About a week ago my wife's S6 got the 5.1.1 update and after some tries to get it to install, it was installed successfully. Last night, she went to use to some information stored on the S-Notes app and every single one of them were deleted and the app was empty.
Is there anyway to recover those files? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
PS: she doesn't have a Samsung account, only the usual Google account sync.

Hi There
I updated my phone through Kies and got version: I9000XXJPM build FROYO.XWJP6
I did a factory reset so marked would appear and so I could start on a fresh.
Everything seems to be working okay, but my email client (not GMAIL), lags a lot, and I’m unable to delete mails using IMAP. When I delete a message and refresh, the mail just appears again. This worked on Android 2.1update1.
I tried to root my phone, hoping I could fix the lag issue, but I can’t make the 3 bottom download mode trick work. Then I looked at this fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=785201 but got stock at step 5 and 6. I don’t know what to do and where.
Does anyone else have problems with the email client using exchange and imap? Can you guys delete imap messages?
And regarding the root issue: I only need this, so I can change my default homescreen to number 3, so if there’s a better way to do this, please help. And also if it can fix the email problems.
Thanks
-Michael
There is already a standalone thread about the issues after the official Froyo update just under this thread which you have just created...
Posting here now
Thanks

Root your device using SuperOneClick. I did.
Hey,
Recently I've been having a LOT of trouble with my galaxy S3 LTE. For over a year it's been fine other than a firmware problem - but roughly 3 days ago, Google Play started to not let me in thanks to a "connection error". After deleting my account from Google, clearing cache and fixing the "hosts" file. Nothing worked.
Seemingly, A factory reset would be the only solution?
So I backed up all my images, music and contacts to the SD card, unmounted it and factory reset the phone through the recovery method thinking "Finally, it'll all be back to normal" but once again. Google won't allow me to add an account and the software won't update although I have the stock firmware?
Is there any way to actually fix these problems properly?
Thanks.

So I got an AT&T S6 Active this past weekend, which came with android version 5.1.1. While in the store the guy who helped me transferred my contacts over and for some reason it made like 4 copies of each contact. Anyways, I got home that night and figured instead of deleting 1000 contacts i would just do a factory reset via the android system menu. The reset went fine except for the fact that I am now on 5.0.2 instead of 5.1.1 and lost my samsung pay. I have tried to update the software via Kies and Smart Switch, but neither will work. Also, checking for an update via the android system menu says there isn't one available. What gives and how can I get back on 5.1.1?
Sorry to hear that! Have you tried this?

Trying to use Android Pay on a stock, unrooted Nexus 6 using 6.0.1 build MMB30G on T-Mobile but having some issues.
If I try and add a card via the app, when I click the + sign and hit add card I get an error saying network error and thats it. I also cannot use the app to pay, keeps saying card cannot be used right now. Its a TD Bank debit card which is listed as supported on AP's support page.
Anyone have some ideas on whats going on or what I can do to fix it? Phone was wiped completely clean to this build using the nexus toolkit like 2 weeks ago. bootloader is unlocked but thats it. I've cleared data on the app, force stopped it, disabled it so it reverted to the original version installed and also redownloaded the updated version. app version 1.3.122316814
I also added a card via the website but it won't show up in the app, something is definitely not syncing across.
Okay so here's the problem. I have a galaxy s6 that I only used for clash of clans. I stopped playing after a while and I forgot the pattern. I factory resetted the phone, but it's asking me for the email I had on it. I looked up YouTube tutorials on how to bypass the gmail account, but for all of them you need to be on 5.1.1 not 6.0.1 is there a way I can downgrade to 5.1.1? Every time I try to do so Odin fails. Or is there a way I can bypass the gmail account activation on 6.0.1? Anything would help. Thank you.
