Hi all
I have an issue my country South Africa, released mobile TV but the problem arises when the application (DSTV Mobile Decoder) does not work on rooted devices.
So I am currently on THS build 17 ICS 4.0.3 and would like to know if its possible to unroot my phone and root it back easily.
Thanks

Hey Guys, I was out of the country for the past month. I got back yesterday only to find my phone got the OTA update and i didn't want that as i was planning to root it. My question is can i still root it or is there a way to roll back my phone? Any help is appreciated guys. Much thanks!
I believe you can still use kingoroot. Be warned this method delivers some info about your phone to their servers. But to the best of my knowledge this is currently our only option.

Thanks. I would rather not use this option if I can help it. Any other options?
Do not use the Root De la Vega method on your MJ5 or you will create an unrecoverable brick. kraz

I have at&t LG Flex, rooted and than updated to kitkat, surprised was when it updated to Kikat and root was retained, I used all applications that require supersu and work like charm.
Follow this, If you did not upgraded root it with ioroot and don't unroot it, take OTA update and you will keep the root.
If you upgraded, downgrade it via lgflashtool method, root with ioroot and update ota and you will keep the root..Good Luck
Link to downgrade:

What did you do before hand? Cuz you're literally the only person so far i think. I tried everything and even went back to jelly bean 3 times trying to retain root with different programs. It would always error out on the update screen

Basically what I did was I rooted on JB and when KK update came, I removed root from superSu "unroot", I tried to upgrade to Kikkat and failed, so I did lgflashtool (you directed me by the way) and flashed it to JB, rooted again and kept the root and superSu..tried update from menu and went through and kept the root.

I was unable to try it out last night, ever since upgrading to kit Kat i can no longer choose which mode to connect (usb only, mtp, etc) so after flashing back the problem followed me which prevented me from running ioroot successfully. Luckily i had ordered a new flex yesterday from AT&T after their service center confirmed something was borked during the update, it'll be here Monday. Can't do anything till then.

i can confirm that root on kitkat works. i flashed back to jellybean then rooted then took the kitkat update, and still obtained root access.

So far it's only available for AT&T so that's nothing to "upload". Without recovery for these phones there's no way to create roms from kit Kat source

Hey there,
I have read through tons of threads and google searches but I can't seem to find a straight answer with a guide. I just got an S5 G900A (AT&T) Preloaded with 5.0 Lolipop. I'm wanting to know is there a way to root the phone without tripping Knox?
I currently use an S3 with 4.1.1 that does what I need, All I'm wanting to be able to do to the S5 is load FoxFi & Titanium Backup to use as a hotspot and remove bloatware, I'm still within my 2 weeks if the phone is unable to be rooted I really have no need for it and able to return at this moment as It has only been powered on to check.
Thanks
No way to root 5.0 on the S5 at this point. I seriously doubt a method will come out before your return period. If root is that important to you, return it.
