Slow motion Video Recording on Custom ROMs? - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently reverted to stock firmware and umm...slowmo capture is back and I kind like it!. Can someone port this feature to other roms? Tried restoring camera app using titanium and was an error just after pressing record button....
Sorry for wrong section....

Slomo is related to the motorola kernel and some other motorola features so it´s not possible to port it on AOSP or CM roms. Only roms based on motorola firmware and kernel can give you that feature.

[Q] ICS Camera: Picture with Power Button?

Hey XDA,
On my old roms (GB), I used to have the ability to take a picture with the camera app when I pressed the power button. I'm running AOKP Build 28 ICS 4.0.3 at the moment. Is there way to get this working with the ICS camera app?

Hi,
i have this power shutter feature with the stock ICS camera app, but i'm running TeamHacksung's CM9 Build 17.
Maybe you change your ROM?!
If you have a sensation there is a hd camera mod you can flash thats has the power shutter feature . So maybe Google for one
Here's the pre-ICS hacked camera for reference:

Backup the original cam, I'm going to see if I can get this working with ICS

MMS capture video - camera has stopped

When I try to send a video text message I get the error "Unfortunately, camera has stopped." I can take videos/pictures no problem. It's just video texts. Any thoughts?
I'm running AOKP ICS M4 on a Samsung Captivate. Other wise I'm not having any problems.

I have yet to play with a ported ROM such as the ICS, but I have heard that nearly all of ported ROMS, or at least those that don't have the same framework as your captivate, have bugs, so i imagine that a bug with the camera isn't unusual for such a rom. Did you experience this while using stock or another rom?

It was working with a stock rom. I haven't had any other rom but this AOKP ICS Rom. Thanks for the info!
I got same problem with AOKP build 33

p990 cm 7 camera lag.

Hy , I have tried cm 7.1 and cm 7.2 on p990 and on both the cm camera lags in low light conditions , I even tried instaling lejay's costom camera and i get the same result 5-12fps in low light condition(if i use the stock camera ported to cm7 it works great but has lower bit rate) can somebody help my with this? I have research the forum and found out that many use cm 7 camera without any problems.

Try ICS camera from play market, works for me.. Or it might be kernel's fault..
Try to flash another kernel, i think that its the problem
I will try another kernel but i do not think it will make much difference since the camera driver is most likely in the rom not the kernel and even if the faulty driver was in the kernel i doubt that the costom kernles have a diferent camera driver than the stock cyanogen mod.
Why do you want more BPS? 17 is already good... more cause me lag when I record...
Sent 2X faster with my LG
I tryied another kernel and as i expected nothing has change ( the camera driver is in the rom not in the kernel ) i still get lagg in low light with cm7 camera. The main reason i want cm7 is that there is a pach that enables focus in video recording while in stock camera there isn't any.
Can someone that is using cyonogen mod 7 camera confirm to me that he has no lag in video camera recordings ?I mean someone who knows what he is talking about.
I found the issue is that lg did not use the standard android camera libraries, they made other libs for the stock lg camera,The lag issue is because cynogen mod and other market camera aps use the stock rom android libraries located in /system/lib directory libcamera.so and libamce.so that are the stock android rom camera libs , apparently lg camera hardware is not compatible 100% with this android stock libs .If there are people with p990 that have no lag with cynogen mod 7 camera in low light and other camera market apps I would be grateful if he would post the above mentioned libs libcamera.so and libamce.so for my and other to try on our devices.I wonder if i use a g2x rom would it function on my phone or just use there camera libs ?

have you tried the mod made by Kostya?
cam stock mod

Is you ask us if we have problems with low fps during a lowlight scene with CM7 - Then yes, yes i do
But the stock camera has been portet to CM7.
The stock lg camera has no support for autofocus. And i found out the real problem for lag is the automatic exposure compensation i am using lgcamera from market and it has exposure compensation options .When i set the exposure compensation to" -" the lag is gone .

[Q] What ROM should I choose

Hello, i use custom rom of gingerbread (XXJW4) with semaphore kernel and now i'm thinking about ICS or jelly bean. Are these versions stable and every functions of my I9000 will work? Could you recommend me any ROM + kernel? I don't know which one I should choose. I'm still not sure if i really need ICS or JB, but I want to change my actual ROM, because it isn't so stable. Actually what will change for me? I've installed go launcher so newer touchwiz will be probably unused.
Greetings
C-Rom Jelly bean and semaphore kernel
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
thanks for your answer

are you talking about this?
I have one more question.
I use 'hacked' camera and fm radio apks from this forum (without low battery lock and some other features). I can't imagine that I couldn't use camera below 15% of battery if my I9000 can still work for next few hours of awake. I can see these mods are builded for Froyo, GB, e.g.: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=980835 Will I be able to use it with android 4.1?

Short answer, No
Although to be honest, I'm unsure if there is such a restriction in Cyanogenmod (the ROM I use).
CM10 is completely stable (despite there being no official "stable" release as yet).
Non-Samsung ROMs do not have Samsung Apps which include the FM Radio App.
As such, Cyanogenmod does not have FM radio support inbuilt, but you can install Spirit FM either the free version (restricted) from xda or paid, full version from the Play Store.
Skip ICS. The media bug in it is a pain in the **s. Really annoying.
All JB roms here are good, just check the correspondent OPs carefully.
thanks for your answers, so i will try this cyanogen10 JB, but earlier I have one more question
Is there any kernel for I9000 which implements the two-way-call-recording function?
I didn't see a call recording function since gb... Would be nice to know if that is still possible?
@alexri, i saw call-recording apps especially for i9000 only for Froyo. Do you know any good app for GB?
I tried many 'MIC recording apps' from google play, but in everyone when the recording starts my caller stops to hear me (in some apps it happens instantly, in others just in about 1st or 2nd second of call). I try also Total Recall and his 'strategies' of recording, but always the problem cames up. I think my ROM locks that function so this is the next reason of my looking for new soft.
Anyone using RemICS-ux on an I9000M? Every post I've seen suggests its close enough to the international version not to have issues.
RemICS uses the XXJVT modem. Should I use the KG3 modem if I flash it? Thanks.
Hi,
Plz suggest any stable & working Jelly Bean ROM with FM Radio.

[Q] Camera not working - The Galaxy Project i9305 v15.10

Hey there, just sold my S4 for an S3 i9305 4G.
The ROM works great, except for the camera app crashing on launch.
When I dial *#34971539# all it says is CameraFirmware Standard, so I can't get the specific model of the camera hardware.
On Alliance ROM i was able to get the camera working, by flashing a stock kernel, going into the camera app, then flashing any custom
kernel and it worked from then on.
Unfortunately, The Galaxy Project is my ROM of choice, because it seems less buggy, but when I try the same trick, the ROM won't boot
with stock kernels...
How do I get the camera to work?
Help!!
i installed that ROM...for me didn't boot at all....(did full wipe and waited about 10 min)...
if you read the 2nd post from that kernel...CLICK HERE you will see that the developer says clearly that there is a bug with camera... and as you can see he lists there "Possible solutions"....those are not guaranteed to work...wait for him to find the bug...
i use OMNI ROM....camera works perfectly...
These solutions ARE guaranteed to work I have the same problem, so I just copied my SlimISP to external memory and use it if the bug occurs.
