, No Cube on my Kaiser. Probably unrelated, but yesterday every thing on my 6GB Sandisk Storage Card disappeared
About 750mb of data! The card appears empty in File Manager until I select "Show all files" when a single folder called WMDRM containing a single 132kb file shows up.
If I go to Settings> System> Memory The storage card shows 738mb used and 5084mb free. So it appears the data is there but inaccessible. If I browse the card from activeSync the same is also the case. Properties tell be 738mb used, but nothing is visibel except the single small file.
Any ideas on how I might be able to get it back? Really want to get my data back....
Storage Card scrambled files?

You may have scrambled your files.
Put it into a USB card reader and try to access it on your PC - if it looks the same there, try looking at it with a good file undeleter like Fix-It Utilities or Norton, see if you can recover anything.
I just had a laptop hard drive fail on my last week, so I feel your pain. Fortunately I had fairly recent backups so I didn't lose too much.
Makes me think of someone's tagline I saw once:
"There are 2 kinds of people in this world, those with a backup plan in place, and those that have not yet had a catastrophic disk failure"
Good luck!
Search this site for SD CARD2
Most likely the issue is cause by the infamous Win CE bug.
If I have not posted the solution here, do a google search in the Web, you'll find detailed instructions.
[Edit] Your data is there, so don't do anything foolish, or else you'll have to reinstall everything. The SD CARD2 issue is very simple to resolve.
Thanks guys. Had a look as SD CARD2 threads and they did not seem to relate to me. Ran Pocket Mechanic and its Scandisk feature on the Card and it reported loads of "lost clusters". I then ran it again with "Automatically fix errors" and "discard lost clusters" and it merrily removed them all. So now my 738mb of data has gone. Rats. Oh well I will just start again a fresh and hope it does nto happen again.
i feel your pain. it's happened to me quite a few times on my XDA II, and once recently on my Kaiser when i damaged the mini-usb port (entirely my fault) and it started writing corrupted data onto the card when copying files over through activesync
I've since taken to keeping copies of my card data in addition to backups of my device. i usually carry 2 cards with me, one backup and one "current"; and i also keep backups of my SD cards on my PC, just in case.
Strangely, After a few hours most of the data on the card spontaneously returned. One minute it was empty and the next it had all the folders and files back again. Albeit with a lot of lost clusters and a heap of files reported as 32kb. Was able to recover a lot of the stuff and have got another 2GB card to use in the mean time.
Is there much point in reformatting the card? From experience, does anyone know if formatting might "fix" whatever caused it to lose clusters and go bad? Am considering sending it back for a warranty claim but how can I ascertain if it is actaully faulty once I reformat it.
Reformat or replace?

I have had USB flash memory seem to be faulty, especially when trying to transfer large amounts of data for a backup - then rebooted and re-inserted and had readable data. I would try reformatting, and then back up often and watch it like a hawk. Or, if it wasn't too expensive, just discard. Or, try to get a replacement - I did get an SD card replaced once at N/C because it wouldn't read in anything I tried it in, and I complained and was heard.
I bought a replacement 2GB panasonic microSD in Japan a couple of days back. (Always find the memory quality excellent there.) Their eyes were out on stalks when they saw my 6GB card. Must not be wideley available there yet. Anyway I plan to use the 2gb for the time being to rule out hardware and software causes. Have reformatted the suspect 6gb card. Will soon start using it again with everything backed up to the max and hopefully the problem will not return. I have been flashing a few different ROMs. Because of this I am becoming ever more reliant on the Storage Card for system recovery. So cant afford to have a dodgy one.
Hi, folks.
I use a HTC cruise with WM6.1 from Bepe. This morning, all files from my 8GB miniSD card just vanisehd!!! I removed the card from the phone and tried to access the files in windows with a sd card reader, but no file was seen. Although, there was only 3,5GB free!!! The files weren't there, but they kept occupying space. I used this software to recover the files. Awesome! They were all there, except for the ones stored in root. Also,I had to rename all root folders, the subfolders were OK. I just had to filter files marked as "good" and then copied them to my HD. The phone is working as usual, but I can't explain why exactly this happened? Would it be a vicious virus? A joke from Micro$oft? Any ideas?!?
Hello folks,
I recently bought a Sandisk 32GB class 4 micro SD card for my Incredible S phone. It was working fine, i copied quite a few videos, photos etc..
For the last two weeks, strangely, I'm not able to write any data to the disk such as photos. Photos taken, videos recorded etc.. will not get created in the SD card. I cannot even delete photos from the disk. Whatever data is deleted will be present after some time, ie.. it does not gets deleted properly.
I tried to format it with vfat from my linux machine, but it shows an I/O error while writing the partition table to the disk. Does this show a damaged/fake disk ?
I'm not sure what is causing this, since it was working fine for me and started acting strange recently.
Are there any tools to test this or what are your suggestions ?
Vimal
Hello,
Would this be a case of the card been damaged ? I tried using a tool named 'SDCardTester' from Playstore and it said "
"Data read is not consistent with data previously written. Your card can be damaged or maybe fake where the card returns OK after writing more than a certain amount of data but this data cannot be further retrieved."
it seems that the sd card have some problems
i suggest you to test it on another devices
if it shows the same then you should send to Sandisk to change another new
If I try to download PDF filed on to my SD card it will only allow Downloading onto the tablet. The SD card option is greyed out and says not enough room. I have formatted the card (65gb) in the tablet and there are no files on it but the problem persists.
This has never been a issue with my previous Samsung tablet nor my Samsung phones. Any suggestions to resolve this would be gratefully received. Thanks, KJR.
Hi! I expect you've already covered these bases, but:
Are you able to download other kinds of files directly to the MicroSD card?
Have you verified in a file manager that you can copy/move files from your internal storage to your MicroSD card?
What format is the MicroSD card?
Have you tried re-formatting it and re-verifying you can copy/move files to it?
It's always possible it's become corrupted, although I used to have more of a problem with that years ago.
Good luck, and let us know if you find a solution.
Thank you, I had tried the suggestions you offered. In the end I reformatted the SD Card again and shut down the tablet and restarted (again) and magically all was well! What I did that was different from before I do not know but all is working as it should. I can only assume that the card was corrupted some how and it took several reformats to sort it out..
Awesome! You're welcome. That kind of thing is one of the reasons why Google stopped supporting MicroSD cards on their phones (and other OEMs too), although I'd rather they still did as I mostly keep hundreds of gigabytes of music on them, so I normally don't have a lot of deleting and re-writing going on.
